and here are the numbers over san rafael as the storm totals two inches of rain in san francisco. it's not the amount. it's the way that it has fallen, and it fell in a very short amount of time for downtown san francisco. and one inch of rain fell between 12:43 and 1:43 p.m. today. that sounds random. it's when the official sensor takes their hourly observation, but that one inch of rainfall is something that statistically is suppose to occur once every ten years. so it has a 10% chance of happening on a year-by-year basis. the thing is we would have a similar intense rain event just three weeks ago on january 31. so two events that will occur within the space of three weeks of each other. that's when we would talk about climate change and it's not everything getting warmer, but weirder, these extreme events that will become more extreme themselves. and we'll track the rain and a few dry days later this week in a few minutes. >> thanks, paul. >>> the snow will continue to pile up in the sierra, donor's ski ranch. looking good right there where people were hitting the slopes this
