neighborhood.. those suspects then leading police on a chase for miles, before taking off on foot. sam sweneey is live in centreville where it all started. also breaking right now - a shooting investigation in temple hills.

shot multiple times on easton street- just off branch avenue. we're told he was taken to the hospital concious and breathing. abc7 crews on the scene also spotted some sort of vehicle accident. it's still unclear if that's releated to the shooting.

we learn more. this latest shooting comes as police officers in prince george's county are working longer shifts, after a sharp spike in murders. the most recent, happening this time yesterday morning. a young man - shot and killed in forestville. it's the county's 49th homicide so far this year. violent crime is up one hundred percent compared to this time last year. but, chief hank stawinski says many of these crimes aren't random. the chief says police will be working 12-hour shifts and focusing their attention on high risk areas. developing now - donald trump junior speaking out for the first time about his meeting with a russian lawyer and his emails about the encounter. in an interview with fox news, the president's son didn't admit to making a mistake, but said quote "i probably would have done things a little differently". trump junior says he agreed to the

thought the lawyer, natalia veselnitskaya, had dirt on hillary clinton. trump junior maintains he did nothing wrong. on capitol hill though - concern. democrats say the emails are a clear sign of collusion. even some republicans are expressing concern about trump jr's willingness to accept help from russians. and from the white house, a short statement from the president saying: "my son is a high quality person and i applaud his transparency." president trump's pick for f-b-i director, in the hot seat today. the senate judiciary committe will hold it's first confirmation hearing for "christopher wray". wray is expected to answer questions about the russia investigations and how he would handle working with the trump administration. the hearing gets underway at 9:30 this

wildfires breaking out in california. a blaze in san diego county quickly surged to over half a square mile.. forcing the closure of an interstate and the evacuation of multiple homes. in northern california - another new fire has already burned nearly two acres near the town of auburn. dozens of other wildfires are burning up and down the west coast. federal investigators are looking for clues after a miltiary plane crash that killed 15 marines and a navy sailor. debris from the kc-130 is scattered for miles across the mississippi countryside, suggesting there may have been some sort of explosion. but the cause is still unknown. missippi's governor is warning people not to remove any debris from the area. the victims have not
