down around st. mary's county and the northern neck. no o a lot going we do have stronger storms to the south. i want to show you this. severe storms and most of new jersey under a severe thunderstorm warning right now and then you've got storms bendeen our area roanoke. these are trying to move up north towards our region, so in our southern zone, talking about areas like culpepper and fredericks burks you folks have better chance of seeing storms. we're not seeing a lot here. we actually got a pretty good break. i'm going to wait and see if we can get m somere development here over the next one to two hours. this will be this area right ere that comes in overnig tonight and really gives us a lot of rain. because of that we have a flash flood watch in effect and still a lot gng on. t out of the woods just yet, but i think as far as the rush goes, the evening rush, weather-wise, we're looking good two hours. one to >> good to know. thank you, doug. even as we have more storms approaching, local in our area are still cleaning up after a line of storms that moved through last night.

outside d.c. superior court whe the suspect inhat case made his first courtra appeae. mark? >> good afternoon, leon. that happened about an hour and a half ago. the suspect told the judge hes wa shooting in self-defense and the judge did not buy it and held him without bond until the next court date that. opened up the floodgates and the shooting in what turned out to be an extremely violent weekend. four days of violence. four days of gunfire. since thursday seven people have been murdered in the district, including 11-yeaold rron brown. saturday police charged 29-year-old tony mcclam with killing the young boy. the mcclam told police he was trying to settle a dispute between neighborhood kids 'sncluding his girlfriend children and the victim and that hehad had the gun because his brother had recently been murdered. chief peter newsham says he

thursday, friday, yesterday, today, we understand. >> last week it was all about the heat and humidity and now it's about the storms, but the storms are bring an end to the heat and humidity. >> a huge relief coming and starting tomorrow afternoon but really into the weekd or the rest of the week. you guys will love this forecast, but tonight we still have to watch for the strong and severe storms and potential for we'low you what we're l ooding. dealing with. current radar. this is over the last couple of hours, and you notice a strong stogh that came through rit here, just north of leesburg and frederick and now moving up in towards the philadelphia region but it produced a lot of damage a little bit earlier. right now not much. this was the line that came through. the one storm, at this, the incredible amount of damage. there's so many trees down in and around this area. s wrted back aroundchester and made its way through northern loudoun county and a lot of trees down there. a lot of treesnd down arou damascus and mt. airy and urbana with a 58-mile-an-hour wind gust

and off towards the east as well. this storm did really mean -- did produce a lot of damage, but now nothing around our rion. i think we're dry in most areas. wehad a couple of showers but dry in most areas. i'm tracking though a system to the west here. can you see some strong storms th the south. e are actually come up close to fredericksburg andnothe rthern neck and southern maryland over the next couple of hours. look at this swin right here. uw it might produce more severe weather. a little farther to the west and that tells me we won't see theb chance for severe weather in our area tonight with the exception of our southern zones but we are going to see the chance for someery heavy rainfall overnight tonight and into early tomorrow and that's why the flash flood watch and flash flood threat still continues into early morning tomorrow. watch outtonight r the morning commute. could be a big problem. amelia, with a little bit more on what to expect. first round is out of here, but more to go. >> for severe wet we are meaning

gusting, damaging winds and frequent lightning is diminished for a lot of us. rofnd one is out here, as you saw a lot of damage reports north of washington, similar locations that saw a lot of damage yesterday from thunderstorms. more rain out there tonight though and even through the overnight hours. it could wake you up with heavy down lurs and rain isoking likely for that morning commute so keep that in ming steppint the door tomorrow morning. make sure you have thembrella handy. moderate and heavy rain during the early morning hours and scattered showers as the rain wears on. 7:00 a.m., rain is looking likely. 70 degrees. we could see that flash flood watch extended maybe until 7:00, 8:00 a.m. so something to keep in mind. by lunchtime, still some scattered showers out there. otherwise cudy, so if you're running an errand on your lunch break have the umbrella handy.

on a video surveillance system in a nearby alley. a few seconds later two people are seen running through the inley. that sho happened sunday night in front of the brentwood recreation center. the reck center has cameras mounted all around, electronic eyes everywhere, but the building with its own security system inside and out did not deter the violence. >> we have four young people shot at, and they are in my view in danger of being shot at again or doing some shooting, okay? and so we have asked for them to beargetedor intensive serviced. reporter: that's the challenge for city officials as theyd aess this spate of violence in the district. >> and if they are willing, we think that we can get them out of the cycle of violence that they are involved in. >> reporter: the violence shattered families. a father and son were found dead in a residence on qens street northeast. while police are still

investigating, they say this isn't a domestic crime. meanwhile, city officials want to offer help to he victims of the reck center shooting. all four people affected are expected to survive. again, there is a fe that this could lead to retaliation and some back and forth and that's indeed the problem that some investigators are dealing weh to a larg extend when things like this happen and they hope that they can get out in front of this because we don't want to see another weekend like the one we've just had. outside police headquarters. derrick ward, news 4. >> a stafford woman who is already facing criminal charges for posing as a psychologist is now getting hit with a multi-million dollar law suflt nvestigators say sharnda avery say she doesn't even have a degree. the new lawsuit is revealing how much more abo how she has age to works a medical professional for so many years. >> reporter: this was the promotional page when she worked as pediatric partners being referred to as dr. avery.

here's what avery told some ts patien >> she had a doctorate in a psychiatrynd a degree in psychology, that she possessed two masters degrees. >> reporter: jack white is representing one of those former patients in the just filed civil lawsuit. his client vernon green is well known around stafford for his non-profit g3 community services which does mentoring work in the schools. a military veteran, he turned to avery for treatment of ptsd. eventually green even hired avery to join his nonprofit, but as he developed marketing material on her the red flags began to appear. >> he met with friction in getting proof of her s certificationand education, and he thought that w odd. >> reporter: on top of that green learned money was missing. he went to the stafford sheriff's office. as they began to investigate, they learned avery was not a doctor at all, not a psychologist, didn't even have a college degree. she was indicted in may for

fraud. >> this is shocking. this is shocking. >> in addition to suing avery, green is naming the iurance company involved and the doctor who ran the medical practice that hired avery. jack white says his client was torn about coming forward and about revealing his treatment for ptsd but decided he had to expose what he learned. >> it's frightening, and sogh rinow mr. green is in the position to ensure orstat lea help ensure that this doesn'tha pen again. >> reporter: so they reported on the charges in may and since then 51 more families have come forward saying they may have been vic names. >> we contacted sharonda avery and the medical facility that

able to ride a train to dulles international airport and out to loudoun county. >> reporter: back up in chopper 4 to give you a loo at this momentous milestone, not really just for loipt, northern virginia but our entire region. take a look, this is the louun metro gateway station, phase two of the silver line to see what's hanging out there in the station. that's a metro train. as, loudoun county for the first time youually have a metro train in your property, and it is nfa from the crown jewel of phase two, dull esinternational airport, which is right over here. his is why this project really was envisioned all along to be able to bring metro service all the way out here to the airport d then intooudoun county, and with all the problems, the concrete issues, all the issu regarding the labor management, all of that, we are now starting to see some physical reality that this project is coming together. the latest timetable is that next summer you should be able
