president trump did a cnn town hall, as well, and calls reporters on their cell phones. not shying away from engaging with the mainstream media. with the desantis campaign, they want to test and see if this parallel conservative media ecosystem, if it is big enough to sustain a presidential launch. can he speak to only folks who are more sympathetic, more aligned with what he is thinking about, completely staying away from the mainstream media outlets? no prospects yet for a town hall or engaging heavily with mainstream media, although some of his staff are beginning to do that. it's a test now to see if that will work. that was unveiled in the twitter spaces yesterday. technical glitches aside, it is an interesting strategy to watch as the primary kicks off in earnest. >> follow to that, nick, is there any sense of a campaign schedule from desantis? there was talk of having a kickoff rally in his hometown in florida. that's apparently being scuttled. when will we see him on the road interacting with voters? >> that's the great question. as the previous reporter touched
