meteorologist kari hall joins us now. kari, still more good news for the sierra snowpack. >> we are seeing a lot of that snow moving in. as we take a look at tahoe right now we are seeing that snow just weighing down those trees as we take a look at palisades. and so the snowpack has had a huge boost. we're more than double the normal amount of snow at 214% of normal. the southern sierra at 257% of its normal amount of snowfall. and what we've seen with climate change that only two of the past ten years we finish above 100% of our normal amount of snowfall. so hopefully this all continues and we do have a lot of snow in the forecast. as we go into the next couple of days, in fact, as we go through the next week or so, there could be another 37 to 86 inches of snowfall in those areas. so we'll continue to monitor that as more storms come in. and we'll talk about bay area rain coming up. mike has been tracking the roads, and it's still pretty sloppy out there. >> and we see the camera here from emeryville as it's looking ac

it was a really chilly weekend, kari. i was cold. >> the kids were really cold. >> you weren't as cold as i was in tahoe. >> i saw that. that was beautiful. >> it was snowing yesterday, and now we are seeing still some chilly temperatures lingering across parts of the bay area. behind that cold front that moved through. we also had the winds kicking up yesterday and it's going to be in the upper 30s as you step out the door. 38 degrees in santa rosa and 40 in san jose, upper 30s for the tri-valley. so we also have a frost advisory in effect. the winds have been kicking up pretty high, so that's keeping temperatures from dipping into the low 30s, but we are, once again, going to have cold mornings ahead. as we get a look at our temperatures over the next few days, it will continue to warm up, even though today we're reaching into the mid-50s. by the middle of the week it's going to be nice to see those low 60s. that's about the best we'll do this week. we'll talk more about that and when we could get rain in a few minutes.
