saturday october 11. eva is off. i'm erin o'hearn. here's some of the stories we're following for you on "action news." firefighters battled plays in a north philadelphia hair salon police are looking for more suspects in a bizarre theft after a big drug store is set up in a philadelphia home. and gloomy start to the weekend you will need your umbrella if you head outside this morning. your whole weekend may not be a washout. meteorologist chris sowers joins us with a look at the accuweather forecast and sort of gloomy start. you're saying it may improve right? >> as you said the whole weekend doesn't look like a washout. clearing late let's go live on sky6 and show what you is going on. that's the view in atlantic city. the morning looks a lot more gloomy than the afternoon we'll see a lot of clouds throughout the day with gradual drying in the afternoon and maybe sliver of sunshine before the day is out. in the meantime that's what we're dealing with this morning

low level clouds. patchy fog. and periods of rain here's satellite 6 and action radar setting in motion we start around 6, 7:00 yesterday evening and thought loop takes us to now and you can see clouds quickly increased yesterdays with a cloudy day. we held most of that shower activity off until night and all this started over spreading the area southwest to northeast. we'll show the heaviest weather which is not too terribly heavy at all. they're catching a break. we'll zoo into this part of the viewing area first, lancaster, reading, to lehigh valley and poconos we're seeing light rains occasionally turning moderate time to time. this is not that big of a deal. we're not seeing flooding or weather issues out. there gray and gloomy. wakeer town chilly, tapersville 44 st. david's 50 chester 53 and gandy's beach 53 and cinnaminson 52. here's your day planner stuck in the 50s all day long.

the fire. also new this morning a firefighter was injured battling a house fire in clayton, new jersey, the action cam was at the scene 3 0 0 block of west high. flames broke out 12:45 this morning and took crews an hour to get the fire under control. the injured firefighter did cut his hand. he was treated at the hospital and released and investigators are looking for the cause of the plays. >> and in philadelphia, police are investigating a brazen and bizarre drug store theft. they say thieves literally opened up their own store in their home complete with surveillance video. stocked with 50,000 worth of stolen goods. "action news" reporter dann cuellar has all the details. >> this is 36-year-old juan the makeshift operator of the store. he and his cohort maintained for what all intents and purposes looks like a well stocked

convenience store in the basement of the home you could find anything you need from shampoos, hand lotions, razors, bade products. >> they were amazed by the sophistication. >> the big problem misdemeanor upwards of 50,000 was stolen from rite aid. police say it appears the men had a deal with miguel ortiz who drove trucks to and from the rite aid warehouse 1 jeffery road fairless hills. police say a loss prevention officer for the company investigating losses in inventory saw ortiz park his truck on darkened parking lot canal road and saw misdemeanor taken from rite aid truck and loaded into green dodge pickup police say was occupied by another man. >> they admitted they bought the misdemeanor from the truck driver of rite aid tractor-trailer. >> they paid ortiz $400 for $2 to 3,000 of misdemeanor they sold it cheaper than you find at a real store. he was so concerned about being robbed that he fortified front

of his home and put in elaborate surveillance system. >> he had better surveillance than rite aid probably has in their stores. >> among neighbors there was surprise. >> i'm shocked i live almost next door to him. i did not know this. nothing coming in or out. >> one resident said she could not possibly understand how shoppers at the makeshift store did not know the misdemeanor was toll stolen you. >> know when you're buying misdemeanor it would say rite aid labels i would think the labels are on the product. how could you not know you're purchasing illegal goods. >> whoever did buy stuff in the store it was captured on owner's surveillance system now in police custody. they'll look at the video to see who was in there and there could be more arrests coming. hunting park, i'm dann cuellar, "channel 6 action news." >> philadelphia police say they are now investigating the alleged sexual assault of 11-year-old girl by some of her schoolmates. it involved four students at

william teldin middle school elmwood the girl was forced to engage in sexual act with two 12-year-old boys after being blackmailed a third boy allegedly filmed encounter and post today on-line. the school's principal alerted authorities after he learned of the incident. no charges have been filed yet. from the dell dl newsroom state police arrested four people for organizing home invasion thursday at the house where one of the suspect's lived. investigators say heather holmes and richard lufatano had their two friends rob holm's roommates in daings burrow delaware they took cash and drugs from victims all four suspects are in custody. >> search for alleged cop-killer eric frein continues in pocono mountains and state police are confident they're searching in the right area. meanwhile the search is getting in the way of halloween

festivities for children. barrett township says it cancelled trick or treating and hunters have been banned from parts of the woods and they can enter some lands that are outside the search area. the federal government will begin scored fairy measures today to screen passenger for the ebola virus. jfk will be first to implement the enhanced screening of passengers from sierra leone and new guinea. passengers will be questioned and screened for symptoms such as fever. it seems from death of thomas dunkin who traveled to dallas texas from west africa. he went to texas hospital a few days after he arrived in the u.s. suffering from a very high fever and abdominal pain and was september home initially. he was admitted to the hospital and died from the virus. ebola virus claimed lives of more than 4,000 people in west

contracts. members of the philadelphia federation of teachers protested outside a school in germantown yesterday. teachers will now be forced to contribute to their healthcare costs. the district says it will save 54 million dollars in first year and the district has been dealing with drastic budget short fall. new jersey senate president says the state will not help a billionaire investor soft trump taj mahal from closure. senate president steve sweeny and other lawmakers stood on boards outside of the tropicana yesterday to deannounce carl icon's offer. he says he will give the casino $100 million dollars with union give backs and 25 million in tax breaks. officials say they won't support the plan that would force more than 2,000 workers to give up pensions and healthcare. >> if they gave him what he was asking for he's closing it anyway in a year. so what we can do is not help enhance somebody is that the

and rain falling and patchy fog out there slow it down this morning. make sure you keep beams on low don't put them on high it enhances the gloomyness and makes it more difficult to see. moderate rainfall north of the city and into the lehigh valley. heaviest by far is out of the viewing area pushing through north september ral portions of pennsylvania. zooming in from media to west chester and norristown and everybody picking up light to occasionally moderate rainfall this morning. here's satellite 6 and action radar small area of high pressure stalled out front here. smaller area of low pressure riding through the delaware valley in morning. there's the cloud line there across werp portions of pennsylvania and what happens as the low continues to push east it takes moisture and cloud cover with. it the only problem it takes all day for that to happen. damp and raw. temperatures in the 50s.

saturday morning, satellite 6 and action radar you can see a large slug of moisture across the ohio and tennessee valleys if you travel this morning there could be delays. weather setup we have two areas of high pressure one to the north. this is canadian high and one further south a ridge. it's over southern portions of florida and they're both kind of acting against each other in between the two we have stalled out frontal system and the front cannot go anywhere because each high is exerting squall amount of force on this front. areas of low pressure ride along the front and pull east, northeast over next several days. monday we probably see another one. tution we catch a break and hopefully wednesday would be the last of it and this whole thing fizzles out and we'll start to see milder temperatures that's
