>> it is friday night and the big story on "action news" is breaking news in poconos right now there's reports of shots fired as authorities continue their manhunt for eric frein suspect linked to the ambush at pennsylvania state police barracks a week ago tonight. police asked residents of price and barrett townships in monroe county got to leave their houses tonight and asked media to move away from the area and non-residents to stay away. frein town home is in monroe

county. 200 officers have been serving for the 31-year-old suspect at any given time. again tonight they're concentrated in monroe kobilityy. frein is on the most wanted list for will killing one state trooper and injuring another. tonight's search is ongoing. we'll keep you updated as we learn more about this effort that seems to be intensifying as we speak. other news tonight nfl commissioner roth ed goodell has spoken out about the league domestic violence problem. >> dunkin' donuts he offered an apology. >> i got wrong on a number of levels from the process i led to the decision that i reached. but now i will get it right and do whatever is necessary to accomplish that. >> and just as goodell tries to do damage control another bomb shell revelation surfaces of the content of the violent ray rice video and who is suspected of

charleen. >> thank you sharee. the man who killed six grandchildren and mother killed before. don sxisht spent time for shooting his 18-year-old son. during a hunting trip he shot his daughter sarah spirit and children outside his home outside gainsville called 911 afterwards and killed himself before sheriff deputy arrived. he had a criminal record in can dem and atlantic county in new jersey as well dating back to 1987. >> postal workers expect to work in the snow and rain. but she should not have to worry about coming under fire. that's what happened today when a worker encountered a hail of bb shots. police say it's clear the postal worker was targeted when shot at least twice. there were other shots fired that missed her by someone with a bb gun. the 28-year-old postal worker let the hospital of the university of pennsylvania this evening of being treated he was limping a bit after shot in the knee and back by someone with a bb gun. >> she's got operation deep bruising to left knee. >> it was just before 3:00 this afternoon the postal worker was delivering mail in 6200 block of christian street. >> she is walking up towards the house towards the door when she feels a strike to her back and reactionary she turns quickly and that's when she feels the second one when she begins to panic, yell and scream. >> shot this her back shot the strap of the mail bag which prevented hitting her skin. police say no mail was taken and it's unknown why she was hot shot. >> we're going to knock on doors and see if there's been issues

with anybody. >> and this evening another postal worker delivered mail on the block under watchful eye of armed postal police officer. bb guns are a major attorney residents in south and southwest philadelphia particularly because they look like real weapons. a vocal advocate on the matter shows this incident shows the problem has no bordered. even more disturbing is that some merchants are xloyting neighborhoods by selling them to kids under the age of 18 illegal in the city. and they worry a kid may pull this on a cop or someone with a real gun and get shot. >> it also shows that separate from protecting the children it's protecting people. it has become a matter of public safety. >> now, last week, counsel ill man johnson introduced legislation calling for harsher opinionties for those stores caught selling bb guns for kids. he'll begin investigating stores in his council district doing

this. we're live at southwest detectives, dann cuellar, "action news" at 10 on phl17. >> dann, thank you, students at the university of delaware held a rally tonight to protest what they called the school's silence about sexual harassment. student anger stems from recent allegations by fellow student who accused professor of unwanted sexual advances the university dismissed the professor and kept is secret from her and the university committee. another professor showed her support for the student tonight and said university failed toll dot right thing. >> that's the key piece missing here is a statement we condemn sexual harassment and vie nrens all its forms and we're willing to listen to people and give them a voice when they come forward. >> the student at the center was in attendance tonight and asked to remain anonymous. the university cannot comment on this specific case. >> and to the accuweather forecast and you will wake up to a few clouds but it only gets

they're upset over staffing issues they say harm patient care and as well as pay cuts and pension funding. and hospital spokesperson says staffing levels rank above national arms and nurses are among the highest paid in the state. and crozer plans to replace the striking nurses with temporary nurses who require at least five days of work to two day strike would essentially stretch out to five. both sides say there has been little movement to get back to the bargaining table. >> a local eye care business released surveillance video of a pretty brazen theft in philadelphia's mayfair section the video shows a section swiping business's donation box and putting it into her bag while customers were standing a few feet away. a receptionist says the woman asked for the bathroom key and employees say she emptied the box and left it in the bathroom. no word on how much money was taken. >> and still ahead as the all-new hour long "action news"

at 4:00. 78 in philadelphia and atlantic city 72 and wilmington 72 degrees. and saturday, so we're looking at morning clouds, drizzle, little bit of fog with high of 79 degrees. so much warmer than today. and but the real warm-up comes on the very last day of summer. a couple things happened. first of all, low pressure that is sliding offshore will continue to push away from us. we'll not be getting moisture but the combination of this low pressure and another low across the great lakes means that we get the slice of nice where we have a desending air clearing things out so loads of sunshine and ahead of that cold front we get the winds out of the south. that pumps up very warm air. so the high on sunday 85 degrees. probably the last time this year we have temperatures in the mid 80s. so if you are heading to the eagles game at the linc, 1:00 take on redskins. short sleeves should be fine. kickoff temperature 81 by the
