look at the distance. see a little bit of fog in this view. well, it is much thicker north and west. coatsville quarter mile visibility and allentown is socked in with quarter mile visibility and zero for mt. pocono and lancaster. so, a foggy start and a big damp, too, in delaware. you see the last few showers are moving through new castle county and delaware and into south jersey. so, a foggy and misty start for some areas north and west with temperatures in the 50s at the bus stop this morning. otherwise clouds over center city and by 9:00, 66 degrees. we will see more sunshine at noontime. we'll go through it neighborhood by neighborhood. first, jillian mele is seeing the fog and the moisture on the cameras this morning. how are we doing out there, jillian? >> seeing that on some of our cameras, but certainly not here. live look at 95. following overnight construction that is lingering. 95 southbound just past the blue route. you see the lane restriction we have here doesn't look like much but this is what it's doing to

the commute right now. typically that overnight construction wraps around 5:00 a.m. and now 6:00 a.m. and that is still out there. we have a big backup here forming on 95 southbound right near the blue route. leave yourself extra time if your travels take you out in that direction. that's something i will continue to follow for you and i'll let you know once that breaks free. accident on the boulevard southbound past adams avenue. stick to the outer drive there. and then for drivers on the northeast extension, right as you approach the exit for la lansdale, it is blocking the right lane. whenever we have one lane blocked, that backup can quickly start out there. leave yourself extra time there, as well. tracy? 6:01 and 65 degrees right now. we continue to follow breaking news out of burlington county where an off-duty police officer was involved in a shooting. matt delucia was on first on the scene and what have you been able to find out? >> tracy, within the past 30 minutes, more investigators come out here to look at the evidence on the scene. i'm going to get out of the way

here. this is on stevenson avenue right here in edgewater park. you can see a large crime scene area right now with the tape set up here in this neighborhood and as you can tell, some of the neighbors, the residents who live on this street are trying to get out, they're waking up and going to work and coming outside to find all of this police activity right in front of their homes. but we see right there in the middle of the street, as we'll pan over, you can see that there are markers out there in the roadway indicating some of those shell casings. we've seen investigators and detectives going from one side of the street to the other. within the past couple of hours, they've been out here since around 4:00 this morning. we're still trying to gather more information as to the circumstances of this shooting. but, again, what we've been able to confirm right now is that it was an off-duty officer that was involved here. the person who was shot, multiple shots fired, we're told, the person who was shot was shot twice in the back, taken to cooper medical center and that man is in his 20s. as for the circumstances, again, we're still working to gather that information.

i've been making calls to the burlington county prosecutor's office. they have the crime scene unit out here right now. as soon as we get new information, we'll pass that along. and new from overnight, a man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in philadelphia. police found the victim hiding under a car in west oak lane. he was shot in both legs and his right arm. he was rushed to the hospital by police. also new from overnight, a philadelphia row home goes up in flames. but everyone was able to make it out safely. it started just after midnight on the second floor of the house on second and spencer streets in the aulmy neighborhood. investigators are now looking for the cause of that fire. awe have new information about the murder of a pregnant woman in philadelphia. police have named a person of interest in the case. katy zachary is live this morning with the new developments. hi, katy. >> markese martin who is a suspect in a popeye's shooting

may have been trying to shoot his accomplice and his accomplice was with his pregnant girlfriend at the time of the shooting. we have video of the shooting that happened last wednesday in philadelphia. kord rozier was shot several times while sitting in his car with his girlfriend, who was eight months pregnant. she and her unborn baby girl were killed. he has been shot but survived. he has been arrested for the murder outside a popeye's restaurant. they believe markese martin wanted to eliminate potential witnesses when rozier considered turning himself in for the murder. i have spoken to homicide detechives and they say markese martin is still out there and he is considered armed and dangerous. if you have that information, contact philadelphia police. reporting live outside police headquarters, katz zachary, nbc 10 news. autopsies are planned for today that should shed light on the deaths of cooper hospital ceo john sheridan and his wife,

joyce. the couple was found dead inside their bedroom after a fire in their home on sunday morning. john sheridan was a prominent figure in new jersey health care industry. the fire was contained to their bedroom. detectives in the somerset county prosecution office and arson task force are looking into the case. a man and woman who say robbed people at two different area gun ranges and shot one of their victims expected in court today. jeffrey chandler and samia puteet are having today. they accused of shooting and they stole a number of guns in both incidents. a philadelphia police officer is accused of attacking his partner and sources tell us the two were having an affair. it happened on friday not far from the 18th district headquarters in philly where both officers work. an argument between the officers turn under to a fight and the

officer had facial injuries including fractures and bruising. >> any time you have any situation like this is something very serious and the department looked at it in a very serious way. it's not going foto be somethin that was taken lightly. >> internal affairs is taken and the officer is on desk duty until the investigation is complete. at a new york city law firm. it started last week with a $90 million cash bid by florida developer glen straub. revel cost $2.4 billion to build and it went bankrupt and closed on september 2nd. there is a proposal on the table to save the trump taj mahal casino, but atlantic city mayor has already turned it down. carl icahn promised to spend to keep it open. he wanted steep tax breaks and $25 million from the state redevelopment agency. union workers would have to give

up pensions and health insurance. mayor don garden says the city's finances are too stressed to grant that request. of course, stay with nbc 10 and nbc10.com for the latest on atlantic city casino crisis. happening today, we'll find out which low-fare carrier will add daily flights. the airline will offer flights to seven u.s. cities, some beginning as early as december. an announcement, an official announcement is set for 8:00 this morning, but many online reports cite frontier airlines as the carrier. there will be another hearing today over plans to build a wawa in conshohocken. it will be built at 11th and fayette. it has been at the center of debate since the idea first came about in 2010. some are worried it will bring unwanted traffic to the area. its goal is to compliment the communities it serves. council members defeated the previous plans so wawa repackaged the proposal.

tracking some showers overnight and now we're dealing with the moisture left behind. a little bit of fog, you can see it in the distance. this is the view from center city. fog not everywhere. philadelphia international, clouds are overhead, the dense fog is north and west of the city. we're still tracking a few showers, but they're coming to an end this morning and it's actually going to turn out to be a pretty nice day with clouds decreasing and just a slight chance of a shower popping up in some areas in south jersey later on. but this morning, it's going to be slow going for hazelton. zero in mount pocono and quarter mile visibility right now and it's starting to thicken up a little bit in wilmington. four-mile visibility there while northeast philadelphia is at ten miles. it is pretty good for wildwood and atlantic city. especially after the showers have come to an end this morning. last few raindrops. new castle county in delaware and into salem county getting

few scattered showers. otherwise, it is pretty quiet on the radar screen. the shore showers have pushed off shore and that's where you'll see the heavier rainfall. future weather shows at noontime, nice breaks in the clouds. got nice sunshine and the humidity will be dropping. all the fog north and west will completely disappear. but during the afternoon hours, we could see some aspspotty lig showers, very little to them. to the west a line of showers during the evening hours. could be affecting for the lehigh valley during the late evening hours. so, clouds and sunshine to start with at 9:00. by lunchtime, 70 degrees with more sunshine and just an isolated shower at 4:00. i think most areas stay dry up to 76 degrees. seven-day forecast with a look at your weekend, when i come back. time for traffic. we have some problems out there and, osks, 6:00 hour brings with it its own troubles. >> jillion mealy is watching it all for you. >> this construction out there about an hour longer than it should have been.

95 southbound right near the blue route just cleared in the last two minutes and those delays also starting to clear out. that's good news. northeast extension northbound as you approach lansdale we had a vehicle blocking the right lane. heading to the boulevard southbound, just past adams avenue, we have an accident that's still in the outer drive, so, stick to the inner drive if you're making your way out in that direction. finally, for drivers in new jersey this morning, this is what the 42 freeway is looking like at creek road. that heavy volume starting to build out there on the northbound side. past creek road and 295 and head out to the bridges. so far no big delays and no accidents to report on any of the area bridges. keep in mind, we have that truck rehab project going on on the ben franklin bridge. the westbound side, the right lane blocked in that area. tracy? two disappearances may be linked. both women were walking alone on or near the university of virginia campus when they vanished. now police say the man in the middle of these photos may be to blame.

crosswalk when they were hit by a septa bus. he suffered cuts and bruises to his face and his mom died. the driver could not see the two in the crosswalk. >> these blind sides are what are killing these people. my sister and my nephew and the gentleman with her, they were in the crosswalk. you should have seen them. >> the bus is whipping around just to get on washington avenue just to get back on broad street. should be protest. we don't need a bus coming down 15th street. >> police have not charged the bus driver. we reached out to septa and they would only say, "since this incident is under investigation, it is not appropriate to respond at this time." members of an atlantic city synagogue are on edge as we head toward yom kippur. they saw some people earlier near the suv. the fire department is still in

the early stages of its investigation. police say they are not ruling out the possibility that this was a hate crime. >> given the fact that it happened on the synagogue property on the first night of the high holidays, there were neighbors who witnessed people hanging out in the area very shortly before it happened. it loaves a lot of room for suspicion. >> the synagogue is in the process of hiring its own security and atlantic city police say they have increased their patrols in the area. the search for a missing university of virginia student may have led to the break in another five years ago. virginia state police say that he has now been linked forensically to the murder of harrington. she disappeared after a rock concert in sharletsville back in 200 2009. her remains were found three months later on a nearby farm.

preliminary reports are going to come back today for a patient who has symptoms of the ebola virus. the patient's symptoms and recent travel indicate a case of ebola. the virus has killed more than 3,000 people so far across west africa. and the u.s. military plans to increase its presence in liberia where they're fighting to help prevent the ebola outbreak. train medics there and half will be based in liberia and the other half provide logistical support outside of the country. military officials insist liberian authorities will be leading the effort. it is 6:17. living through a recession may have some women putting off motherhood. researchers project that among women who were in their 20s in 2008, about 151,000 will not have any children, at least by the age of 40. the lingering impact of the recession could mean nearly half a million fewer children being born over the course of a couple decades.

boulevard southbound on the other drive and now following an accident out of south philadelphia. this is right at the intersection of broad and use caution at all of those locations this morning. this is 76 right near the conshohocken curve. eastbound side you can see drivers putting on their brake lights and see volumes on the majors. 95 southbound you can expect to be heavy from cottman down to girard and some construction out there on 95 southbound near the blue route. those delays are thinning out in that area. checking some of your drive times right now 76 westbound from the vine out to the blue route. that will take you about 15 minutes and 18 minutes on 95 southbound from woodhaven to the vine. northbound from 95 to 76, that will take you 18 minutes. look closely, you can see some of the fog north and west. a thin area is showing some signs of thickening in the last few minutes.

especially thick north and west. just cloudy in philadelphia, humidity is at 87% and 65 degrees right now. we're still tracking a few showers that are moving up the delaware, parts of delaware county getting some rain drops, but the steadiest rain is in new castle county. red line getting some light rainfall and some of the scattered showers in salem county, too. another round of showers pop up over delaware bay and move into cape may county. a few scattered showers this morning. but the clouds are already thinning north and west. we will see some sunshine. the future clouds showing clouds breaking as the morning goes on. by lunchtime, we'll see enough sunshine to have our temperatures in the 70s. a chance we'll see an isolated shower below inland late this afternoon and this evening showers moving in from the north and west. may reach the lehigh valley and we will get some nice sun and breaks during the day today. the temperatures will warm into the 70s this afternoon. not quite as warm tomorrow. still a chance we'll see some scattered showers for wednesday. wednesday afternoon 73 degrees

and at 6:24 this tuesday morning, you're taking a look at blue mountain as the sun comes up here in the next half hour, some clouds out there and some rain moving in and we'll get our first alert forecast. seven-day forecast coming up in just a moment. today voters in lakewood ocean county will be asked to approve a referendum to make improvements in six of the district's schools. according to a report on nj.com the school are in need of roof repairs and heating and air conditioning units. if voters approve the referendum, the lakewood school district will get $11 million in state aid to help with those repair projects. lights, camera, action. if you drive through abington township, you want to hear this. the warning period for red light camera violators ends at midnight tonight. that mean physical you run a d midnight now, you get a $100 fine in the mail. running at three of the most dangerous intersections.

>> seeing the fog get thicker. all that moisture left over as temperatures have cooled and produced some fog and you can see it in this view from the french manor. the fog is, indeed, getting thicker. especially for the pocono mountains, which is reporting zero visibility right now in mt. pocono, but it's not alone. quakertown, coatsville, lancaster also zero visibility at this hour. really not a problem in wilmington and has gone down a bit. the fog and moisture still in the shower area in newark is producing that lower visibility for wilmington. the scattered showers will come to an end and the temperatures that are in the 50s and 60s will start to climb. but it's dpoeg to be a foggy, misty start at the bus stop this morning. it's during the day today that we'll get some breaks of sunshine, especially around noontime at 70 degrees. jillian mele is watching things on the roadways this morning. how is it looking out there, jillian? >> a couple new accidents and we have an accident on the

boulevard southbound right near broad street. the left lane is blocked there and this is an accident that just happened a few minutes ago. 95 northbound right near the commodore barry bridge. much of the accident is on the shoulder, but it is partially blocking that far lane. so, all of these drivers that we see right here merging to the two far right lanes in that area. that is causing a slow down there. we also have an accident on the northeast extension southbound where it is you approach and a yellow light here and seeing a delay on the northeast extension southbound. make sure you leave yourself extra time there. this is also a new accident huntington valley and huntington pike and still following an accident on the boulevard southbound and that accident is still out there in the outer drive. vai? >> jillian, thank you. let's get an update on burlington county. right now police are searching for evidence involving an off-duty police officer. matt delucia was first on the scene and give us an daupdate o what is going on. >> investigators have been out

here trying to recover some of the shell casings. i'll get out of the way here in edgewater park. seen investigators going from both sides of the street out here. in fact, people are coming out of their homes just waking up and finding out what's going on. that off-duty officer shot one man twice in the back. that man is in cooper hospital right now. we're still waiting word on the circumstances of this shooting. as soon as we get new information, we'll pass that along. for now live in edgewater park, matt delucia. >> shoppers in our area are learning about another data breach. big names like target, home'>!q depot and u.p.s. have fallen victim to hackers and thieves may have gotten hands on debit and credit card information. jesse gary is live in the mayfair section of philadelphia with more on this. >> this acme store opened just a few moments ago and i talked to one customer who went in and asked him about concerns shopping at acme in light of the

disclosure of the two data breaches over the summer and he said to me, you know, it happens everywhere. it's part of life. let's look at our video. two separate incidents in june, july and all the way stretching until last week. at acme stores in the tri-state region and beyond. a type of spyware collected credit and debit card account numbers and the name of card holders in stores in more than a dozen states. in response to the breach, executives released the following statement. if you used your credit or debit card at an affected store between june 22nd and july 17th and/or august 27th and september 21st of this year, you should monitor your credit and debit card account and properly contact the bank that issued your payment card. if you see any suspicious activity. the company stresses they don't believe any personal information was taken, such as social security numbers, but they are offering to provide one year of

identity theft protection for anyone who has been negatively affected. we put the information for that up on our website. live in mayfair, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. former philadelphia sportscaster is waiting to be sentenced after he pleaded guilty in a charity scam. our camera caught him outside the courtroom in bucks county yesterday. prosecutors say he sold ticket packages for sporting events with the promise that the money would go to charity, but, instead, he pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars and the buyers never got their tickets. >> i wanted to thank all of you for respecting my family's privacy and as the healing process begins, i hope you'll continue to do so. it means an awful lot to me. >> toleson told a judge he was battling addiction for more than 40 years. sentencing is expected to start in two months and facing more than 30 years behind bars. 6:35. court hearing today for three people charged in connection with the beating of a gay couple in philadelphia. kevin harrigan, philip williams and catherine knot are charged

with assault for the attack in center city back on september 11th. they're accused of using gay slurs and punching the victims. the attack left one of the victims with his mouth wired shut. attorneys for the suspects say the fight was mutual and was not motivated by sexual orientation. but in response to that attack, a rally is sedcheduled for tomorrow in support of lgbt rights. the love over hate rally will happen at the county courthouse in doylestown tomorrow. we may get answers about recent security breaches that white house. a congressional hearing is taking place following new revelations about how far a fence jumper got inside 1600 pennsylvania avenue. the nbc news confirms omar gonzalez jumped the fence at the white house, ran across the north lawn and burst into an unlocked front door. he overpowered secret service officer and then ran into the east room before an agent tackled him there.

gonzalez not go further than through the front door. >> something needs to be done and something needs to be done drastically. it's also clear that they need to have a come to jesus moment. >> the director of the secret service, the director of the secret service, julia pierson is set to testify at a congressional hearing today on the white house security and secret service procedure. we have fog, we have showers but in center city, it is dry. you can see some clouds overhead. we're already starting to thin out. the fog north and west, that's where it's thickest this morning. dense fog. some areas zero visibility. the showers not much left to them. they're starting to come to an end. there is a chance of a shower later today, overall, we'll see improving conditions. decreasing clouds will give it some sunshine. look for blue mountain. this is the view at the foggy view this morning. and that's not the only spot either. and rain is falling and continues to fall just very light rain.

it's stalled right on top of new castle and salem counties in new jersey. otherwise, clouds at the shore, most of that rainfall is off shore. just a little bit of rain moving back in to cape may right now. showers won't be an issue for most of the day and the fog that is starting areas north and west in the really thick stuff is going to break. the clouds will break, as well. get some sunshine. 75 this afternoon for quakertown and allentown. 77 degrees and warm, too, in northeast philadelphia and trenton, too, as clouds break for some sunshine during the afternoon and you'll see some sunshine breaking through at the shore and there is a chance of a shower blowing onshore at some point during the afternoon hours and a slight chance of some of those making it to glasbor. look for temperatures to climb as the clouds thin out. brightsontion on the way and seven-day forecast and show you when to expect that, when i come back. 6:38 right now. there are a couple of issues to be mindful of as you're heading out the door.

>> jillian mele is here with all of that. jill? >> we have a number of problems out there. things all of a sudden got very busy. accident 94 northbound and you can see a two-vehicle accident right there one lane is blocked and check it out. this is what it is doing to that traffic on 95. 95 northbound right near high loo highland avenue all because of that two-vehicle accident. leave yourself extra time there. this is a live look at the boulevard. the southbound side right near broad street and you can see another two-vehicle accident blocking the far right lane in that area. two lanes of traffic are getting by there and also seeing heavy volume on that portion of the boulevard as drivers make their way to the accident scene. you can see a delay starting to form right now on the ben franklin bridge as drivers head into philadelphia. this is all because we still have that track rehab project going on. so on the westbound side, we do have some lane restrictions in that area. keep us in mind. it is starting to be a very busy morning commute today. as you approach mid-county toll

he was convicted in the murder of daniel faulkner. his original death sentence was communal to life in prison. his remarks were prerecorded and will be played to the students this sunday. they selected abu-jamal who graduated from goddard for their speaker. the search for eric frein is in its third week. they found a checkbook with his name on it and they found ammo that was used in the ambush attack. we have new information this morning about the accident involving actor and comedian tracy morgan. in a court filing yesterday, walmart said morgan is partially to blame for his injuries because he was not wearing his seatbelt. the injury killed morgan's friend. morgan is suing walmart, their truck that hit him for his injuries that left him in

critical condition. the trial of a man who murdered a student 32-year-old planned the murder six months in advance. he is accused of dismembering the body of 33-year-old june lin and mailing the body parts to canadian political parties and two elementary schools. he's pleaded not guilty, claiming he is not criminally responsible of a mental illness. and breaking news just in to nbc 10, the body of a missing arkansas real estate agent has been found. investigators confirm the body of 49-year-old barvely carter was discovered in the shallow grave. she went missing from a home she was showing near little rock on thursday. police arrested 33-year-old aaron lewis on a kidnapping charge yesterday. but lewis will be charged with capital murder. 6:46 right now. officials in minnesota are considering a change to the way it allows transgendered high school athletes to play sports. the proposed change would allow high school athletes who are transgender to play with

that's what they're seeing right along the delaware, this property is like a magnet for fog this time of year and it is thick this morning. especially thick, not just for allentown, but look at quakertown. zero visibility and they have been socked in at lancaster all morning long. the pocono mountains now reporting zero visibility in mount pocono and it has improved some in hazelton. no fog, no rain here, 65 degrees but the humidity is up at 90%. we still could see some areas see some thicker fog. cape may is starting to see the return of more showers. it got a break, but now it's light rain that has moved in. this particular batch of showers will keep on moving and move out. and this is, so far the last couple hours this light rainfall has been hugging i-95 in delaware and into south jersey. we're starting off with fog and some showers, but we'll wind up with breaks of sunshine as the day goes on. and just a minimal threat of a shower late this afternoon. so, improving conditions.

it will turn out to be pretty nice day overall. but showers could return overnight tonight. in fact, the lehigh valley may get them this evening and then tomorrow a chance of scattered showers with some breaks of sunshine. little bit cooler tomorrow. but the temperatures going up with bright, sunny skies for thursday. thursday looks like a beautiful, we'll get a really nice start on friday, too. it's friday, that's always good. late in the day we could see some showers friday and into early morning on saturday. then turning cooler as we dry out this weekend. saturday, 70. 67 degrees for the eagles game on sunday. hope those big players will be okay. >> yeah, bill is trying to do what jillian likes to do, just jump ahead right to friday. about an hour ago, lots of green lights. i have a feeling that's changed. >> what are you seeing now, jillian? >> a lot of red lights. that's what we're seeing this morning. a number of accidents out there. accident 95 northbound and crews are out there sweeping up some of that debris off the roadway. we have that one lane blocked

and, boy, this is causing really heavy volume on 95 northbound from the delaware state line to the blue route. that will take you 15 minutes and normally a seven to eight-minute trip. we are seeing heavy volume out there on the portion of 95. chester county, a little bit of fog and heavy volume on the route 30 bypass eastbound at route 322. tacony palmyra and traffic stopped for the next ten minutes or so just until the arms can close, again. and traffic can get moving. let's get you updated on the accident boulevard southbound just past broad street and taking out the left lane a few minutes ago, but just as i was coming on here i got word that accident cleared. that is good news, unfortunately, though, it is a really busy morning on the roads. i'm matt delucia live in edgewater where an off duty shot

markers out there in the middle of the road, police have been going through all the shell casings and several gunshots were fired and a police officer, an off-duty police officer we're told fired those shots. one man shot twice in the back and he is at cooper hospital right now and working to gather information on the circumstances of this shooting. for now live in edgewater park, matt delucia. four minutes before 7:00 and acme shoppers are watching their bank accounts a little closer this morning. a data breach that affected some stores in the delaware valley. jesse gary is live in the mayfair section of philadelphia with the details. what should people know, jesse? >> executives say they don't believe customers' personal information like social security numbers was taken. let's look at our video. actually two breaches during the summer months in june and july and then in august stretching into last week. acme stores around the tri-state region and beyond. a type of malware collected debit card and credit card

numbers and expiration dates and name of card holders. keep an eye on your account and also offering one year of identity theft protection for affected customers. customers i talked to this morning say this is just part of doing business in the 21st century. we're live in mayfair, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. good morning, at 6:57. 95 is a mess right now in multiple locations. this is the northbound side as you approach cottman avenue. just outside of this camera's view, in fact, way up here, an accident blocking the left lane. so, you can see your drive time is equal on 95 in both directions between wood haven and the vine. heavy volume there and heavy volume on 95 through delaware county, northbound side at highland avenue crawling along because of an accident still out there and in the process of being cleaned up. 95 northbound right near the commodore barry bridge. i mentioned that accident cleared off of the highway, the boulevard southbound out near broad street.

you notice it's over there on the shoulder right now. the accident itself is not blocking anything on the highway, but we do have a lot of congestion as drivers make their way on the boulevard southbound, especially as they make their way down to 76. tracking all sorts of stuff this morning. north and west, it is fog. and look at the thick fog in blue mountain and the pocono mountains. it has been getting thicker and many spots north and west are seeing zero visibility. meantime, it's cloudiness over philadelphia. the showers have taken a break. still a little bit misty in the philadelphia area and it's still a bit damp at the jersey shore. raindrops are falling, once again, in cape may. another round of very light showers moving through. you can see this on the radar screen. not much to them and heading off to the east. you can see some drawing this morning. it will take some time for the clouds to disappear. tracking light showers that continue to stream into delaware and south jersey, new castle county and into salem county.
