>> good morning, it is 6:00 a.m. on this saturday september 6. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." 6 people are homeless after a fire in their west philadelphia row home. police in bucks county look for surveillance video as they search for scam artists who scammed a man out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. meanwhile. we have tropical weather on the way. it feels like you're in the

tropics when you step out. >> reporter: good thing, relief is on the way, i've had enough. right when everybody is expecting fall, boom. let's get you outside, it's quiet across the delaware valley. we have cloud cover, but the biggest issue continues to be the humidity. dewpoints are easily in the 70s in most locations. it feels like orlando once again. you'll have to contend with that this afternoon. we'll have temperatures in the low 90s. the combination of the two will make it feel rough. relief is on the way, big changes for tomorrow, tomorrow will feel fantastic, just got to get through a couple of thunderstorms before we get into the change also. philadelphia, 76. poconos, 71, dover, 75. feels-like temperatures later this afternoon, there we go, air temperatures hovering around 90. but it will feel like 95 with

when firefighters arrived they found flames shooting out of the second floor window. five people had to be rescued. none suffered injuries, the red cross is providing temporary shelter. there's no word on the cause of the fire. police in bucks county are looking for a scam artist who conned a man out of thousands of dollars. police are taking a close look at surveillance video in hoping to identify the man. kenneth moten has the details. >> reporter: they say are the images of a scam artist who police say conned a man out of $16,000. >> the story was they felt it was unsafe to put their money into the u.s. banking system they wanted him to show him how easy it was. >> reporter: the victim's prize for help, $20,000.

he was to fork over 14,000 of his own cash. police say the victim a russian american actually drove the con artist in his car to withdraw money. first citizens bank on cottman and first niagara an bustleton avenue. but the theives wanted more where they drove to parx casino where the victim got a sizable advance on his credit card. >> my guess, it's not their first day at the rodeo. >> reporter: bensalem police believe the suspect's african accent fake, and the cane, the man was using, a prop. >> you have to respect older people, i think it's

dishonorable. >> they better go find somebody else, i'm not the one. >> reporter: bensalem police said they were able to get finger prints and dna from the victim's car so they were hoping to get a hit. if you recognize the men or the white van, investigators wants to hear from you. kenneth moten channel 6 "action news." >> a toddler is recovering in the hospital this morning after falling from a window last night. it happened on the 900 block of bridge street in lawncrest section. the 19-month-old girl was treated for a fractured skull and other injuries, she is in stable condition. police are investigating. two people were seriously hurt after a motorcycle i also slammed into a pick up -- motorcyclists slammed into a pick up truck. the truck driver pulled over to

help another who was disabled on the shoulder. the motorcycle crashed into the truck, a man and woman were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. the search continues for the small plane that crashed off florida. the plane was piloted by larry grazer. they were heading to naples florida when he radioed for permission to lower attitude. radio contact with the plane was lost a short time later. two u.s. fighters shadowed the plane, one of the pilots saw a man slumped over the controls and windows frosted indications there was a loss of oxygen. the plane continueded on its ghostly flight close to jamaica.

a u.s. coast guard cutter is heading to the area to help in the search. "good morning america" weekend will have the latest on the investigation into what happened to that plane. civilian are in the hospital after their vehicles slammed into each other. the action cam was on the scene of delaware avenue and cooper street in camden. the collision knocked down a traffic light. the civilian's car landed on a concrete divider. the officer was responding to an emergency call when the patrol car collided with the other car. the injuries are not considered life threatening. in pennsauken police were called to a home on 42nd street after an argument ended in a stabbing. it happened at 1:30 when one man pulled out a large steak knife and stabbed the other man in the shoulder. the victim was rushed to cooper hospital in serious condition. no word on what sparked the argument and no word on any arrests. there's more trouble for atlantic city casinos, a 4th is closing in the middle of the
