the new settlements will be added to a record number of over 18,500 homes already approved. the palestinian authority has condemned the plans. the international community considers the israeli settlements illegal under international law. some 700 thousand israelies live in around 160 settlements built in the occupied palestinian territories. "the lebanese resistance movement asbol says it is precisely targeted building and israeli settlement of avevim with appropriate weapons inflicting significant damage to it. earlier correspondents mariam salah in beirot gave us an update on hisbullah's retaliatory attacks. as well as also released some numbers actually, and we're talking about 150 days since the beginning of the war, they say there's at least 2,0 israeli soldiers either killed or wounded. as a result of the continuous operations by hazballah, there's also huge numbers of rockets that were fire,
8:42 pm
they talk about those numbers, we're talking about here at least five kilometers from the border in the galili that have been completely evacuated, you have also hisballah's rocket fire reaching more than 23 kilometers within those settlements and that area, you have 43 settlements that were evacuated and at least 23000 settlers of israelis have been evacuated and have been displaced from that area, since the beginning the confrontations, you have also hazbullah has mentioned that they have targeted and perhaps destroyed some 68 vehicles, 38 command centers and 283 fortifications and of course there in addition to the espionage devices that they have also destroyed the technology technological hardware for the israelis, we're talking about some 300 addition to 570 res residencets or
8:43 pm
settlements that are built in those settlements areas that were destroyed by hazballah so you have very significant numbers for that were issued by hazballah of course hazbil has said 200 israel soldiers been killed or wounded since they cannot really verify how many were killed but they have also said that any number that is given by the israeli um army is inaccurate and it is usually much more than what it is crisis devastating wars, terrorism, the israeli lobby, crackdown, diplomacy, children's hell on earth. welcome back to the news

8:45 pm
it's time now for the news review of this bulletin. the united states is where uh this particular piece of news review. is what we're focusing on, is where former president trump, has increased his lead further on super tuesday, this is the day when the outcome of the democratic and republican primaries in 15 states and one territory typically shapes the race for the white house. now trump addresses supporters in florida and he held his win as unprecedented. let's take a listen. thank you very much. they call it super tuesday for a reason. this is a big one. and they tell me the pundits
8:46 pm
and otherwise that there's never been one like this. there's never been anything so conclusive. this was an amazing an amazing night, an amazing day, it's been an incredible period of time in our country's history, it's been sad in so many ways, but i think it's going to be inspiring because we're going to do something that frankly nobody's been able to do for a long time. trump emerged as a clear winner after his only main opponent nikki haley officially ended her campaign. trump's long-shot challenge however declined to endorse the ex-president who swept 14 out of the 15 states. the former president has been impeached twice since his last term in office and is facing scores of felony charges and four trials. in the democratic camp incumbant president joe biden has cruised toward nomination as he swept in all 15 states on super tuesday. biden remains the front runner for democrats as he faces no real challenger within the party. he's giving up for a likely rematch with trump in november. meanwile
8:47 pm
biden has stated that second trump term would be a return to quote "chaos division" and many americans also believe that the results the votes show how divided the country is between two opposing camps. sarah bills is an independent journalist and geopolitical analyst from seattle, washington. we also have michael leon, director of policy and strategy, free and equal elections foundation, joins us from new york. well, welcome to you both. let's first start with you, sarah bills, if i may, taking a look at just. from the outside looking into the us, somebody who's not familiar with the elections and sees that you have uh these two uh who are appearing to be the ones that are going to be, i guess facing off uh with each other, it's kind of uh strange in the respect where there are other challenges and and i think that points to the question mark that there is on this two-party system, i think,
8:48 pm
because really people are wondering the the us doesn't have anyone better to offer, well, it's not that we don't have anybody better to offer, it's that um, we are stuck in a duopoly, we only have two-party system, and the way that it's set up is to discourage and even eliminate the possibility of third party or fourth party candidates from participating, so we have much better to offer, but they are not allowed the access to the ballots that the same peop that joe, someone like joe biden or donald trump is. back only on, um, when we take a look at uh, the um apparently the face off that's going to happen here uh the there are many that indicate that it's not about uh joe biden for many of the voters but it's about uh voting uh for biden to not have trump come on board is that uh is that a general view there in the states um i think no this is for i'm sorry this for michael leon michael go ahead
8:49 pm
sorry about that no don't worries and and to sarah's point you know that's what we're trying to do a free and equal election. about getting folks more access to be able to you know speak on their platform and what their messages to the american people, but back to your original point, you know, the last night's results uh with respect to the former president and nikki haley dropping out of her presidential campaign, it just shows what republican primary voters here think in the us, um, and michael leon, looks like we lost michael leon, so uh... taking a look at uh the what is going to be brought to the table uh here, what are we what are we looking at? mean uh sarah bills when we take a look at uh what biden has to offer and what trump will bring um do you think that uh this divisiveness that many talk about is what's going to happen when uh well we have michael we have michael back i'm sorry sarah bills
8:50 pm
let's go back to michael so we can have him at least give him the courtesy of finishing what he was saying michael go ahead. "you know the former president last night, it was really republican primary voters here in the us, of which he has you know 60 to 70% across states that are are came out emphatically and said nikki haley is not for them, they want to see donald trump back in the white house. now how that's going to translate come november, we don't know, cur current president biden has got low approval rating right now, um, he's dealing with some foreign conflicts that are not of the us is doing, however we are involved, maybe not. militarily, but we are involved, and we're starting to see, and you saw yesterday in some of the primary and caucus votes, that there was an uncommitted vote, which means people were almost protesting and not voting for joe biden, but voting for uncommitted because of... what is playing out in gaza and the atrocities that are happening right now between you know israel and hamas and so um i i think voters right now we're all going to continue to kind of over analyze this as we
8:51 pm
have nine months now but this is the matchup that we're going to get come november and it'll be interesting to see if donald trump can get the nikki haley voters to kind of sway in his direction because nikki haley ran a platform that was totally opposite of donald trump she kept saying that he has been losing since 2018 2020 2022 costing seats across the house and senate, and so she's like, i'm going to bring in a new coalition of voters and the open primary states last night where democrats and independence could vote in, they just didn't turn out for her, so it's really not indicative of anything, because we know that donald trump here in the us has a stranglehold on the republican party, it'll just be interesting to see what happens in november, if these folks opt into voting for donald trump, if they cross over in 2020 like they did and vote for joe biden or if they do the worst part, which is apathy and actually stay home and don't participate in the election. process all right, and to give you that question again, um, i think what was used was chaos division and darkness, that's what joe biden has said about trump serra bills, what do you think is that what he represents if he comes on board?
8:52 pm
um, no, i don't, i think that they're really not a very large departure from each other in terms of policy or change in government, um, as we've seen, there's no real tangible changes since donald trump has been office to where we are now with our foreign policy, so i mean i think that lot of the divisions are very much imagic. and um because people lack an actual political analysis of the situation, it's more of uh whose football team is better. all right, we're going to have to end it there. thank you very much, sarah bills, independent journalist and geopolitical analyst, and also like to thank michael leon, um, director of policy and strategy, free and equal elections foundation. thank you to you both. with that, we come to an end for this news review. escalating tensions between the us and china
8:53 pm
and the south china sea: that after naval incident between philippine and chinese coast guard boats sparked reaction in washington. the spokesperson of the us state department has called china's actions provocative and said that washington will continue supporting the philippines. beijing called on washington to stop intervening in its maritime disputes with manila. in the west philippines sea. spokesperson for the chinese fore ministry also called on the philippines to resolve its maritime issues with china through bilateral channels and not to allow the us to sew discord between the two neighbors. the us has also been deepening tides with taiwan through selling arms to the country despite objections from beijing. china has time and again warned that it will use force if necessary to add taiwan to its main land. and that does for this additional. thanks for tuning in, it's bye-bye for now.
