>> breaking news this morning a deadly apartment fire in cheltenham, montgomery county, this is a live look at john russell circle in lynnwood guardens apartment complex they battle icy conditions more than an hour and discover a body inside one of the condos. two of those apartments are damaged and several evacuated. so far we're told no word on the cause of the blaze. we're waiting on chief to bring us an update. that information as soon as we get it. tragically one person died in the apartment fire in cheltenham. >> one day after horrific day open the roads road crews were out in force overnight treating roadways with salt. this morning, we're still dealing with several reports of black ice. >> and a lot of that coming in this morning. very, very early. good morning everyone, king day january 19. >> i'm in for erika von tiehl. let get thing started for weather and traffic. katie and erika standing by good morning, ladies. >> good morning. >> i was saying all day i'm happy it is a holiday. they don't have to head out on roads. >> timing definitely was on our side to a degree at least here. thankfully we have retreat of storm system bringing in that rain and freezing variety today. when we take you first and for most to stromtracker 3 what's up with here. there's something showing up here. we talk about this all the time. looks good can be de receiving just because you see it in upper levels doesn't mean you're

okay northbound rapes towards -- no problems headed southbound. now out in cheltenham seeing john russells for the time being, fire police open the scene, take cheltenham to get on buy. we have another warrant buyer between cecil c. moore and montgomery you want to take 25 north or noise us. sicklerville until energy, hickstown road closed due to sicklerville road and you want to say garwood road. a car creeped off and hit a pole. there's a lot of activity. >> adds you heard from katie app chester icy conditions are possible against this morning 'early to aheadof morning commute. eyewitness news reporter natasha brown reports on deadly 60-car pileup and cleanup efforts that filed. >> as night fell and the temperatures dropped salt trucks began hitting highway throughout the region trying to get ahead of roads that may glaze over with ice overnight. a proactive attempt to try to prevent something like this from happening again there was a pileup on the schuylkill near the gulph mills exit mangled mess as far as the eye could see as car after car collided with each other along a ice covered roadway. >> i saw a lot of people not paying attention and then quick. >> ten minute later i had to use a back way. >> clearing the pack through the

wreckage was not too much of a task. we fawkd with jean gene blum about how long it took. >> we had 146 trucks assaulting throughout the region this morning and in to the early afternoon. >> by the time temperatures melted the ice hundreds of accidents were reported in montgomery delaware, and bucks county. driver happy to put it behind them welcoming the it of suit books past pearl ahead of them. >> refreezing is a concern. you want to watch for any bloling spots. penndot will be throughout the night and movie hours in saeption of the schuylkill. natasha brown on tw philly. >> oosy roads also us causes deadly accident in montgomery county marple road broomall. two cars driven by thomas brennan lansdale and jason and joan of dover. they closed the road hours leaving many stranded. >> it was pretty horrific. i caught a glams of it i saw coming around downhill cars kind of out of lanes to the side i started pump started pumping breaks and hoping i would stop. >> they closed the highway for five hours and ended up clearing the scene. >> this was a scene of 1 of hundreds reported in the state of energy nx. you can see dozens of cars after this crash. police say the slick conditions caused more than 400 accidents throughout the garden state. >> 7:07 vice-president joe bead

[ high-pitched ] nailed it! >> breaking news this morning one person is found dead after fire tears through an apartment complex in cheltenham township, montgomery county, this is live look at russell circle in the lynnwood guard eps apartment complex we're told the fire broke out 4:30 this morning and spread to at least two units. the victim was found inside one of those apartments. firefighters battled icy conditions for nearly an hour

before being able to get the blaze under control. no other injuries reported at this time. we're awaiting word on what may have caused the fire. let's start with traffic and weather. >> good morning ukee, thankfully we can report that a storm that plagued us all day yesterday with freezing rain and rain it was messy day. that in now gone. you can see activity over my shoulder here. take this full screen shall we? it's not -- it's generally overcast out there now. this is all wind driven upper level moisture not surviving as falls in surface. flurries here and there and don't expect more than that. what you need to worry about is the fact temperatures where covering be employee freezing and because we had so much rain yesterday if it hit the doorstop or garage way or actual car if it doesn't have benefit of garage it could have frozen park back over. you need time to get to your destination and let the car that you out. if it looks wet it's likely iced over. even though temperatures have since rebounded above freezing and the ground is nice and cold. you cannot go by air temperature this side. unfortunately we expect the low 40s to return and eventually what is somewhat of cloudy sky will break for more and more sun. along with the break for sun comes a blustery wind. that may hook us up to bring in mother nature's hair drier. hopefully not the same kind of worries for tomorrow. in the even time time slow it down. best advice is to build in extra time. >> you can see most of majors
