6:00 pm
measuring it in seconds at this point. we'll be back tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. the show that is the sworn and totally sincere enemy of lying, mugness and group think. have a great night with the ones you love. sean hannity is standing by from washington d.c. >> sean: great to see you, tucker. welcome to "hannity." we're live in the swamp, the sewer that is washington d.c. tonight i can regard the sky is absolutely falling. we're all doomed. the end is near. the apocalypse is eminent and you're all going to die, all of you in the next 48 hours and it's all president trump's fault. or at least that's what the media mob and the democratic extreme radical socialist party would like you to think. they're sadly politicizing and weaponizing an infection disease. what is basically the next effort to bludgeon president trump. they're all rooting for coronavirus to wreak havoc in
6:01 pm
the united states why? to score cheap repulsive political points. let's look at this. we have an obligation. this is who we are as a people to do everything possible to keep every single american and frankly everyone worldwide safe and healthy. this is who we are as americans, this is what we do. we pray for the sick, pray for the families that lost loved ones. that's also who we are as a people. we want a cure for aids, cancer, heart disease and every other disease and affliction and we have with our american doctors and researchers, we have led the entire world and we have literally shared all of our discoveries all over with the entire world because that's who we are as a people. but tonight, the fear mongering the off the charts. now we have some on the left literally whipping this country into a frenzy. some promoting extreme measures immediately. close schools, day care centers,
6:02 pm
businesses, mass transit systems and the cancellation of any large gathering. now, if things do get dramatically worse, may come to that. we're nowhere near that point as of tonight thankfully. however, according to the mob and the media, your life is about to be horrible and it's all donald trump's fault. one "new york times" opinion columnist called the coronavirus the trump virus writing if you're feeling awful, you know who to blame. did donald trump create this in a lap somewhere? another articles complaining that trump has a problem with the coronavirus, threatens the u.s., his credibility. fake news, cnn's official hannity stalker got very melodramatic tweeting out sips the dawn of the trump era, countless experts have warned the president's lack of credibility would imperil the
6:03 pm
country in the event of an emergency. as the coronavirus outbreak worsens, the fears are coming true. humpty, it's quivering with fear with oliver assistant somebody. he's a stalker. they seem to be hoping for panic, chaos, mass panic, devastation and even an economic catastrophe. if it's bad for trump, probably going to be good for us politically. is that the think something they seem to be giddy on wall street's decline. wall street is always skittish. do they care about you or the 401(k)s? what have they done the last three years except hate donald trump every second, every minute, every 24 hour day, week, month? that's what they do. anyway, you be the judge. take a look. >> donald trump's pre decessors understand when the nation felt fear. it was a shooting, a death, they
6:04 pm
had empathy. donald trump renewses to recognize that fear and there's going to be a growing chasm. >> we all know that president trump in the course of his service has disrespected science and scientists, has told an awful lot of untruths. >> japan, the prime minister there asked all public schools to shut down for a month. that's how serious it is there. imagine if that happened here. >> also a reminder today has been a game changer. >> it's shameful. puts forth a proposal that is meager anemic. >> four words. describe the administration's response to the coronavirus, towering and dangerous incompetence. >> sean: never let a good tragedy or virus go to waste. according to the mob, i've been telling you, if the dog bites, if you're feeling sad, it's
6:05 pm
president trump's fault. if president donald trump cured cancer tomorrow, the left would want to impeach him because he consulted with a russian scientist. the same people wouldn't find one good word to say when iran's top terrorist, soleimani, was taken out by president trump. now we're seeing the say brand of petty politics. look, if we can't get the left to unite and the media to unite on killing a mass terrorist who kills hundreds of our fellow citizens, if we can't work together to keep our country safe from illness, disease and a virus, there's nothing we'll ever agree on. many top democrats are spreading the lie that president trump cut the budget for the nih and cdc. hate to tell you. that is a law according to the ap and their fact check. the funding has increased under the president. why let the truth get away?
6:06 pm
make no mistake. coronavirus is dangerous. those infected are contagious before they show symptoms. they don't know they have it. the rapid spread is concerning. the president, he has been taking it seriously from day one. way back in january, way before the democrats seem to care about the coronavirus, the white house declared a public health emergency. and then you might recall, the president barred non-u.s. citizens who recently visited from china from entering the united states. wow, that's something that the left and the mob would say is bigoted. he's been on top of this fully engaged from day one. all americans returning from china were subject to extensive screenings and quarantines. again, something the left wouldn't do. today zero people in the united states of america have died from the coronavirus. zero. now, let's put this in
6:07 pm
perspective. in 2017, 61,000 people in this country died from influenza, the flu. common flu. around 100 people die every day from car wrecks. of course it's tragic. but despite what you hear, the world is not coming to an end. it's serious, of course. and as the disease continues to spread, the president has requested billions of dollars in additional funding. he's appointed the vice president to lead the response. the vice president is calling on all americans to work together to combat this infection disease. democrats, the media mob, they're having none of that. instead, they're more interested in launching vile, vicious personal attacks for cheap political points. self-appointed science expert. remember that congresswoman that predicted the world was going to end in 12 years? alexandria ocasio-cortez tweeted out, mike pence literally does not believe in science. it is utterly irresponsible to put him in charge of the
6:08 pm
coronavirus response as the world sits on the cusp of a pandemic. this decision could cost lives. then she has bolshevik bernie that wrote, by picking vice president mike pence to lead the administration's response to the pandemic, trump has not only chosen someone unqualified but the president made clear he's more concerned act his own politics than the health and safety of the country. basically saying the president wants you to die. we can only assume that all of this and the following statements will be praising communist dictator ships around the world for stomping out the disease from their socialist hell holes the ones that kill people, innocent people and steal their property. sadly the political vitreal continued on tv and we have the video evidence. >> is that the person that you want in charge of the
6:09 pm
coronavirus outbreak? somebody that needs to prey on something instead of looking at the science? >> why is mike pence in charge? what is his plan to stop the virus? cabstinenc abstinence? >> we're not aware of any evidence that indicates mike pence can do it. >> vice president pence will join us to respond to these attacks and discuss the details how this administration is aggressively responding to coronavirus. it's clear. the left psychosis, their rage is reaching new depths of depravity. they want to reclaim their power and destroy president trump, they're treating a deadly virus like a political weapon, a tool. it's shameful behavior. shouldn't surprise us after we watched and witnesses the last three years. it does hurt the country, does nothing to stop the spread of coronavirus. a perfect example, this coming
quote
6:10 pm
from elizabeth warren. her plan to battle coronavirus is to stop the construction of trump's racist border wall. these people are not well. let's be honest. they don't have good intentions. what have they done to keep us safe and security and create prosperity for the american people? nothing except hate the president. they don't have good plans or ideas. they don't have any strong candidates. all they do is rainfall towards the president. it's a blood thirsty lust for power and really ugly and sick and dangerous. joining us now, house minority leader, kevin mccarthy. i'm afraid i'm going to get the sewer swamp coverage. what i love about this country, we have the best. we have the brightest. we find cures for disease. we share treatments for disease. the president has been all in since january. the president literally said nope, you're not coming in from that country.
6:11 pm
i don't remember democrats saying anything but bad things when the president did that. >> what is amazing to me, i've been down to the white house for bipartisan meetings with the entire team there. we're going to have our fourth briefing of the entire congress tomorrow on this. the other thing that you found is, we've been preparing for this. when the republicans were in the majority, we funded nih and cdc, increased it by $20 billion. you know what we created? the infectious disease rapid response fund so when this day came. we've been preparing for this. the president took positions that they opposed to and very smart on his part. >> sean: and he gets criticized for that. >> a lot of this is called out by governors. what was the vice president before? he was a governor. he had some of these crisis in his own state. so it's better to have somebody that understands government, has all of the experts, the science and others. what is happening in china
6:12 pm
today? >> sean: they're criticizing him. he didn't support the needle exchange program. it will illegal in his state and he still was able to make it work. i'm not a big supporter of it either. >> how great our healthcare system is. in china, it's american company's medicine that is being tested to treat those with it. we'll solve this problem. the worst thing can happen is what the democrats are doing. we've seen it before. they can't beat him so that bash him. this time it's about coronavirus. >> sean: it's scary. i understand. of course we pray for the people that have lost loved ones. but we do have the ability more than any other nation. a company in massachusetts that is already -- they think they have developed a vaccine. they think they can begin human trials i believe in april. that's how great they are. >> you know what we should be doing? knocking down red tape.
6:13 pm
allow the companies to move fast tore protect americans. you have gilliad with how to treat somebody in china. company after company. american companies. the worst part is, if the democrats have their way with their hr-3, you know what would happen? we wouldn't have the cures. they would deny them from being able to invest. >> sean: a lot at stake in 250 days. politicizing a virus. >> they're making it political because they're worried about the majority. if you saw this change, take the house and change the course of this. have real leaders -- how did we act with ebola? >> sean: will that end investigations? impeachment. bludgeoning the president every hour of every day. >> it will have a house that will work for america. they won't blame america. put america first. work with the idea of the citizens that we believe we're better that america is more than a country. america is an idea. >> sean: that might be refreshing. the president might have a free year of not being investigated.
6:14 pm
>> takethehouse.com. you can do it. >> sean: we have dan bongino and geraldo rivera. dan, i saw you had a battle at cpac today. i know you're great at arguing. the serious side, geraldo. of course we want -- we lead the world in finding cures and treatments for disease, geraldo. we share it with the world. it's who we are. it defines us. we have the best scientists, the best medical experts. amazing work that they have done. this even, even this, is weaponized to bludgeon the president. >> i was deeply disappointed by speaker pelosi and by the minority leader of the senate, chuck schumer. the senator from new york. really was way out of line to go out of their way to really tell
6:15 pm
mistruths. i don't want to call them lies. that word -- >> sean: that would be a lie, geraldo. that's like can lacking candor. it's a lie. >> the effort is fully funded. we understand it. this is an apolitical virus, this is the opportunity for americans from all political strifes to get together to face this crisis. but to in any way minimize what is going on i think is a mistake. i think pence was a good selection, the vice president. he's being ridiculed. on the other hand, who did president obama pick to guide us through ebola, ron mcclain. talk about someone that is out of the loop. at least pence has the gravity of being the second highest ranking official in the country. and having said that, i do think that our friend, president trump, was too cool for school when i interviewed him two weeks
6:16 pm
ago. he said april, weather will be warming. the weather will take care of this for us. i don't think that he was worried about rattling the markets. the markets have been profoundly rattled. so i think it would have been better if he were more energetic, more pointed and forceful. >> sean: in the super bowl, he said he already offered china all of our expertise, all of our resources. dan bongino, all of our help. >> yeah. i think that's a horrible analysis, geraldo. what do you want the president to do? we've had less than 1,000 cases in the united states. you want him to panic the population? i don't know what else you wanted him to do. he enacted a travel ban. he was lied about on cnn -- hold on, about the racial diversity of the task force he implemented. he's been lied about -- they are lies. they're not mistruths. they said cdc funding had been cut. it's a lie.
6:17 pm
liberals should crack a book. the president did what he needed to do. i'm not saying you can't be critical of a response. the president is open to it. but suggesting that he was down playing it for the markets? geraldo, that's responsible and gross. that's not what he did at all. >> dan, you have a way of screwing everything i say in the most evil way possible. you're like the critics of the president in your hyperbole. here's an example. >> it's your words. >> ladies and gentlemen, this is the real threat, but it's a threat that is not manifests itself. the common flu so far this year has killed 105 american children. that's the flu that we all know. get your flu shot, wash your hands and take it seriously and be confident that we're doing everything in our power -- >> that's what he said. >> sean: i have to move on.
6:18 pm
thank you both. >> that's what the president said, geraldo. >> sean: appreciate it, both of you. joining us now with reaction, former house speaker, newt gingrich. your reaction to all of this. i would think that killing a terrorist has been number 1 state sponsor of terror, that might unite america for a few seconds. maybe a virus that, you know what? it's dangerous and worldwide. the response could be bipartisan but parentally not. >> well, look, i think there's a great irony in that the radical democrats who would destroy the pharmaceutical industry have to confront the fact that if there's any hope for china, it's probably american pharmaceuticals. if there's hope for america, which there is, it's american pharmaceuticals. the fact is our researchers, our scientists are doing an amazing job moving with great speed.
6:19 pm
we have in the centers for disease control the gold standard for public health in the world. we have the gold standard for research and biological medicines. it's just amazing to watch the it utter total dishonesty of the democratic leadership that said i know donald trump did something terrible. i wonder what it is. in this case to not even have a couple of days of a truce to make sure that we have the right public health response. let me say, mike pence has been an extraordinary leader of the space council, brought together the creation of the space information, has developed a program to get to the moon and mars. we know he's a good manager. we know he has real capabilities. i think he will do a great job on this task force. >> sean: let me -- as it relates to what the long-term plan has to be, we have hope already with
6:20 pm
this company in massachusetts they have identified the ability to make the vaccine here, which is great, human trials starting soon. but certainly when the president says we're closing the border to nations that are experiencing greater infection rates, that's not something the left supports. to them that is racist, bigotry. we need open borders. >> look, i think the great irony of all of this is that the city of san francisco in its irresponsible way has already declared an emergency even though no one in san francisco has so far shown this they have the disease. ask yourself this. you have 40 or 50,000 homeless people, how are you going to quarantine them? what are you -- >> sean: what is -- after all three years of never-ending hate trump investigations, conspiracies, rage, what is the outcome of this? >> well, i think the democrats
6:21 pm
continue as they did the other night in their debate, they continue to shrink. they continue to get smaller, narrower, nastier, more partisan. i think president trump and vice president pence continue to grow as leaders who are focused on really saving american lives and helping frankly save chinese and korean and other lives. if there's a real risk here, it's to the economy because of the tremendous damage to the chinese economy. that is part of what the president has to focus on. >> sean: that and wall street skittish, understandable, predictable but hopefully not long-term. when we come back, my exclusive interview with the vice president, mike pence about his role with the coronavirus and the great one, mark levin as we continue. i have huge money saving news for veterans. mortgage rates just dropped to near 50-year lows. one call to newday usa can save you $2,000 every year. and once you refinance, the savings are automatic.

quote
6:26 pm
>> sean: fears growing about the spread of the coronavirus, president trump announced that vice president mike pence will be placed in charge of speed heading the government's response. i had a chance to speak with him at cpac. let take a look. >> sean: good to see you. let's take coronavirus. "new york times." your favorite paper. opinion piece. let's call it the trump virus. if you're feeling awful, you know who to blame. i look at the media reaction to this, the democrats reaction and it's instantaneous that they're politicizing what is obviously a serious issue. your reaction. >> president made it clear yesterday,we're all in this together. this is not the time for politics. after the president asked me to lead the effort on the coronavirus response from the white house, working with the
6:27 pm
task force that he established. now 1 1/2 months ago, working with state, government officials and local and health officials, the president also directed me to reach out. i spoke to speaker pelosi. i spoke to senator schumer. >> sean: how did those conversations good? >> they were good. >> sean: they were politsizing it almost instantaneously. >> i know. but the president said reach out to them. put the politics aside. get the resources that we need to respond to this to make sure the cdc, all of our agencies have the support that they need, the states have the support should this matter become more serious. you know, the president's message is clear. we're ready. ready for anything. we continue to prepare for whatever may come, but the reality is that because of the
6:28 pm
actions of president trump took last month, literally ending travel, closing our borders to people coming in from china, establishing a quarantine process, setting up a task force. if the president hadn't taken those unprecedented steps, we'd be in a different place today, sean. >> sean: you mentioned pelosi and schumer. both have been critical of the president on this. about the money and it's shameful. i don't think they supported closing off people coming in the country from some of these countries. >> look, there was criticism last month. but when we first received word of the outbreak of the coronavirus shortly after the first of the year, the health team came in. i was there in the oval office. they said to the president, looks, what we ought to do is end air travel, close our border and we ought to establish a quarantining process for any american citizens that we allow back in. they said no president has ever
6:29 pm
done this before but we're recommending out of an abundance of caution to do it. president trump didn't hesitate for one second. he said do it. it was criticized by some at the time. but as i said, our health experts told me again yesterday when we huddled right after that press briefing for the first time. they said we would be in a very different place today if president trump hadn't taken the decisive action that we had. today, you know, we haven't had a new case for the last two weeks until the word that reached the public in the last 24 hours. we've had 15 cases in this country. people are beating treated and doing well. one is still in the hospital. the other 45 cases are all american citizens that we brought back home, went through a quarantining process, monitoring them. so i take my hat off to the president's leadership as well as secretary azar, the team at cdc, homeland security.
6:30 pm
this has been a whole of government approach. when the president tapped me to lead the white house effort on this, it demonstrated again to the public the seriousness the president has placed on this. he's telling us to lean in to this effort out of an abundance of caution. he has no higher priority of the health and safety of the american people. >> sean: your criticized out of the box. when you were in indiana as governor, the issue of needle exchange came up with hiv. i don't know if you would care that a congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez, you don't believe in science. needle exchange programs are pretty controversial. it was a tough call for you at the time. what does it mean all hands on deck? do you think the democrats will really work with you or are they looking at yet another opportunity to just slam donald trump? i say on the program often that if donald trump cured cancer, they would want to impeach him
6:31 pm
for that. obviously a little hyperbole, but i sense a certain truth in it. people see a political advantage oh, this guy to be bigger or it impacts the markets even more. >> well, we want to hope for better. we hope for a better outcome on this issue clinically, the spread of the virus. the president said we're ready for anything. we continue to hope that we'll see not just republicans but democrats dial down the rhetoric and come alongside the president as we work the problem. that's going to be our objective. we'll be working on capitol hill with people in both police call parties. >> sean: you did see the "wall street journal." the company out of massachusetts a feel they may have a track to a vaccine on this. >> that's all part of this equation. but you know, i would say, i spent 12 years in congress.
6:32 pm
i know how political the place can be. it seems more divided now than ever before. but i will tell you in my conversations with republican and democratic leaders, i think we have an opportunity, we have an opportunity to do exactly what the american people want us to do. that is keep the politics out of this, follow the facts, follow the science and work the problem. one of the reasons the president asked me to do this is precisely because of two different incidents in the state of indiana. in 2014, indiana was where the very first mrsa case emerged in the country. it's more dangerous than coronavirus. as governor of the state of indiana, saw the way that local government, law enforcement, health officials and the cdc can work in concert. we secured that patient, we worked backwards to anybody that they contacted and there were no further infections. in 2015, we did have in a small
6:33 pm
town in indiana a rise in incidents of hiv aids. it was all directly coming from people sharing needles and intravenous drug use. i don't believe in needle exchanges as a way to combat drug abuse but in this case we came to the conclusion that we had a public health emergency and so i took executive action to make a limited needle exchange available -- >> sean: at that time in that location. >> at that time and that location. indiana would go on to change the law to mirror what as i had taken, but it was a moment where we had brought all of the resources to bear, first from a health perspective a law enforcement perspective and i'm glad to say that we got all of those people treated, everyone
6:34 pm
got support and help and we move forward and the community recovered. >> sean: for the american people that are worried, concerned, reading about this potentially spiralling out of control. the impact on their 401(k)s, the stock market obviously, the concerns about the global economy. you say to them today. >> the risk of the spread of the coronavirus in the united states of america remains low. that's considering to all of our experts and a direct result of the unprecedented action that president trump took last month when he closed our border to chinese individuals coming in to the country and established a quarantining effort. our white house coronavirus task force is literally meeting every day for the last six weeks. the american people can be confident that we're going to bring at the president's direction the full resources of the federal government to bear to protect the people of this country. that being said, during this
6:35 pm
time of year, engage in best practices. go to cdc.gov to get the latest information on this virus and see to health of their family and community. >> vice president, thanks for being with us. >> thanks, sean. >> sean: good to see you. coming up, megan mccain had to scold members of "the view" audience as they appeared to root for pence to fail on the coronavirus outbreak. can't make this up. the great one, mark levin is back! next. you ever wish you weren't a motaur? sure. sometimes i wish i had legs like you. yeah, like a regular person. no. still half bike/half man, just the opposite. oh, so the legs on the bottom and motorcycle on the top? yeah. yeah, i could see that. for those who were born to ride, there's progressive.

6:39 pm
>> sean: all right. the desperate radical extreme democratic party, the media mob politicizing the coronavirus threat. "the view" isn't helping.
6:40 pm
megan mccain scolded her cost host and the audience for clapping. >> you need to put people in charge that know what to do. >> part of the problem is the narrative. >> will pence be the sack official lamb? that will be the end of his career. >> we know that mike pence -- >> he's younger. >> he has covered for him in the past. he's a loyalist. i think trump needed someone in that position just in case things go bad. >> yeah. that's what i said. >> if it's bad, it's bad for all of us. clapping is bad -- >> i don't like the politicizing of this. >> sean: he's back. author of "the new york times" number 1 best center, "unfreedom of the press", the great one, mark levin. i watch this great one. i'm thinking we can't unite overkilling a terrorist by the name of soleimani and here we have a virus and we're the best
6:41 pm
in the world curing things and can't unite over that? if people get sick and the stock market tanks, we may have a chance to win in 2020. >> i realize this. there's a lot of stupid people on tv. the last people i want playing doctor with me or the american people are chuck schumer and nancy pelosi. they attack the president of the united states, not one negative word for the dictator of china. the way they mishandled this entire thing. in fact, you have bloomberg out there praising china, thomas freedman with 1,200 pulitzer prizes praising china. are they tracing china now? there's no cdc cuts. there's been increases. gets the facts out. certain individuals have been quarantined by this president. the white house, coronavirus task force, was appointed over a month ago. the president temporarily suspended entry into the united states is. i put this list together of
6:42 pm
foreign nationals that pose a wrist of transmitting the coronavirus. what is the democrats done during this period of time? the democrats. from january 16 to february 5, the united states senate was paralyzed by the house democrats and chuck schumer and nancy pelosi with this outrageous impeachment trial where the senators had to sit on their hands, shut their mouths and couldn't pass a bill to increase funding. they want more funding. they couldn't do it. pelosi and schumer shut down the congress. they don't want to talk about that, do they? the democrats, they go to the microphone and they attack. not just the president. the professionals. the cdc, the nih, the hhs. they don't know anything. what is their plan? what the the schumer-pelosi-klobuchar- bloomberg whatever plans?
6:43 pm
they have great plans. open boarders, eliminate ice, no veteran of foreigners, sanctuary cities, naturalize and destroy the greatest healthcare system, destroyed our pharmaceutical companies. that will come up with the solutions. the solutions won't be bernie sanders favorite communist regim regimes. they won't from the scandinavian companies. they'll come from us, capitolism. what do they support? massive taxes. what is their containment plan? they don't have one. they have no vaccination plan. meanwhile they attack the president of the united states. the answers won't come from the liberals and the democrats, which is why they attack. something shocking happened the other day, sean hannity. there was an a.p. fact check. the national institutes of health and the centers for disease control and prevention they say are not suffering from budget cuts that never took effect. yet you listen to schumer. he wants $8.5 billion.
6:44 pm
for what? he can't even tell you, dr. schumer. they say the money the government used to fight the latest outbreak was a congressional fund created for health emergencies in the past. some public health experts say a bigger concerns that white house budgets is the steady erosion of a cdc grant program for state and local preparedness. you know what happened? they cut it. past congresses. before this president even took office. they say the broader point about there being nobody here in charge, hearing pelosi say that to coordinate the response sell short what is in place. they have a whole system in place. a pandemic system in place that automatically triggers -- they have an automatic system in place. the president doesn't have to trigger it. it's at work right now. you have independent health authorities like john orbach.
6:45 pm
