>> from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia, this is cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> the calm before the storm. it's a quiet but cold night on south street in philadelphia. but just a matter of hours a messy mix of wintry weather will be arriving in the area. you can see it on storm scan3 here the green and pink colors are rain, freezing rain and sleet and all of it is heading our way. a winter weather advisory has been issued just ahead of this storm. good evening everyone, i'm natasha brown. thanks for joining us. meteorologist justin drabick is tracking this mix for us and he says our morning commute could be a little tricky right justin? >> that's right, natasha. you may need the ice scraper not the snow shovel as it will bring warmer air in. we had a lot of arctic air stuck at the surface across the delaware valley. as this moisture moves in still some of that stubborn cold air is in place. the front end of the light precipitation moving into the region. some may not be reaching the ground yet. heavier moisture moving in from the west. things go downhill during the overnight hours temperatures hovering around freezing or slightly below. winter weather advisory goes in effect as 1:00 a.m. for locations in purple including philadelphia surrounding suburbs in jersey up through the poconos. it will end tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. for philadelphia, it will be extended a little longer up in the lehigh valley until 1 o'clock in the afternoon. here are current air temperatures 35, above freezing in philadelphia. no issues there. at freezing in wilmington,

30 degrees in reading. so again untreated surfaces will get slick over the next few hours as this rain moves in. 31 degrees in doylestown. here's the setup for monday. early morning freezing rain could get the changeover to plain rain by mid morning say 9 o'clock or so. still potential for a light ice accumulation. untreated surfaces will get slick and that rain comes to an end later tomorrow evening. coming up we'll talk about the morning commute temperatures not quite as cold in the seven day. details in a few minutes. track the wintry weather with the cbsphilly weather app. check live radar get weather alerts. down the app on itunes and google play. >> thank you just tinge we have a potentially icy commute tomorrow. penndot is pulling out all the stops to ensure safe travel. >> we will have 182 state trucks loaded with salt and trod go on the highway when the precipitation begins to fall. we'll also be bringing in some private contractors for additional support. so, at this time we will have over 200 trucks. >> in total penndot says there will be 321 trucks on the road and that drivers should take extreme caution tomorrow morning when you're around those trucks. now, "eyewitness news" this morning will start extra early tomorrow at 4:00 a.m. over on our sister station cbs3. we'll have the very latest on the storm including all the information that you will need as you get ready to head out for work and school. developing right now its search for a missing delaware mother she and her two children were reported missing from their smyrna, delaware, home yesterday. the kids were found with their father her husband in jasper, indiana. he's now behind bars.

"eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers tells us where this investigation stands right now. >> reporter: it started saturday afternoon with an amber alert. delaware state police put out word that four year old collette hamilton and her little brother cortez hamilton jr. were missing. their mom keisha was too. police said they might be with keisha's husband and the children's father. >> very peaceful since i been here. very very peaceful. i was shocked. >> reporter: the mother and her chin were last seen friday night at their home here on east cahill lane. neighbors on the quiet smyrna street were stunned at the news. but things changed just before 10:00 p.m. saturday when indiana state police spotted hamilton sr. inside this vehicle on i64 about two hours south of indianapolis. they pulled him over and found the children safe. their mother, keisha, though -- nowhere to be found. police say hamilton sr. will be charged with endangering the welfare of a child and assault and is awaiting extradition to delaware. police are questioning him about his wife's disappearance are not calling him a suspect at this time. >> i have little kids myself so i really -- my heart goes towards them i'm pray and i hope that she's found safe and al life. in delaware state police issued a formal gold alert for keisha hamilton. that means police believe she could be in imminent danger. she's described as about 5-foot 6-inches tall, 145 pounds. if you have any information about her whereabouts please call police. we're in smyrna delaware, matt rivers, "eyewitness news" on the yes. w philly. >> police are still vet gate

ago triple homicide in the holmesburg section of northeast philadelphia. at about 11:30 last night three hispanic males were discovered shot to death execution style inside a home on the 4600 block of vista street. a girlfriend of one of the victims discovered the bodies after she tried unsoukouses -- unsuccessfully to reach her boyfriend by home. >> i can't do this anymore. i'm a little disturbed at what's been going on. this is supposed to be one of the better neighborhoods and i don't know, it's escalating. >> police say they have no motive behind these shootings. now body of a worker when a bucks county silo collapsed has been found. anthony gabriel had worked for silvi for decades. the silo was filled with concrete powder. search teams have been working around the clock since early thursday. his wife and extended family remained on the site all throughout the search. now, nearly 4 million people marched with a message of unity to denounce a three day terror spree that killed 17 people and left three gunmen dead in france. cbs news correspondent brian webb tells us it's believed object largest demonstration in the country even bigger than the rally after the end of world war ii. >> reporter: demonstrators marched to renounce terrorist attacks that ripped their country apart. >> we have to be here in the memory of these people, innocent people with a smile that we're not afraid. >> to we're not afraid. >> reporter: france's president and at least 40 world leaders led the march. even israel's benjamin netanyahu and palestinian

leader mahmoud abbas walked together. thousands of police officers and soldiers protected the crowd. attorney general eric holder was in paris where he attended a meeting on fighting terrorism but did not attend the march. >> a pledge was made to do a better job of sharing information amongst the nations that were there and i think we will in fact do that. >> reporter: a video emerged of the gunman who killed four hostages at a kosher market before police gunned him down. in it amedy coulibaly pledged allegiance to the islamic state and detailed how the attacks would unfold. the violence started wednesday when brothers said and cherif kouachi killed a dozen people at the paris office of the satirical magazine charlie hebdo. the brothers died in a shootout with police after another siege at a printing plant friday. france remains on high alert for more possible attacks while investigators look deeper into the gunmen's backgrounds n new york, brian webb for "eyewitness news" on the cw philly. >> well, developing right now divers have retrieved one of the black boxes from airasia flight 8501 from the bottom of the java sea. the second black box remains unaccounted for right now. meantime the tail of the plane is back on dry land. the red metal chunk was brought to the surface from a depth of about 100 feet using inflatable balloons. parts of a wing and debris from the engine have also been located roughly 2 miles away from where the tail was found. a vigil was held tonight for a teacher and a married father of three who went missing just last week. morning near the off-ramp of 76 west towards city line avenue. the south philadelphia resident has been teaching at the middle bucks institute of technology since 2002. tullly's brother-in-law addressed him directly. >> if you hear this, chris just contact somebody and let them know that you're okay. again, the outpouring, chris i don't think you realize that how many people out here care and are concerned for your well being. >> tullly you suffers from by by -- bipolar disorder and doesn't have his medicine. cowboys love wasn't enough today. it appears in all the magic has run out of new jersey governor chris christie's lucky sweater. after all the controversy surroundy rounding christie's trip to dallas last week christie paid his own way to green bay today. he was in jerry jones' box watching as the cowboys lost this game to the packers 26 to 21. now the governor has made it very clear in recent weeks that he is a cowboys fan and he didn't want to miss a trip to green bay for a playoff matchup. he exchanged a hug and a handshake with cowboys owner jerry jones on the field during warmups and even wore a cowboys scarf as well. eagles fans are happy about the cowboys' loss. our lesley van arsdale will have highlights of the game coming up in sports in just a bit. justin. >> and we have sleet and freezing rain approaching the area right now. i'll let you know how it impacts the morning commute coming up. >> straight ahead, one in a million births or should i say one in 3 million. a couple welcomes identical triplets. meet this triple threat after the break. also a cup of coffee an cat. we'll take you to the cat cafe

people riding in their underwear. it was improve everywhere's 14th annual no pants subway ride and clothing drive. participants hopped on the train and traveled around the subway pantless. >> this is the 14th year. it started with improve everywhere in new york. they create add buzz and all the other major cities across the world and the globe are doing the same thing. >> the event was co-coordinated by a philadelphia based laundry company called got laundry. organizers collector clothing from there participants to give to homeless shelters and clothing drivers around the city. its hobbit's reign at the box officers it is over. >> back away now. >> i didn't do this. >> taken three takes the top spot. the action thriller stars liam neeson as a haven'tians seeking retired cia operative on the hunt for his ex-wife's murderers. taken three pulled in $40.4 million. selma was second with 11.2 million. into the woods was third after three weeks on top the hobbit did slip to fourth and unbroken came in fifth place. also big congratulations to gina rodriguez star of the cw comedy jane the virgin. gina won best actress in a comedy at tonight's golden blob awards. a montana couple looking to expand their family they get the shock of their lives. jodi gave birth to identical triplets. they were born last month. no fertility drugs were used. her husband was a twin so they thought that might happen but three. they're grateful their six-year-old son has agreed to help once the babies are finally allowed to go home.

>> okay, this is what three days worth of lake effect snow looks like. snow piles at least two stories high. watertown new york area was hammered by snow up to 4 feet in some spots. when it comes time to plow all this snow you get huge piles that dwarf everything else around them. pretty impressive stuff up there but that's the capital of lake effect snow in upstate new york. here we're talking about rain and potentially freezing rain. it will be all about temperatures over the next few hours as the rain moves in. we'll look at the suburbs from our weather watchers and already seeing some temperatures below freezing so these are going to be some problem spots as this moisture moves in over the next two three hours or so. doylestown already below freezing at 31 degrees. willow grove at freezing this hour. millersville pennsylvania, jon has 35 degrees. milton delaware another spot below freezing. glenmoore at 30 degrees. look at all these temperatures already below freezing. eagleville perkasie, vincentown new jersey. a lot of problems over the next few hours with light freezing rain moving in. check it out outside right now. not seeing anything yet here in center city. as we look at the ben franklin bridge, but the clouds are moving in, we have some moisture pushing in across the western suburbs. check it out on storm scan3. not the biggest storm but it has a decent amount of moisture with it. the real cold air is well to the north and west of us. that's where we see snow. northern ohio, northern pennsylvania. initial moisture is moving in right now. we zoom in closer into chester county parts of cecil county maryland northern new castle county you can see a little pink showing you indicating

sleet or freezing rain and mixed in with a little bit of rain at times depending where you are. it's all about location over the next few hours. one town may be right above freezing and the next town a little below. compared to this time yesterday we're a lot warmer anywhere from 17 to 23 degrees warmer but not enough to bring plane rain. let's look at these temperatures. through the overnight into 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning many locations from the city on northward will be below freezing so keep that in mind when traveling overnight and early tomorrow morning. by 9, 10 o'clock monday morning most spots will be above freezing. we'll see improving conditions for the second half of the morning commute and then through the rest of the afternoon temperatures will hover in the mid to upper 30's. who. here's were to expect. overnight into monday morning in the poconos brief period of snow changing over to rain eventually. it will take longer up there. from the city extreme suburbs here in new jersey right outside the city up northward into the lehigh valley we'll see mixture of ice changing over to rain during the early morning hours on monday and then south jersey delaware mainly just seeing rain from this event. so let's time it out for you. now through about 6:00 a.m. that moisture moves in from the west. again, areas of pink showing you indicating that freezing rain from the city on northward especially but then 8, 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock we'll see that change over to plain rain as temperatures rise above freezing and then we'll see periods of rain through much of the afternoon monday. finally by evening hours, 7, 8 o'clock most of this moisture moves off shore. we'll start to dry it out. we're back to sunshine on tuesday. not talking about much snow at all from this system. again, the exception will be the poconos maybe getting a

coating through the overnight hours. most of the snow stays well to our north andy into upstate new york but still ice could be a problem. not a lot but it doesn't take much to cause slick spots. so, anywhere from about a trace to maybe a few hundredth's of an inch possible especially from the city northward through the lehigh valley and poconos. overnight sleet freezing rain and rain develops. we drop to about 30 degrees for center city, little colder in the suburbs. early morning freezing rain monday. that will change over to rain by mid morning, 37 for the afternoon high temperature. and let's check out the seven-day forecast. nothing terribly cold. gets colder on tuesday with some sunshine, 32 for the high temperature. then each day a little bit warmer. a storm will pass by to our south and east wednesday and. that it will just bring clouds, temperatures in the mid to upper 30's. more sunshine by friday and look at the weekend guys, 40 saturday, 45 sunday. >> wow. that's balmy. >> how about that. it's actually above average. >> that's nice. >> we're excite bide 40. >> just the little things. >> exactly, get through it. >> thank you justin. would you like a little cuddle with that cup of coffee? not from me. this is the cat cafe in san diego. customers can sip coffee while they pet and play with cats. they order drinks and pastries on one side of the cafe and then they can walk over to another area filled with furry fee lines. all of the cats are available for adoption. that's a nice little touch. all right, lesley, lots going on in sports. >> yeah, controversial call that ended the cowboys season as you know. we'll show you the play and steve mason will be out of the lineup for awhile. we'll tell you when he may be

>> okay, the football final four is set and we will start with the cowboys taking on the packers. now remember last week when a controversial ruling in the fourth quarter helped dallas beat detroit? well, the refs made another crucial call late in the game. fourth quarter dallas, one point lead, aaron rogers finds richard rogers in the back of the end zone. right there green bay took the lead. now here's that play. cowboys go for it on fourth down, tony romo airs it out to dez bryant makes that great leaping catch at the 2-yard line. packers challenged that ruling that it was a catch. bryant makes the catch but the ball moves after he hits the ground so the refs overturn the call. green bay gets the ball back and ran out the clock so, y-the packers advance to the nfc championship against seattle next week with a 26-21 victory. >> did think it was a catch at the time. i did think it was a catch you know, after we saw the replay because we hear this language from the officials all the time, he obviously had 3 feet down and then the move common to the game, it seemed to me that was a move we've seen him make a number of advertisements unfortunately they didn't see it the same. >> second game peyton manning and the broncos taking on his former team the colts. third quarter colts with the ball and the lead. luck with the ball buying time in the pocket finds knicks in the end zone. independent dee takes a 21-10 lead. fourth quarter broncos with the ball down 11 points, peyton manning to anderson fighting his way to the first down marker. they would measure. denver comes up short. indianapolis will take on new england next sunday for the af

c championship. now to the flyers goalie steve mason will be out two weeks with a lower body injury rob zepp has been called up. looks like a possible knee injury here. steve missed this time earlier last season with bad back. ray emery is expected to get the start tomorrow when the flyers play tampa. how about those sixers. they've won two in a row three out of four after last night's victory over indiana. they no longer have the worst record in the league. they now have seven wins, two more than the knicks and timberwolves. not going to throw them a parade just yet but they have improved after losing their first 17 games of the season. >> connor williams for the lead yes. >> coming up tonight in there zone more on the nfl playoffs. we're also going to preview tomorrow's national championship game between oregon and ohio state. 94 wip's jodi mcdonald joins me after the late news over on our sister station cbs3. lots to talk about. >> i guess governor christie is very disappointed. >> lucky sweater not working tonight. >> doing gone it. we're back with in you jo! i can't believe i'm eating bacon and rich creamy cheese before my sister's wedding well it's only 100 calories, so you'll be ready for that dress uh-huh... you don't love the dress? i love my sister... 40 flavors. 100 calories or less. you say avocado old el paso says... zesty chicken and avocado tacos in our stand 'n stuff tortillas .
