abc 2 news and joce sterman is live in rosedale. how is it going out there. >> you know rosy, right now we're experiencing a bit of a call. that was not the situation earlier today. we've got some ominous clouds over here heading over by 695. but this was a reel problem spot here on poe las key highway, they shut this section of the road down today for quite a stretch because of some serious flooding. now here is the reason why. obviously this is a downhill stretch. if you're coming up from the other side of route 40 the other side of baltimore that's a downhill stretch too. all the water as it rained really intensely sort of collected in that little valley there, there was at one point a section where some rescue workers had to come out. we want to show you some of the video we shot. there was a swift water rescue team that came out earlier today. they were called out, got the boat in the flood water, luckily though they didn't have to use it which was a good thing. that water was still a reel problem anded unfortunately that team wasn't able to help a

lot of the businesses along poe las key highway. they were flooded. some of the water is collecting there and rushing right through their doors. i talked to a guy from a tire business right in that valley i talked about, he said they had water all the way up to their cash register which was 4 to 5 feet off of the ground. so a pretty serious situation here. these people a lot of them, we have gone back out in the afternoon just to see how they were faring. one of the businesses was still closed, they had to find a company the come in and do the lean up for them because it was such a mess, the water was rushing through, eye ruined the trucks they use for the deliveries, a big mess. that tire company, i just asked them a couple minutes ago, they were trying to flush out some of the cars and their garage and they have a lot of clean up to do as we stand out here right now. the rain is picking up again. all i can say at this point is the people in this section of poe las key highway are hoping the rain does not intensify because they do not want to deal with that flooding again. it was a reel mess, they hope

not to see a replay of that. something they haven't seen in many many years. that's the situation here on poe las key, joce sterman, back to you rosy. >> jessie sterman reported from rosedale this afternoon. strong winds and hail are hitting the bay tonight. so far annapolis taken about 6" of rain. some areas are closed because of the flooding. city emergency management center has been fully activated and businesses are laying out sandbags. and in baltimore county flash flooding took its toll on businesses and areas. they filled the road at poe las key tire service. acura manufacturing also gladded destroying construction supplies and some of their vehicles. let's go over to parkville now. a girl went missing in a swollen creek. fire crews were called out just the creek just off of clear wood road. moments later police found the girl safe at a nearby home. she had fall then to the creek but was able to get out and was not hurt. town in the city parts of

mount washington are under water. the mayor was there earlier this afternoon to check out some of the damage. abc 2 news' christian schaefer continues our live team coverage, he is over at mount washington with more on how the city is trying to cope with all this mess. rosy. >> what you saw over there, parts of baltimore county, that's what the city was concerned about happening right here, they are concerned the water from the jones false is going to come up and inundate the businesses that make up what is known as the mount washington millionaire, a whole foods grocery store, a couple of boutiques, coffee shops, 9 businesses in all, they are all shut down this afternoon and evacuated, all the employees left the area earlier this afternoon, the rest of mount washington was not affected by all this and that was remaining open. the reason all this had to happen was the false kept coming up. it got to within a couple feet of the bridge. it's now receded quite a bit but now moving very quickly t jones false continuing down under 83 as the jones false

expressway and so it's moving pretty quickly but it is going down right now, we're just going to have to wait and see what happens with the second storm. the city is concerned enough about that second storm that they have opened up two parking garages down near fell's point, they are asking people to get their cars out of that area, because they are concerned that flooding might happen tonight. here is what mayor stephanie rolls blake had to say about the potential for flooding in fells point today. >> fells point questionnaire crew 6th area we're asking that they head home, we have identified two parking lots where you can use for free as long as you move your car before 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, we're asking that in you already have a car parked in the fells point area that you move to one of those locations. we anticipate having some flooding in that area and we want to make sure that the flooding we are dealing with, we can move these cars, that's all about it.

>> you heard the mayor, she said we anticipate flooding in that area. she is talking about fell's point. she is holding another briefing. we are expecting more information. it is all going to depend on what comes from this second storm, the topical storm moving up this way. we have been feeling some stronger wind gusts recently but pretty balmy out here right now, not too bad. a couple drizzle and sprinkles, we'll see what happens here in the next couple of hours have. the city is turning up, garages open, they want people to move their cars out of the fell's point area in case the water comes up as it has been known to do in the past. live in mount washington, christian schaefer, abc 2 news. >> now since the start of this storm nearly 30,000 customers have lost power. they expect plenty more outages because winds could knock down limbs and trees. it could flood gas and

in tonight's consumer alert, a massive recall involves over 10 million baby products made by fisher price. lisa stark has the latest. >> it's a major recall involving four different fisher price products. first nearly 1 million high chairs sold under the names healthy care, easy clean, and close to me. the danger is a bolt on the back legs for storing the chair's tray. >> the problem with the high chair is these pegs. what's the problem there? >> these pegs stick out and children have fallen on them, several have been injuries and seven required stages. >> reporter: also a danger, some 7 million try cycles, hot

wheels, barbie free spirit, boy's tough trying to name a few. the hazard is a fake key that protrudes from the bike frame. >> they have this try cycles and little girls have jumped on this key and had serious cuts. >> the fix a new key that lays flat. nearly 3 million inflatable balls are also recalled. there have been 14 incidents of children putting them in their mouths will at least three choke choked on them. and finally the wheels on the purple and green little people cars can detach too. another choking hazard. there is a message in this for all manufacturers. >> manufacturers need to build safety into the product from the very beginning so we don't have to recall in the back end. >> in a statement this morning fisher price said it wanted to reassure parents its products are overwhelmingly safe. still the if you have one of

well some of the highest rain totals came in anne arundel county, that led to a lot of damage and flooded yards and basements, lamont williams was in pass a taken a and talked with folks down there. >> anne arundel county is a county with a lot of rivers lakes and streams.

so if you live near the water you know that the combination of rising tides and several days of heavy rain can be dangerous. anne arundel county fire was over run with calls from homeowners with flooded basements from one end of the county to the other end. the calls were the same. >> the water in his basement was probably at least 2 1/2 feet. it took the fire department about two hours, or about 45 minutes to an hour to just suck the water out. >> i came down to this end of the creek in 403, i have been here on a permanent basis for almost 50 years now, and all the hurricanes have never flooded us. >> captain james ross particular has a list of dos and don'ts if you find flieding in your basement. >> the first thing they can do is take a preventative approach and that is to make sure some

pups are functional, any storm drains outside of the house are not clogged as well as the roof gut erring system is clear so the water can flow away from the house. cardinal rule, if the water is approaching the level of where the electrical system is, outlets or plugged into electrical appliances, you cannot or should not enter the space t water may have become energized. if the water approaches the level of some gas appliances that would have pilot lights and those were to be extinguished you now have the problem of a potential gas leak. if you feel it is unsafe call 911 immediately and let us determine the risk factor there. >> reporter: captain ross particular also tells me after several days of heavy rain the soil becomes saturated, and any kind of strong wind could bring down a tree a lot of times on a power line. so we may be experiencing a lot of power outages in the area as

well. in anne arundel county i'm lamont williams, abc 2 news. now, the forecast certified most accurate by weather rate and maryland's most powerful doppler radar. >> all right. we definitely gt some severe weather across the area earlier this morning. not ruling it out as we go into the evening as well. but for right now that temperature coming in at 77 degrees, the humidity very humid out there, will 5%, the winds southeast at about 10 miles per hour. the sustained winds right now that barometer is at 29.56. as we check out some of the rainfall, yes, this is basically been what it is today. the winds in this, oh boy, 7.72 into edge mere and they just keep going up. the last time i showed you this, this was not the total, it wags lower that in. in annapolis we finally busted 7" so we're at 7.02 and in ga win okay. 2.75 into jessop. these totals pretty much have

been holding steady. mount eerie, 7.36, you're more on the inside and as you look toward the coast here, the bay rather, that's when you're looking at though totals to really get up. so i'm thinking that maybe close to the bay we definitely could be seeing maybe about 10" when this is all said and donned. we'll definitely take a locate at that. remember i said the flooding, the winds, the big story with this system. 34 miles per hour wind gusts into perry hall and ga win okay. 43 miles per hour wind gusts, jessop 31, annapolis 34, and again, all thee winds coming up from the south, so that's just going to give that big push as we go into the evening once we get that high tide. so we're looking at maryland's most powerful radar as of now. check in out. we're definitely looking at some stuff here, we have it coming back in, that heavier rain into the area, as we try to see what happens, if we could zoom in on some of the heavier stuff. we could see some of the lighter rain, it gets moderate

as we look towards the west, bel air you're starting to get some heavier rain, all this is going to start to scoot in here as we go into time. werner park, annapolis once again you're definitely getting into what we're seeing. so as we go into the next several hours the flood warnings are still going to continue and that's basically for everyone as of now. we're checking out the high tide. the high tide for fell's point comes in at 12:5:03 a.m. and annapolis 11:14 a.m. we're going to be getting some more flooding and rain coming in as we go through the overnight hours. i'm showing you the wider view, we do get a little bit of a break. we're going to start to taper things off as we go through the morning hours. but in the meantime we're waiting for this to come through. yes the rainfall rates once again in those reds, we're looking at about 1 to 2 1/2" an hour, so yes, we're definitely going to be in it and i'm not gonna rule out maybe some more severe weather, maybe a severe thunderstorm coming in the area, maybe not ruling out a

tornado as well. as we check out what is getting on as we go into time, things start to go clear out as we work our way into the evening time frame, 56 degrees, more rain and flooding on the way. then by tomorrow rain in the morning, breezy, that temperature around 73 degrees. tomorrow night 51, mostly clear and cool, definitely looking forward to that. here is that seven-day forecast for you as we head into friday again. breezy, temperature 73, saturday looks good, plenty of sunshine, cooler, 68s, as we cool down, sunday, the race for the cure not looking too bad, nice' we go into wednesday and thursday. rosy. a very troubling story to tell you about now. tyler clemente killed himself after a sexual encounter he had was broadcast online by his rutges university roommate. he killed himself last week. now two students face invasion of privacy charges. here is lindsey davis. >> reporter: tyler clemente had been at rutges university for a month when the freshman's

roommate allegedly recorded him having a sexual encounter with another man in his dorm room. data room robbie and molly way are believing have believed to have watched online. they have been charged with secretly setting up a live stream and advertising it on a twitter count. roommate asked for the room until midnight. i turned on the web cam. i saw him making out with a dude. yay. prosecutors say two days later robbie wrote this message to 150 people following him on twitter. anyone with i chat, i dare you to video chat me between the hours of 9:30 and 12. yes, it's happening again. a day later clemente said his final good-bye on his facebook page by simply writing "jumping off the gw bridge. story." clemente did exactly that. his driver's license and rutges id was found on the bridge after two people saw someone jump. his death stirred a debate over privacy and the use of technology. >> in order to prevent it, there should be rules and
