>> musical notes. >> we begin at 10 o'clock tonight with breaking news. shots are fired outside of a chester county ymca and two people have died. this all unfolded following a fight between a couple. good evening, i'm chris may. >> i'm jessica dean. this happened just before 6 o'clock at the west brandywine ymca on the 200 block of hurley road. that's where todd quinones joins us with breaking developments. todd. >> reporter: jessica, i'm told the victim worked here at this y as a fitness instructor and she was the mother of two children. she was killed here tonight outside this ymca where she worked. as you can tell it's still very much an active crime scene. the shooting happened outside on the parking lot and there were about 40 kids and parents who were here at the time that were inside the ymca, many of them of course were told were terrified. the brandywine y was then placed on lockdown. investigators say a man who had a relationship with the mom shot and killed her here at around 6 o'clock this

evening. then when police arrived to the y off hurley road the man shot and killed himself. nervous parents waited for about an hour until the lockdown was lifted and the area declared safe. no one else was hurt. we talked to a coworker of the woman who was killed as well as the chester county district attorney about the details of the shooting. >> one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet in your life. she was very motherly to everybody. >> very clear that the individual who did this, the male, had planned what he was going to do. the exact details of what he did we are not releasing yet but this was not anything that this woman ever would have seen coming. >> the identities of the mom and the shooter have not been released yet but police describe this as a clear murder-suicide involving a domestic situation. that's t the story in west domestic situation. todd quinones for "eyewitness news" at 10:00 on the cw

philly. >> thank you todd. also breaking chopper three over the scene avenue shooting. a male student was shot at a off campus residence hall commons a half mile north of campus. the university went into lockdown shortly after the shooting around 4:00 p.m. that lockdown has since been lifted. the victim suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. >> developing news right now a-$10,000 reward is being offered in the abduction of a womb in germantown. this happened on west colder street. the suspect forced that woman into a car and the whole thing were was caught on surveillance video. diana rocco spoke with distraught members of this woman's familiar. >> reporter: car leash shah gaithers is a nurse. she just moved out on her own

about a month ago. with every passing hour it's becoming increasingly more difficult for her family who say they want her home no matter what it takes. >> let my daughter go. whatever it takes, i don't care, just let her go. >> and bring her back safely, that's all. we just want her to come back safe ill. a distraught family has no idea where 22 year old carlisha gaither is. >> why her. >> reporter: what's more concerning is surveillance video of her abduction sunday night. you see a man wrestling her to his car as she puts up a fight. struggling for nearly a block, she was walking home from a family party just before 10:00 when police say the man approached her. >> it was sickening. that's the only thing you can say. it looks like that he -- he knew she was coming around that corner because he parked his car, then went back for her. >> when he got in the back of the car you heard like a pat

pat, whatever it was it was like two of them and then the back window came out. >> reporter: the back passenger side window was smashed or kicked out and the car then drove off. an eyewitness who doesn't want to show his face called 911. he had been walking the opposite side of the street when he heard her scream. >> help me, help me and i turned around and i just started running up here. i called the cops as i'm like yo' screaming stop, stop, stop. he's dragging her to the car. >> reporter: he says her abductor had a large knife. it was left on the ground with her cell phone and glasses. >> we going to pray for her to get the will, the strength and the courage to fight her way out. >> reporter: and based on what you've seen in that video she certainly is a fighter. tonight police say the man described in this video as five-10, he's 25 to 30 years old and the car he was driving is a dark gray or metallic colored ford taurus, year 2000 to 2002 with pennsylvania plates and it would have both back seat windows smashed out.

anyone with information is asked to immediately contact police. we're live outside northwest detectives tonight. i'm diana rocco for "eyewitness news" on the cw philly diana thank you. tonight a 17 year old senior at radnor high school is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation after allegedly writing in her journal about killing classmates a teacher and even harming herself. that girl was fascinated by the columbine massacre and penned a letter to one shooter's parents. the police superintendent read passages that convinced officers she was serious. >> imagine the power of the bullets leaving the gun with a loud bang piercing kids around me, the way they collapse, their blood splattering the floor, the screams flood the halls with corpses and if you go down a little further you'll see another excerpt, i'm homicidal and i'm fine with that. >> investigators searched her home and locker but found no weapons. police say she'll ultimately

them to the hit and run driver who killed a driver near east lake road in pilesgrove township october 17. moments later a second vehicle hit chelsea burns. police interviewed that driver and no charges are pending now. investigators say it was the first impact that killed her. police want to '93 who spray painted graffiti on a metal i-beam from the world trade center donated by new york city for a 9/11 memorial. the vandals used red paint to deface the memorial. they wrote in script a-writing sim used in eastern europe and parts of asia. anyone with information is urged to call police. news comes on the same day the first tenants moved into one world trade center at 1776 feet it's the tallest building. it's large enough to accommodate three people at

it 70 degrees. still keeping it really pleasant for wednesday but a few more clouds move in with this cold front and then by thursday we see the rain. an area of low pressure rides along this frontal boundary, periods of rain, heavy at times and even some gusty winds with this hits flow. temperatures around 60 degrees thursday but cooler air comes in after that. take a look at future weather. this shows late wednesday night into thursday morning so thursday morning that rain moves in. by 7:00 a.m. still to the west, we see some rain move in during the day, heavy at times and look at the evening. these oranges and yellows indicate something heavy rain and then it slowly moves off toward the northeast. overnight pretty quiet, just partly cloudy. the night before election day. the low 45 degrees. as you get out the vote in the morning temperatures will be in the 40's but by the afternoon just a spectacular day with plenty of sunshine, the high 67. as you get out the vote at 8:00 a.m., plenty of sunshine, 48. 2:00 p.m., 64 and after the sun sets temperatures will fall quickly into the 50's.
