>> really. >> it's election day and looks like we're going to start a little bit on the cloudy side but to the west of us we see breaks in the clouds and overall we're expecting clouds in the morning and then a little more sunshine as the day goes on. the winds have turned a little bit more out of the west, though, and that is going to help us out. i'll talk more about that in a moment. temperatures right now not as cool as they were this time yesterday. we're still hugging the low 50's in philadelphia and wilmington and trenton, even allentown 50 on the nose. some of these spots may dip into the 40's over the next couple hours but again, this is an improvement. 53 in sea isle city and along the boardwalk in ac. here are the those winds. not very strong this morning. calm in a lot of spots where you see those zeros and you can see how they have turned out of the west. eventually they'll start coming out of the southwest today and that is going to draw in milder air. as we step outside to catch that school bus over the next several hours, 49 degrees by 6:00, 50 degrees by 8 o'clock, mainly cloudy, cool but not all that windy and better than yesterday in terms of that temperature. and as we roll through the

day, 53 right now. down to about 50 by 8 o'clock and then by noon, up to 65. and 66 by 3 o'clock. i think our high today is going to be 67 at about 2 o'clock this afternoon and then by 6:00 we're back down into the upper 50's. i'll have your election day call hour by hour coming up, karen and then of course rain is a couple of days away. details coming up on that. >> all right. getting ready for that. for now we have a dry quiet commute at least at this early hour. this is king of prussia looking live from the ramp 202 westbound to 202 southbound. construction crews just left the scene but you've got to watch for the cones with construction in king of prussia. west chester area 202 northbound has reopened here at paoli pike. will it close again later tonight so this is for construction right now from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. what they're doing is removing the overhead bridge beam there. the detour will be paoli pike and boot read or stick to 352 with construction that will cause a issue on 202

northbound closing again a little bit later on. on the big picture here, blue route, schuylkill, i-95 all in good shape. we had an accident in marlboro township on gravel pike but matt and tam that one just cleared. >> thank you karen. a frantic search a under way to find a young woman, her violent abduction caught on tape. you can clearly see the victim as she's being dragged down the street by her captor. he forces her into a car in germantown. now there's a reward in this case. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at police headquarters. she's got the latest. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and the fbi has joined philadelphia police in this search and the mayor has now approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. this is the victim, 22-year-old carlesha freeland gaither. she was abduct fred a germantown street on sunday and police released surveillance video from sunday around 9:40 p.m. on the 100 block of west colder street. you can see the suspect drive down the block and park.

a man in a hooded sweatshirt walked over to the victim. she tried to run but the man grabbed her and forced her down the block. she was struggling and screaming for help but the man forced her into the car and she hasn't been seen since. the audio from the surveillance hasn't been released but police say it indicates she doesn't know her attacker. her father just wants her home. >> she's a smart young lady. like i said, never caused any problems, anything like that. like i said she was going to work and coming home and just being herself, so again, i don't see her getting into any trouble or anything like that so i don't understand why somebody would do this to her. >> police say she did manage to kick out the car's rear windows on the driver's side and police say the suspect was driving a 2000 to 2004 dark gray metallic ford taurus. it has an unknown pennsylvania tag and missing inspection stickers. if you have any idea of her whereabouts you are urged to call northwest detectives. we're live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news".

>> let's hope they find her. thank you katherine. a gunman is on the loose this morning after opening fire on a delaware state university. student and in an off campus residence hall. the gunfire erupted just after 5:00 p.m. yesterday at the living and learning commons on route 13 in dover. the area was quickly locked down. the restrictions were lived at 8:00 p.m. the unidentified student was taken to kent general hospital to be treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. dell state is closed today but it's because of election day. the chester county district attorney says a domestic dispute was at the root of last night's murder-suicide outside the brandywine ymca. authorities say the gunman shot his former girlfriend several times in the y parking lot of the coatesville location at 6:00 p.m. and then waited until police arrived before shooting himself. the victim had worked at the ymca. we spoke to former colleague. >> above the sweetest and most caring people you will ever

meet in your whole life. >> the man and woman's names have not yet been released. the y was placed on lockdown for two hours so that police could determine there was no further day. er. >> a bucks county polling place will open as scheduled today despite a nasty accident last night. chopper 6 hd was over the springfield township police station just after a car slammed into the building around 6 o'clock last night. and the driver was cut out of the wreckage and driven to the hospital. but again, the polling place inside the station will be opened today. >> the first polls will open in less than two hours for election day voting. the race that is bringing the most attention is the battle to win the governorship of pennsylvania. will it make history whichever way it ends up. there are also u.s. senate races in new jersey and delaware. general, treasurer and auditor. now, yesterday the candidates across the country were knocking on doors handing out pamphlets and trying to energize their campaigns by holding rallies in states in which the election outcomes will have major national implication. all 435 house seats, 36 governor's races including in pennsylvania and the biggest prize, control of the u.s. senate. although anything can happen on election day polls indicate at this time republicans are up for good night if the gop holds on to kentucky georgia and kansas and wins six of the 13 democratic held seats, it will recapture the senate. >> look at the maps. they simply have multiple paths to getting to their goal of 51 senators and take, back control of the senate. >> louisiana and georgia are senate race that is may create the possibility for a runoff contest. in both states there are three or more candidates and neither state, n-neither state is any candidate getting more than

this morning and as we take a look outside, you're not going to see the cameras bouncing quieter as much as we did the last couple of days. there's airport on sky 6. the winds are light and temperatures are a little cool this morning but better than they were the last couple mornings. couple of highlights to your forecast. we have two mild days on today. election day is just the first of two but then on thursday, we are looking at a lot of rain building in as we go in through the later morning and afternoon hours in particular. 53 degrees right now in philadelphia, though. we were in the 30's a couple of days ago and the 40's yesterday so this is an improvement. still cool. winds out of the south southwest at 7 miles per hour and satellite showing you how there has been some cloud cover that's developed across the region this morning. we have a little more out to the west but there will be breaks in the clouds and we expect the morning to be mainly cloudy with some sunny breaks and then maybe a little bit more sun as the day goes on. winds are going to be light. high temperatures today are in the mid to upper 60's from north to south across the region, 67's down by the shore and about 66 or so up around

the lehigh valley and reading. if you are headed out to the polls today here's what to expect. by 7 o'clock we may dip to about 49 but by noon up to 65 degrees. 66 by 3 o'clock. your high of 67 today will probably be at about 2 o'clock. and then by 6 o'clock, down to 59. and 57 degrees by 8 o'clock when the polls close in pennsylvania. these are pretty nice numbers and when you look at the facts that there isn't going to be a whole lot of real strong wind it does look like a pretty nice one to head on down to the voter booth. partly sunny then tomorrow, but we will be watching a frontal boundary that comes in ahead of it will be mild again, pretty nice day on tap but as the front gets closer on thursday we'll be looking for rain arriving probably at some point in the morning and getting steady at times through the day. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, clouds in the morning, giving way to a little bit more sun as the day goes on. 67 degrees is your forecast high for election day. and then tomorrow still nice, a high getting up to about 68 with partly sunny skies. perhaps a few more clouds later in the day. and then thursday we're look tag cloudy rainy day.

rain will arrive at some point during the morning maybe even before the end of the morning commute, and as it guess through the day and into the afternoon and evening, it will build in intensity and with all those leaves that just got blown off the trees over the weekend i could see a lot of leaves in storm drains and ma ebb street flooding thursday. 64 is the high. on friday a leftover shower in the morning, then some clearing in the afternoon. a cooler high behind the front. 55 degrees. and for the weekend just 52 for a high on saturday, partly sunny and cool and more clouds around on sunday with another high in the low to mid-50's and it looks like there could be a sunday morning shower, the afternoon probably dry the way things are timing now. >> good. thank you, david. well, new here on "action news," social media came alive with comments about al bright light in the sky over part of the country yesterday evening. this cell phone footage shows the fire ball meteor over chicago. there were multiple mentions of a bright light streaking across the sky over the windy city. this is video of a fire ball that also surfaced in west virginia although it was not clear if they were of the same

object. and also new here on "action news," a social worker in upstate new york who is accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her son-in-law is out of jail this morning. police arrested melissa rayshaun field friday morning after she met with an undercover sheriff's detective posing as a hit man. police say she agreed to pay $11,000 to murder her son-in-law in florida and then wandered his body thrown to the alligators. good morning america will have a lot more on this story. >> let's check out your first look at business here at the big board. federal regulators say honda may have failed to report deaths and injuries that occurred in its vehicles and the incidents may be connected to those exploding takata air bags as well as other defective parts. honda has recalled more than 5 million vehicles to fix several problems. a federal judge cleared the way for new jersey based honey well incorporated to begin fining workers who refuse to take medical or bio metric tests.

>> excited about something. let's head outside to delaware county. perhaps it's the light volume county. 95 northbound traffic headed towards the airport. all the overnight construction in the area is clear and you're really looking good to go with no problem. we have construction blocking not one but two. the left lane and the center lane out here. it's on the turnpike westbound as you head near willow grove. seeing speeds in the 60's. it's not really affecting traffic and it's going to be clear pretty soon. so if you have left just yet you're good. if you're watching you haven't left just yet. in beverly burlington county warren street between will mer ton street and jening street, things just cleared out. in trenton mercer county construction blocking two lanes until about 5 o'clock so not too much longer on 29 southbound near calhoun street and also on the right lane on 29 southbound approaching 129 so those construction crews are out there and they're hard at work early at this hour, matt. >> all right, thanks so much karen. police say someone tampered with trick-or-treat

candy in south jersey. the incidents happened in the areas of south spring road, lincoln avenue and pennsylvania avenue in vineland. in one case, a razor blade was found and side a tootsie roll. parents should check their children's candy from halloween. if you have information contact vineland police. there's the number (856)691-4111. a similar incident happened in that towamencin township. >> adrian peterson may enter a plea today in his child abuse case. espn reports the prosecutors in texas could mount a deal today. peterson has been charged with whipping his four-year-old son so badly that he left bruises and wounds on the child. also at issue today is the revoking of the bond that prosecutors wanted after peterson said that he smoked marijuana before his september court appearance. the nfl has not allowed peterson to play football since september. >> new on "action news," human remains found in the wreck of the costa concordia are
