is heard. nat sot "that looks like a bad dude too. might be on something."crutcher' s sister, responding to that characterization of her brother. tiffany crutcher, terence's twin sister "that big, bad dude was my twin brother. that big, bad dude was a father."i'm reid binion reporting. in kenosha...the medical examiner's office has identified the body found in a burned truck. officials say the man is 64-year-old paul hoffman from burlington. parking lot of the best bargains store friday morning. they were told somebody was still inside the truck, which was engulfed in flames. authorities say hoffman was an employee at best bargains. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. milwaukee police are investigating a shooting on the city's north side. it happened about 2 this morning near 23rd and clark. police say a man was walking in the area just after two this morning -- when someone fired shots at him -- possibly from a passing car.

is expected to survive. so far - no suspects are in custody....and police continue to investigate. three people are arrested after a crash on milwaukee's north side. police say they received a complaint of people with guns near palmer and north, just after 10. when squads arrived...the suspects took off in a jeep. the car ended up rolling over near richards and meinecke. two people ran away, but were eventually caught...and taken to the hospital as a precaution. the driver injuries - and was also taken to the hospital. all three had guns on them. police continue to investigate. two women are fighting for their lives after getting hit by cars in two separate incidents yesterday. one was struck near 60th and holt -- while walking in the intersection. the woman suffered serious injuries. the driver did remain on scene after the crash. meanwhile, on the city's north side -- a van hit a woman near

getting hit again --- after falling in the opposite lane of traffic. both drivers remained at the scene. the woman is in critical condition at this time. concerns over what's happening at a wisconsin veterans home. federal regulators cited the "veterans home at king" after staff decided not to perform c-p-r on an elderly resident. but other allegations are surfacing. our julie collins has the latest. the conditions at the wisconsin veterans home at king all too well. the home will be the subject of a public hearing in madison today. king is located about two hours northwest of milwaukee-- in waupaca county. concerns started surfacing in 2005. lawmakers are about to audit the facility-- after claims of injuries, infections and tainted drinking water. the daughter of a former resident says her father was given medication he was allergic to... and had conditions that went untreated. walter sundling was a resident at king

passed in march of 2015. the family documented everything.... and says no one listened to their concerns about abuse... his family says officials at the wisconsin veterans home at king... ignored and overmedicated sundling after he suffered a leg wound for three months. the family wrote letters to king officials, legislators... and even sent complaints directly to governor walker. one of the legislative audit committee co-chairs says she expects members to approve the audit, which would likely start next week and be done next summer. democrats are asking why an audit wasn't done 11 months ago, when a democratic senator first requested one. one republican tells fox6 that the state auditor was booked at that time. mount pleasant police are investigating a cat- hoarding situation. 3 dead and 7 living cats were found inside a home off sheridan road. police were called to the home to check on an 85-year-old woman. that's when they say they discovered the animals. they say the home was covered in mold-- urine-- and feces. the health department did an air

un-inhabitable. its just not safe to live in at this point until things get cleaned up inside the house. police say the home had no working plumbing-- and electricity was only partially functioning. the elderly woman is okay-- and is staying with family. it's unclear whether charges will be filed. ...new details on the two dozen dogs seized from a home in racine. all but two of them will be returned to the rescue organizat mutts." the dogs were taken from a branch of the operation, after they were found in filthy conditions. the current head of "lucky mutts" has provided ownership documentation for most of them and wants them returned. the racine branch of "lucky mutts" was run by 33-year-old heather jensen. she and her boyfriend "terry bogard" are both charged with 26 counts of animal mistreatment in the case. ...the latest on the investigation into the man

federal prosecutors have now announced charges against the man suspected of planting bombs in new york and new jersey ahmad ra-hami now faces four federal charges -- including use of a weapon of mass destruction. federal prosecutors filed the charges in manhattan...where 29 people were injured when the new york bomb went off saturday night. according to the criminal complaint - rahami allegedly bought bomb learned that rahami had a notebook on him when he was apprehended -- with writings making references to terrorists -- including the 20-13 boston marathon bombers. investigators are still trying to determine a motive and whether or not he had any help. meanwhile, the two new jersey police officers wounded in a shootout with rahami have been released from the hospital. linden police say officer pete hammer went home yesterday.

administrative leave. authorities used tear gas to disperse protesters after they blocked interstate 85 and started a fire in the middle of the highway. the violence was sparked following a deadly police shooting yesterday afternoon. officers say they were serving a warrant at an apartment complex... when they saw a man with a gun get out of his car. officer brentley vinson ... who is also black ... then shot and killed 43-year- old keith lamont scott. 0 putney says: "as they e gun that we found on the scene as well, make some imminent threat to them and because of that at least one of our officers fired..." the unrest in north carolina comes just days after an unarmed african american man was shot and killed last friday in tulsa, oklahoma. police video shows 40-year-old terence crutcher walking to his vehicle with his hands up when an officer opens fire. protesters there are calling for the arrest of officer betty shelby -- she's currently on paid

calling it a victory for a transgender teenager-- after a federal judge rules his school district must allow him to use the boy's bathroom. 16-year-old ash whitaker was born a female...but realized at a young age that he identified as a male. school administrators insisted that whitaker use the women's restrooms or private facilities, separate from the school's other students. the transgender law center filed yesterday, the judge granted a preliminary injunction-- allowing whitaker to use the boys' bathroom. now a developing story... milwaukee police are looking for three men wanted in an attempted murder over the weekend. fox6 has uncovered documents with new information in the case. our myra sanchick explains. windows are boarded up where neighbors say a man on fire jumped out, saturday evening. bullet holes show where they say gunfire followed him i got the clothes off of him because we

up and still was burning and he fell against me and we both fell down. mary kemnitz heard the screaming next door. she ran over to help her neighbor, patting the flames until he fell on top of her. i thought when he fell on me, oh no are we going to burn together. you can laugh now right at the time i thought it was scary. smothered by kamnitzs dress it was to me a miracle .i asked god for help . it wasnt extinguishing like i thought it should. she has burn marks on her leg, and her shoulder, a search warrant affidavit says the burn victim was with a woman near north 24th and fairmount earlier in the evening, when a man with an assault rifle forced the victim to drive back to his home near 53rd and clarke. the woman was forced to kneel in the house when she heard a voice saying get the gas. the next thing she saw was the victim on fire,
