let's go to sam sweeney. sam: an unprecedented scene at the down to accommodate all of these stranded airplanes. they finally got them empty late last night, people coming in from moscow, argentina, people brought into the terminal and there was no help because a number of these airlines do not actually have service at the less, so they had no -- dulles, so they had no staff to handle it. the metropolitan airport authority did a wonderful job. many people were sleeping on boxes, but the airport staff got them food and blankets to get them through the night. some people chose to go hotels. a number of them were put on buses up to jfk without their luggage and it could be days before their passengers see their luggage. we just did a tour of the tarmac and we will have another report coming up at 4:00. reporting live, sam sweeney. adrianna: let's get to some live pictures of new york city
