>> good morning, it is 5:00 a.m. on this thursday, september 11. developing this morning. >> crews fight thick smoke and flames at a building in philadelphia. the fire sent one person to the hospital. >> a woman is in a wheelchair and assaulted and robbed on a philadelphia street. we're live as police search for the attacker. >> accuweather says we're returning to the muggies and strong storms later today. >> let's get a quick at that with david murphy and karen rogers has an on eye traffic. >> reporter: looks like we'll have breaks in the clouds during portions of the day. at the same time we're looking at a nice flow out of the southwest ahead of this approaching cold front. that will make it humid and eventually we'll see storms out to the west push to the east. temperatures, 69 degrees in philadelphia. up to 70 in wilmington. 68 in allentown, 69 in reading. not a lot of difference in the northern suburbs from the i-95

corridor. we're is in the low 70s down the shore. we roll out the door to get the car started. 67 by 6:00 a.m. muggy to mostly cloudy skies. as we get into the afternoon, 74 degrees by 9:00 a.m. up to 81 by noon, 87 by 3:00 p.m. our high today is 88 degrees, probably around 4:00 p.m. before we drop down to 83 by 6:00 p.m. later in the afternoon in the northern and western suburbs we'll be on the look out for spotty thunderstorms where they hit and drenchers down by the shore. karen, i'll have future tracker 6 plotting the storms and what's coming up. >> reporter: we're clear here, chester county, 202 at styles boulevard, the police on the scene or on the shoulder not causing a delay, but something to watch for in chester county, 202 northbound. overall looking at decent speeds on the blue route, schuylkill

expressway and i-95 but in west philadelphia, 52nd near arch street we have an apartment buildings fire, although it's under control, stick to 48th or 47th with the alternates to deal with that. let's look at i-95 near the airport we had problems this, all the overnight construction is clear on i-95 northbound it was late running causing problems, we're looking good with all lanes open, matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. developing this morning a fast-moving fire left one person hurt in west philadelphia. flames broke out at a store on a unit block of north 52nd street. one person living in the apartment above that suffered smoke. it took crews half an hour to get the fire under control. there's no word on a cause. new from overnight a homeowner in northeast philadelphia stopped a would-be burglar in his tracks. it happened shortly after

1:00 a.m. the homeowner fired a shot at the suspect and the suspect ran and turned around and went out the other direction. nothing was taken on nobody was hurt. vineland police is saying little about a crash that sent two pedestrians to the hospital. chopper 6 was over the 7600 block of west land disavenue at 8:30. the driver did stay at the scene. police are not releasing the victims' ages or conditions at this time. >> philadelphia police are trying to track down a person who attacked robbed and stabbed a 61-year-old woman while in her wheelchair. katherine scott is live outside southwest detectives with this exclusive story. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, matt, police believe the teenager who is believed to be 14 to 18 years old is behind two attacks in 3 days. his latest victim is in a wheelchair and spoke to "action

news." she suffered from multiple sclorosis for more than 30 years. 10:20 she was at the shop rite at island and lindbergh to play the lottery and on the way home when the teenager jumped off his dark-colored mountain bike when he ran toward her, she was struggling with the attacker, he pulled a knife and stabbed her in the right shoulder. >> all there was was $80, but i had my license and credit cards in there. >> for $80. >> for $80. it hurts, i'll tell you i'm going through pain right now. >> reporter: and police believe the same teenager is behind another attack early monday evening and that attack a 63-year-old man was stabbed and robbed. police are working on getting the surveillance video of the attacker, hoping to release the video or the i am annual of the teenager that someone will recognize him and turn him in, live at southwest detectives,

anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. a ceremony will be held in the garden of reflex in lower makefield to honor the 18 natives killed in new york city city. many were first responders. troop 22 from cheltenham planted flags between central road and efforts a life that perished on that day. >> jury deliberations begins in christina rugusters. tips and dna evidence on the victim's shirt points to the defendant as the only suspect. the young victim mailed a brief appearance in court. >> a florida real estate developer will have to wait 2

weeks to find out if his 90 billion-dollar bid will be accepted for the revel. he owns the palm beach polo and country club in south philadelphia. he dislikes the idea of atlantic city as a casino town. it is possible he could be out bid in the auction in two weeks. >> let's turn to david murphy now, a lot of people wandering what kind of storms we're getting tonight. >> reporter: looks like mainly drenchers. we'll show you them on future tracker 6. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you mainly dry conditions. as we look outside we have sky 6 this morning with a fair amount of clouds overhead. you can kind of see them reflected in the sky scraper lights in the shot of center city.

currently in philadelphia, we're looking at warm numbers, also muggier air than yesterday. 69 degrees in philadelphia. trenton, 66. wilmington, 70. 68 degrees in allentown. 69 in millville. 71 in sea isle city and off the coast in atlantic city. here come the storms. looks like we'll be fine through most of the day, in fact by 3:00 p.m. when your kids are coming home from school we don't expect any of these storms to be popping, you can forget the rain gear. it's warm and humid, though, so shorts and ts for the kids we'll be in the 80s. after 3:00 p.m., we'll start to see spotty scattered storms develop in the northern and western suburbs, and early evening they could be around philadelphia and delaware county and southern bucks and month -- he montco and chester county. the big issue appears to be drenching downpours along with lightning which you get with thunderstorms. later on over by the coast,

we'll see them drive off the coast an by 10:30 most areas will be drying out with the exception of areas farther to the south and southern delaware and cape may county. it's a warm and humid day with late thunderstorms possible, 81 degrees is the high there. at the shore, an okay beach day, because we don't have the rip currents as much of an issue today, in fact we're not seeing any rip current risks, it's going to be warm on the beach with a mixture of clouds and sun. the storms probably holding off until after dinner. 81 degrees by noon, 38 by 3:00 p.m. warm and humid today, high of 88 with the late storms possible winds out of the southwest 10 to 20. we'll be in the 70s during the morning and the 80s during the afternoon. and the heat index will make it feel like 90s. 79 degrees for the first pitch at the phillies tonight. there could, a thunderstorm that
