so ross tell us a bit more about what the pentagon's been saying about this incident. well we just heard from the pentagon terrine and they're saying that they cannot confirm what is being reported by the associated press that according to an unnamed u.s. official the initial assessment by the u.s. military at the request of the united arab emirates is that it is highly likely but not confirmed that iranian or iranian proxies were behind the attack on 4 vessels including one. 2 saudi vessels and one emirates the vessel in which all 4 of these ships were were hit with some sort of explosive and they all have a $5.00 to $10.00 foot wide hole at the waterline of their vessels none of the vessel sank but certainly they were crippled and had to be brought out of service there all that will be confirmed by the state department is that at the request of the u.a.e. the u.s. military is helping with an investigation so again no confirmation to al-jazeera from the pentagon that this initial assessment has been reached but it is out there in the in other press reports so we shoul
