big pothole did big damage along the 101 this morning it happened in redwood city near the woodside road exit car after car pulled over to the shoulder with flats . i've seen many cars, probably between 25 30 daniel quadrant got two flat tires. so did kyle murray, who got towed to the nearest repair shop. it was your not your average pothole. that's for sure. it was like a superhero pothole. probably i'm pretty sure more like a villain . caltrans started at vanquished crews had already filled the pothole once now as chp without diverting traffic so they could fill it again, so it had been filled in the last three days. and then in that three days with continuous rain that we had in the usage of the road. it did open back up. caltrans says. it's tough to keep up last january, there were 300 reports of potholes around the bay area halfway through this january. there are already more than 400 . but if you've fallen victim to one, you can file a claim for reimbursement with caltrans. if you feel your car was damaged by freeway issue go ahead and file the claim, and then we'll review the clai

elsewhere in san mateo county crews cleared a down tree and redwood city on jefferson avenue near clinton street. the tree came crashing down on a work van. there's no word on any injuries or whether anyone was actually inside that van at the time in the east bay on westbound 5 80 between dublin and castro valley , mud came cascading down the hillside, causing traffic trouble. the thick sludge spilled across the roadway just before the eden canyon road exit. causing drivers to slow to a crawl to get through it safely. that created a very long line of traffic. this video is captured at around 12 30 this afternoon. in one spot, the chp had two cone off the section of the slow lane where you could see a part of a small mudslide blocking that part of the freeway. a section of highway one closed this morning due to rockslides. caltrans says crews are working to clear the highway from ragged point to south of big sur. crews are also working to remove debris behind a drainage basin. at paul's slide , where mud has reached the top of the concrete barriers. no word on when that section of highway
