>> the firefighters returned to the neighborhood to issue a warning to neighbors. >> we also have what sounds like an encouraging update. i spoke with some fire fighters. the want to give you a sense of how harrowing this was. he was trapped in this room smoke was filling the room. one of them pulled him out. it was in this heavily damaged home where a little boy came to -- almost lost his life in his bed. >> all i could see was smoke. >> fire erupted inside the home. the 10-year-old was home alone while his father was taking older children to school. the firefighter emerged from the burning building.

notice the date is going shorter? the first day of summer was 14 hour 54 minutes and wear down 12 hours. we have lost close to three hours. we will lose two more hours of daylight. temperatures start to settle down. the low to the mid-60's. the low 70's across the mid- atlantic. some of those are coming in tomorrow. an area of showers we saw has dissipated. high pressure is in control. no rain in the forecast. wednesday, we get a push from as high ahead of a cold front. it will be in the mid- to the upper 80's. on thursday, we will be in the upper 70's. a few more storms at thursday afternoon or evening.
