6:15 am
>> 6.14, right now. it's if you don't have well, it should. i say it was a it was a tough battle, ok? it was tough long and i know waited go. there's no way to sugarcoat it. obviously, as you know, niners felt sorry was in the nfc championship. >> but it really was it was kind of we foresaw this from the very first drive that the niners had in the 1st quarter with pretty going down. without a quarterback is kind of hard to win a game yet. so that's kind of how the just 5th string. yeah, stuff. we've got kate rooney actually standing by live in this soon. kate, what how guess make us feel better oh, i wish i
6:16 am
could. but i'm standing surrounded by signs that say it's a philly thing. let us pray with the >> on it. so there's a lot of people wearing green around here today. i think most 40 niner fans are eager to just hop on their flights and get home as quickly as possible. this season came so close to feeling like a fairytale ending. but unfortunately, as mister relevant went from rewriting the rookie history books to seeing his storybook season end last night. at lincoln financial field, things are over for the forty-niners as well. qb brock purdy was able to throw just 4 passes in the game last night after he got hurt. he said after the game that he was experiencing extreme pain in his right elbow. that, of course, is his throwing elbow. so then journeyman quarterback josh johnson came in. he's the forty-niners backup was just signed with the team in dece ber. he's been on 20 different nfl teams. >> this one might be his last because he struggled and then was knocked out of the game with a concussion in a way after everything the team has been through with quarterback
6:17 am
position this season. it was a fitting it disappointing ending to the season. >> is jack to be able to be out there? i mean. he news i i'm not going throw the ball also. you might as well have fun. that's all those come just our message was. you know, half what else you got to do it's going to roll over and die or go out there and he found the physical and now. giving you can to put something on tape >> we found a brooks is kind of it differently. puts a damper on things. but we've been through it multiple times this year and we've prevailed. we stood a lot of hope. we can throw the ball and they know and they know that i'm not going to around the ball either because they're not that to happen is tough. definitely not. hey, john, up.
6:18 am
>> yeah. the players said they didn't really lose their confidence in till johnson was knocked out of the gate. at that point, you can kind of see the defense get deflated as well. they made a lot of mistakes. now, as for the health of party, he is set to have an mri today that he will know more about the extent of his injury. then they worry that it's an owner, collateral ligament that could be either stranger to be about a six-week recovery or torn, which might require surgery. so obviously hoping for the former either way. the quarterback position for the forty-niners is going to be one of the top story lines of the nfl offseason. so an interesting offseason to look forward to coming up in philadelphia. kate rooney kron 4 news quarterback talks been the all this next season to now the finger pointing begins. i know kyle shanahan get a little heat. >> this morning by some criticizing his play calling in. now sort of we've got to hope better for better next year. i guess kate. >> yeah, i think the criticism
6:19 am
of shanahan doesn't deserve reach the nfc championship with a third-string quarterback. so, you know, we'll see what happens in the next few weeks and months here. all right, lee, thank you very much, kate. >> now get warm. looks pretty all dressed up. that's what we need out this morning, in the bay area's just as gold, we can sympathize. i think a lot of us going to be all bundled up as well just as cold out there. we've got some upper 20's to low 30's for coal dust of temperatures this morning. it's clear it's calm and it is indeed very cold. your view from the east bay hills looking down at a really clear bay area this morning, we traded in the rain and upper elevation snowfall yesterday and push that further south down towards la. watch for that. if you're heading that direction here in the bay area, we've got nothing but sunshine ahead of us now with sun sunny, shiny day might make you think it's going to be warmer. but we're still going to be holding on to some pretty cold feeling. temperatures, even with all that sunshine. we've got frost advisories through the morning until 09:00am. and after that,
6:20 am
temperatures will begin to lift the only into the upper 40's to low 50's for most spots livermore. 49 degrees for your high today. san jose at 54. well, san francisco hayward and oakland beach 53 for your highs. a look ahead shows gradually warming conditions after today. so today is the coldest one of the forecast tomorrow morning. low should stay above freezing for most areas and daytime highs rising into the mid-fifties. we kick off february on wednesday with partly cloudy skies and mid 50's. the first weekend of the new month. getting a touch best chances of rain to low will be thursday night and again on sunday right now. john, thank you for that. well, we're tracking an accident. 5.80, eastbound that connector ramp to to 38 north. >> and so they've had to shut down that connector ramp. they are. you can see that's really the biggest issue we have over there in that area because traveling through the maze 8, 85 80 along 13, even 8.80, traveling through hayward. no major issues or delays. there. so there is a problem spot
6:21 am
again, 5.80, eastbound connector ramp to to 38 north in castro valley. >> hitting the road heading into the city. 17 minutes. mace that fremont street exit. how about the san mateo bridge? 80 to 1, 0, 1, 13 minutes traveling across towards the peninsula. let's check out some other drive times in the south bay, 30 minutes. 85 up towards menlo park. that's a long 101. well, 2, 80 still at the limit, 80 down towards know. pete is to 37 just under 25 minutes. darya. james, back to you. thank you. reyna 6.21. the fbi is investigating a surge in fentanyl poisoning deaths among young people and a possible link to social media. a popular app. authorities now. >> warning that snapchat could be the gateway to fentanyl access among teens. we've got ryan bass with the explanation. >> the fbi and justice department of targeted snapchat and its parent company looking into the social media platforms, possible role in the national fentanyl crisis, especially among teens, the popular photo investing app is known for its

>> now let's go to the peninsula where steph curry and his wife are asking atherton city leaders to stop construction on a townhome project proposed for their neighborhood in a letter sent to the mayor curry they will cited safety and privacy concerns as their reason for the request and it's just fun watching them on these game shows. i think today cooking in the kitchen, which i usually do. let me tell you why they are against this plan. they're asking the town to invest in. first of all, they're going to do this taller fencing and landscaping to block any view of their property. and they're not the only ones that are against this project. there's a number of other after 10 residents who have expressed concerns. so we'll keep you posted on to whether or not this ends up happening. this town home project. >> well, more developing news college students and professors across the country now grappling with a new form of artificial intelligence that's making it easier for students to cheat as some
