forty-niners. tonight it was a nice looking day out there as well because they've dealt with so many rainy games lately. and it's like, oh, my goodness, i'm never going to break. >> reese around riggins joining us now with a look at the forecast, a recent pay their debt well, yeah, getting a break from the rain, but we're still dealingrwith gusty winds out there in the bay area. so we do have a wind advisory in effect fro1 now through monday morning. >> may need to be extended for parts, especially for those of you in solano county just because we are still going to track some pretty breezy to gusty winds through about monday afternoon. but let's take a look right now. tonight, we are seeing winds out of the north over fairfield and out of the northwest. for those of you in downtown san francisco, 20 to 30 miles per hour. and we're tracking gusts in the 30 to nearly 40 miles per hour range throughout this evening. shortly before 11 o'clock tonight, winds will certainly be howling, especially for those of you at half moon bay and even for danville in the
8:11 pm
east bay valleys. but for those of you in solano county, we're going to see gusty winds, even after that wind advisory expires at 7 o'clock. so wouldn't be surprised if it gets extended specifically there with gusts in the 30 to near 50 miles per hour range. and we will notice calmer conditions as the day progresses on monday. but temperatures out there right now thanks to those warm, dry, offshore breezes widespread low to mid 50's and that warming trend going to continue for this upcoming workweek. more my full forecast in just a few minutes stand. well back to you. every said. thank you. still ahead, we continue our coverage on the deadly mass shooting in southern california are speaking to representatives. san francisco's chinese for affirmative action organization. >> on the repercussions of the horrific attack during a time of celebration. >> plus, vice president kamala harris announcing new federal protections for abortion rights well commemorating the 50th anniversary of the roe v wade ruling. >> but first, reading gold headed to the nfc

championship. kate rooney is live from santa clara for a recap of all the action. that's next. well, we didn't
8:13 pm
8:14 pm
forget about the niners game tonight. it was a pretty close game. but in the end, niners fans went home lots of big plays in this one, a defensive battle that included the circus catch from george kittle. >> kate rooney is joining us live tonight at levi stadium with more on how things played
8:15 pm
out in this divisional game. kate. >> hi, noel. some people thought that this might be a blowout because the forty-niners were that much better than the dallas cowboys. but turns out these 2 teams were very evenly matched. we've got ourselves a very close game, as you mentioned. and it was a defensive stand off early. it was only kickers who seem like they're scoring points in this one. maybe not extra points. if you're talking about the dallas side of things, but eventually things started to click and the forty-niners made some big big plays that would set them up to maintain their lead at the end of the game, you had interceptions from damage or lenoir. and fred warner and though it was the most pressure brock purdy has faced in his young career the forty-niners were able to get an up offense clicking in that 2nd half to put more points on the board. and therefore when the game. so now the forty-niners advance to their 3rd nfc championship. >> in 4 seasons, that is a remarkable feat in the nfl. but kyle shanahan said they still haven't reached their
8:16 pm
ultimate goal. and that is, of course, winning a super bowl. so is he excited about heading to the 3rd nfc championship in 4 years? well, that's not what he has to say. >> he worked so hard to get to these these situations and all we could think about was winning that game. and once we did, it's it's fun for a little bit. but it's more once again, the locker room. just all right now, let's move on to the next one because we know moment. we're in our lives right here, a whole team. and we've been here before and it's very hard to get here. so we're not really reflected on anything. and we've got a big game this weekend. that's not either. so in order to that, we've got to make sure we take care of business. >> that mentality of not celebrating the winds too much and not getting too low with the losses. either is part of what has made this team so successful over the years. however, all point out that the forty-niners haven't had to deal with a loss in a long time. the last time they lost was back on october 23rd before halloween. we're
8:17 pm
talking almost 3 months here. so pretty impressive streak of 12 straight wins for the forty-niners will try to keep it going next week and philly. that game is set for 12:00pm pacific on sunday. well, dan, back to you. >> i'd love to see them get. yeah. haha. more w's here. oh, man. it's going to be a top one next week. thanks a lot, kate. will the history behind this rivalry against the cowboys was not lost on the fans of either franchise 3 times in a row. now red and gold have emerged victorious against the cowboys. >> or should we say the pink and gold kron 4 sarah stinson joining us also for levi stadium tonight to explain exactly what we mean by that pink and gold. >> no, well, i heard it all today. a lot of smack talk between the cowboys and the niners. levi's stadium was packed with both sides going back and forth. so pink and gold is what the cowboys fans were saying. you know, saying we're cici's wearing pink and then us niners fans. we're saying we're playing the
8:18 pm
cowgirls. but in the end. >> the niners >> let's do it. not a bite eat. >> so what this fall? >> energy coming in the faithful was electric. but cowboys fans walking out of levi stadium, walked out visibly defeated public. then for it. 25 years worst. there was the worst. i mean, you saw the defense go back and forth. defense was on point offense better. they do anything 0.19 points and cowboy hat. 12.9 kids always best. the cowboys still no chance. the multi-generation rivalry started early in the day at the tailgate
8:19 pm
>> going on for years. ever way back says the catch would like the parking lot was filled with fans. i'm going tell you all the i feel a lot of blue. >> we came here is a lot of pain can go down here that we don't condone gold glove how you serious can this rivalry. has some families divided, including this couple has been dating for 8 months for that. first time i saw him. do we get home? whoever wins is not going to be smack talk another couple was dealing with the same situation walking out of the stadium after the niners win for their last year at atnt. >> and course last you guys you guys get a lot better. so we'll see you next but you're >> niners fans are confident we're going to take it all the way to the super
8:20 pm
>> and we love the enthusiasm. unfortunately, all those fans are gone. they're sitting in traffic after enjoying this. incredible when, you know, the niners are hoping that we can get to another nfc champion status. this is my hat from 2019. i covered it. and speaking of swagg a pick the right swagg. today i bought a kindle jersey can see right here kittle and it was a good day to do so after that 30 yard game. what a catch by candle. an incredible game defense on either side. dan and noelle, it's going to be incredible game against philly coming up. can't wait. >> like you said, sarah, they were electric. those fans. thank you for that live report. she had her being a on. she yeah, it's probably pretty cold out there right what, unfortunately, because of the wind advisory, a little bit milder right now. so, yes, sarah got the best assignment
8:21 pm
today. i think gate. let's take a look at your but coastal flood advisory. in addition to that wind advisory still dealing with some flooding issues because of those king tides, low-lying areas, especially in and around the bay area, shoreline in bay area coastline. >> that's going to remain in effect through 3 o'clock for your monday afternoon. high tide time will be out around noon and that's when we're going to see the high tide slightly less than 7 feet. so just keep that in mind. just one more day to go. and then we're officially going to expire that coastal flood advisory. but we are noticing low tide out there right now this evening for half moon bay and temperatures actually warmed up thanks to those warm, dry, northerly winds in the low 60's for oakland, san jose and santa rosa. so let's take a look at radar for out there right now. very dry, clear, calm conditions, but we are still noticing some spots that are pretty localized with gusty winds along the coast and east bay shoreline. so just keep that in mind.
8:22 pm
temperatures, though, for the most part, thanks to those warm dry breeze is it's almost like a hairdryer going on in the bay area. and with that, we're seeing temperatures in the low to mid 50's san jose. 52 degrees mid 50's for downtown san francisco and oakland and even nevada. but those of you in fairfax, calmer winds speeds there. 46 degrees in concord. 49 degrees. as you step outside for your sunday night. so fortunately, we're going to see a lot more 40's for overnight lows as opposed to the 30's that we have been tracking. so no freeze warnings in effect tonight, santa rose in the mid 30's as his livermore with downtown san francisco in half moon bay. a little bit milder as well. cooling down into the mid 40's. so temperatures tomorrow we're tracking widespread upper 50's to low 60's. pretty seasonal temperatures. but those of you in novato and even santa rosa, you're going to be a few degrees above average santa rosa get you're actually going to warm up to 63 degrees to start your work week monday. that warming trend going to
8:23 pm
continue for most of the week, especially wednesday and thursday until we gradually start to cool down by a week from today. next sunday with approaching storms arriving that following monday and tuesday. so looks like the storm doors going to reopen 10 days from now. but for the next 7 days, dry and clear. back to you, dan and well, theresa, thank strain service will resume normal operations tomorrow all morning and evening. trains will be running as normal service was halted last week. >> after 2 mudslides in niles canyon compromised the tracks. crews have since cleared those tracks and evaluated the hill slide allowing service to return to normal tomorrow morning. a strain says union pacific will actually operate ahead of strains for further inspection. >> still to come are continuing our coverage on the deadly mass shooting in southern california. how officials here are making sure the chinese new year celebrations go on safely. plus, it's been 50 years. >> since the now overturn roe

condolences. our heart goes out to the victims. many of whom are are some critical care. and of course, are in our has been devastated by the news. >> so remains unknown. but what we do know is that this is this happened in the wake. almost 3 years of heightened fears of being being harassed. >> and in some cases experiencing violence. and so >> that context really in this instance. and of course, we'll know more about the motives. but regardless, i think it's really important to name there's bten fear and this has been a traumatizing period and this incident certainly adds to that. >> i'm cynthia, you mention the shared pain and of course,
8:34 pm
the trauma that has been suffered there in the api community. again, we don't know a motive for what happened here, but we do know is that somebody took weapons weapons that were possibly illegal and brought them into a dance hall and shot 20 people killing 10 of them. so what are your thoughts and what happened? >> well, again, so much remains unknown. but do know is that we have a problem with gun not only mass shootings, but also everyday violence. and this is something that we have to confront ss a society we also should just urge our community members to also keep in mind guns do not make us safer. and so during this period where we're really reeling from this massive tragedy that we do need to focus on these larger issues of having access to guns, this
8:35 pm
is a huge issue for our with regard to i'm the kind of carnage that this it's dance halls, its schools, its grocery that there is a sense that no place is safe and we really have to change the conditions. >> well, and speaking on that, of course, celebrations large gatherings are going to be continuing over the next couple of weeks the community celebrates lunar new year. what is your advice to those who will be gathering with their family and friends? >> well, this is supposed to be a celebratory time. i know our family spent the last few days coming together. i'm looking forward to what's ahead and peas, common prosperity. and of course, this is a very, very bittersweet time. we have many celebrations ahead. today was
8:36 pm
the kickoff. and i know that it will be difficult. this would be hanging over our heads. will we be safe in public spaces? and i think we do have to hang on to this idea of and that we together as a community will rise against all forms of violence. and this is what encourage our viewers and our community. to do. >> cynthia choi with stop aap. i hate and also the co executive director for chinese affirmative action. thank you so much for joining us tonight. >> thank you. >> we want to get your check of your 4 zone. forecast is a live look at the richmond. sandra fell bridge. i feel like one of the last times i saw this bridge was last week and it was raining. yeah. see anything obviously clear tonight. but we're writing, yeah, when right, right yeah, we do. in fact, we have a wind advisory in effect now through 7 o'clock monday morning. so we're going to see. >> winds from coastal valleys really peaking for our highest

8:45 pm
>> it was the biggest rivalry in the nfl in the 90's and it gave niners fans a lot of nostalgia during the buildup all week long. some good. some not so good. it was the 9th time the niners and cowboys have met in the postseason and nfl record and while it wasn't an offensive explosion or a leap, leaving the niners found a way to grind it out against a tough defense and really being able to do that, maybe more impressive than doing a pretty stuff. let's head to santa clara brock purdy making his second playoff started looking for his 7th straight win and he was solid today. we pick things up in the 3rd quarter game is tied at 9 purdy rolls out. who is left improvising in fines. george kittle across the middle of the field and kittle makes about as good as it catches you'll ever see. he's so good in that play would set up this plate. second goal christian

8:47 pm
are a 2 point early favorite, but the niners, obviously hottest team in the nfl. 12 straight wins. something's got to give right. >> well, it's going to be an interesting contest. that's for sure. we knew today would pit 2 of the toughest defenses in the nfl against each other. we knew special teams to be a factor we knew would be the most pressure. brock purdy he's faced in his young nfl career. all of that came true. what we didn't know was that the forty-niners would be held to just 27 yards, rushing in the 2nd half and really have ir work to reestablish t signature ground game in the 2nd half of this ball game. and it's only going to get harder next week when they head to philadelphia because the eagles have been the most consistent team in the nfc all year long and after the game, kyle shanahan said this team is no joke. they got to start getting ready right now. >> i think we've got a pretty good got very talented team. also team that plays well i know they do have been as good
