nervous about the possibility. david henry is live now in old city where negotiations continue. >> reporter: we have word that talks have broken off and they were meeting here at the windham hotel on and off throughout the afternoon, we are told that the talks have ended and things still do not look good and they are still willing to groeshation anything and commuters are stuck in the middle. >> i won't be able to get to work. i need to get to work. every day, if they go on strike that will take my money. >> the transit workers are threatening to take the town to a stand still. willy brown, the head of the union says they have until tomorrow to come up with a fair contract. a strike is looking more and more likely, over 200 volunteers showed up at the union hall last

night to put together picket line signs that are being distributed around the city. they are on the job without a contract for the last seven months, but the union says they hit the end of the line, they are going backward instead of forward, septa says they have to hold the line on cost but everything is negotiable. they met at noon and exchanges proposals and went back to camp to discuss them and reconvened for face-to-face talks at 1:30, the union agreed to give the public 24 hours notice before striking. they say the union would be stupid to strike before the election next tuesday. the union is backing the union for governor. >> i work for a union, i understand we all understand,

but it's an inconvenience, you know. >> and inconvenience for a lot of people, the talks have broken off here for the day and both sides say they will be back at the bargaining table tomorrow morning and the union sending strong signals that it is indeed getting ready for a strike. david henry, channel 6 "action news". okay david thank you. we are following a developing story out of wichita canada at least four people are dead after a small plane crashed into a building, look at the video from earlier. king air crash nood a building shortly before noon today. the building is used by flight safety international to train pilots to fly cessna planes only the pilot was on board at the time of the crash and it's not clear how many people were inside of the building that is located at the wichita mid

continent airport. >> it was horrific, there was heavy smoke on the horizon as you approached the airport for miles, a challenging fire as you might imagine, it appears that the aircraft struck the top of the building and causes some fire to be inside of the building. >> officials have recovered the bodies of four people and we are told that four others are unaccounted for and a search and rescue operation was underway for much of the afternoon today and authorities had to temporarily halt the search when parts of the building collapsed. >> sharrie thank you. back here a local police department is taking steps to protect residents that use websites like craigslist to buy and sell online, nationwide and locally, there are crimes nationwide and some officers in our area have come up with a way

to prevent the crimes. sara bloomquist is live in conshohocken with the story. >> reporter: rick, this is the conshohocken police department, and now this parking lot and that lobby are considered a safe zone, a well lit monitored place to safely make transactions for items bought and sold online. craigslist for example is a popular internet site to buy and sell almost anything from furniture to cars, some are reluctant to give these online sales sites a try, afraid to meet up with a stranger to make a transaction that typically involves cash. >> now conshohocken police are offering their parking lot as a safe zone, a place to go for anyone from anywhere to meet up and make the final sale. >> i, myself have made a couple

of purchases, it's a concern when someone shows up at your home or work. come here to the pd to do it. >> in april in hunting park, two men responded to a craigslist add and shot and robbed the victim who was trying to sell his dirt bike and tyrell young of reading responded to a craigslist ad for a bmw and then killed the owner and stole the car, nothing so extreme in conshohocken and police want to keep it that way. their parking lot has 24 hour surveillance and the lobby is open from 8:00 until 4:00 each day. >> hopefully it catches on and people start to use it. >> i would. there is police there. and cameras up front. >> police here in conshohocken got the idea from elsewhere in the country. it's believed to be the first such safe zone here in our area.

bismark, north dakota, it's 37 degrees, that is the air mass moving in over the weekend, satellite 6 along with action radar showing clouds associated with that, what is going on is low pressure near chicago and a trailing cold front and this is what will be consolidating off the eastern seaboard over the weekend, not only will it bring us cold, windy weather, it brings us showers for the first half of your weekend, for the evening planner, no problem with showers, it's dry at 7:00, 55 and 9:0051 and by 10:00 down to 50 degrees. it will be seasonably cool tonight and if you need a jacket when you head out. it will be a cool alcohol halloween and a damp saturday and we replace the showers with high winds. we'll talk about that coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> thank you. stay on top of the changing

nurse tracy hickox is defying maine's quarantine for

people that treated ebola patients. she says it's a violation of her civil rights and maine officials plan to go to court to keep her confined to her home against her will. she recently returned home from sierra leone after treating patients. she was quarantined in new jersey toward three days. the controversy over the nurse and the fear over ebola in the u.s. continues to have an impact. lets get the latest from ali gorman at the big board. >> reporter: maine is just one of many states sparking controversy over quarantine rules. in louisiana they told doctors to stay away from a medical conference if they went to african country or treated ebola patients in the last three weeks. meanwhile, in switzerland the

largest ebola vaccine test is underway, people have volunteered, and the results should be available by december and in west africa, officials say that liberia is making process but the crisis in sierra leone seems to be getting worse. >> ebola must die. >> local volunteers in southwest philadelphia said a prayer as they loaded donated gloves and masks and other supplies on to a shipping container on their way to west africa, more is needed not just medical gear but basics like food, water and blankets. also today for parents, especially if you have kids in college, a new vaccine to protect against meningitis type b, the type that sparked an

wal-mart is considering expanding a program that would match prices with online competitors. they currently match prices from brick and mortar stores and are

considering expanding that to online stores like amazon.com. they want to determine how much money they could lose if the program goes nationwide. laundry workers in philadelphia say they are victims of workplace abuse and wage theft. the joint board for workers united. announced a class action lawsuit at city hall today it's against olymp olympic linen and laundry service at the hyatt hotel. they say they are getting less than minimum wage and not paid for overtime and they announced the clean philly campaign to end these types of problems in the business. we reached out to olympic for a comment but they did not return our call. now 11 homes in fairmount park, the homes are energy star
