now we're keeping a close eye on tropical storm ian. it's out over the open atlantic. winds are at 45-mile-an-hour gusting to 60-mile-an-hour. no threat to any land and quickly making its way out to sea. so definitely some good news for your forecast. no major issues in the tropics currently. as far as high temperatures go we're looking at a 88 in durham. 91 in fayetteville. mostly sunny skies. a dry day for us across the area. as we head into thursday, you'll notice the cooler changes a few showers possible thursday with a temperature around 85 degrees. behind that cold front friday we're looking at a few showers and storms but 80 the high. so a comfortable day on friday.

60s. 67 by 6 a.m., with a little bit of fog possible. now the big picture here showing our next cold front pushing through the area eventually but as we head into the area, we're still mostly sunny hot and dry with temperatures close to 90 degrees for tomorrow. then that cold front moves in and that will cool us off a bet for thursday but bring us a few showers and storms on in the mid-80s and the cold front bringing us wet weather. this mr. stall to our south on friday. that's a small storm chance. it will be battling with high pressure to the north. we can expect a few showers on friday as well. the best chance will be further south on friday afternoon.
