10:30 pm
first of we headlines in this hour. iran successfully puts new free imaging satellite into orbit. it's another achievement. the country's aerospace industry, anders calls on the saudi led coalition to stop the sige and aggression, stressing that yemen will not accept any form of western hegemoneny, and national morning in iraq for the victims of a wedding party fire in the iraqi city of hamdaniah, which is blamed a lack of safety of standards at the reception hall.
10:31 pm
10:30 pm in iras capital tehran, this is press tv news, thanks for joining us. iran has successfully launched a new satellite into orbit, it strict sanctions imposed by western states, aimed at crippling the islamic republic's peaceful space program. telecom minister has confirmed that the new 3 imaging satellite has placed into an order of 450 kilometers above earth. the islamic revolution gardscorre has carried out the launch using home grown satellite carria cassed. the aerospace division of the irgc launched the first iranian military satellite nur one in april 2020 and nur to in march 2022. this is washington opposed strict sanctions on iran's civilian space agency in 2019, allegging that it is used to advance tehran's ballistic missile program. iran is time and again denied. nuclear weapons,
10:32 pm
stressing that space program, like his nuclear program, is purely for non-military purposes. our correspondenti earlier joined us with more details on the new 3 satellite launch. this is a great achievement for iran considering the fact bad year that iran is under harsh sanctions, so seeing the country thrive. and so many fields and high-tech fields in particular is actually great news for iranians and the entire iranian nation is happy today to hear about this. this is something that always comes to mind whenever we witness some great achievement in iran considering the fact that iran has been under a us sanction since the beginning of the islamic revolution 1979 so basically what i'm trying to say is that for iran as nation is very difficult. to have access to anything,
10:33 pm
anything high-tech, these things are so harsh that in many cases they even include medicine and food, so the fact that you see iran achieving these heights in high-tech fields, fields like aerospace, there are only a handful of countries who actually have the technology, actually have concer space, so uh and something interesting bad deal, you have to note that many of these countries have done so with the help. help of the pioneers, the countries like russia and uh the united states or western countries have helped them with that, but the thing about iran is that its own achievements, it has achieved this uh with the help of its own scientists that iran is standing its own two feet, and that is what makes this achievement even more important and even more significant. iranian officials of time and again criticized western states. for what they see is a hybrid
10:34 pm
war against the islamic republic following the victory of the 1979 islamic revolution. researcher david miller who is also a former bristol university academic, has traveled to iran to investigate that issue. miller visited iran to personally see things happening on the ground. he talked to ordinary people and intellectuals about various issues, most specifically the role of the west throughout iranian history. miller particularly investigated the role that the uk has played inside of iran. from interfering in the country's affairs before the islamic revolution to measures conducted after the revolution. the outcome of his research has been presented in documentary dopt decolonization of the mind are on press tv. you can watch the documentary on press tv website. we were earlier joined by david miller, academic broadcaster and producer of decolonization of the mine documentary. he told us more about his motives for producing the program. well i i came to to aran in
10:35 pm
march and uh you know one one lives in the west, one sees a constant drum beat of... against and only um last the un general assembly we saw the ambassador of the science entity gilad erdan trying to interrupt the speech of president raisi and amongst the things he was saying there and posing outside with uh iranian opposition the murder of massa amini which sparked off this uh protest series of protests last year but everybody knows who's looked at this that masa amini was not murdered by the iranian state and indeed by anybody, and so what we see is a constant diet of propaganda, and i was aware of this, i've been studying propaganda in ireland, in iraq, in afghanistan for 30 years now, and so i was aware of this, but i i wanted to come to see iran for myself and see
10:36 pm
uh, try and get sense myself of what the country was like and provide as a result of that, an indication of how the country in reality differs from the uh lies which one gets in the western media. we've discussed the speech of the leader of yemen movements in our news review program, trying to read between the lines with our guests. let's take a listen. time now for the news review of this bulletin. the leader of yemen movement as reitated that his country will not... accept any form of western hegemony. abdul malik al-huthi urged the saudiled coalition to stop the aggression and crippling sige. he argued that the aggression meant to prevent the formation of an independent government in yemen that does not abide by foreign dictates. huthy also warned a plots hash by yemen's enemies to divide the country.
10:37 pm
meanwhile he reiterated yemen's support for the palestinian resistance condemning any form of normalization with the israeli regime. abdul malik al-huthi made the remarks in the speech on the occasion of the birth and of islam's prophet muhammad that was marked by huge nationwide rallies in yemen. yusuf is correspondent joining us from sana. is an activist and political commentator who also joins us from sana. welcome to you both. you first to you. that was huge turnout uh that happened. it was quite incredible actually when you take when you take a look at the images that came through, tell us uh about that and of course highlights the... importantes who took to the streets just here in the capital son and millions of yemenese who took to the streets in a number of provinces um to commemorate the birthday of prophet um the speech that was made today was very specific by the leader of the revolution
10:38 pm
sayid he directed his talk to let the uh western powers know that yemen is the process of forming an independent sovereign yemeny government that will not cater to any foreign influence in yemani land, and that's the problem with western nations, they seem to have a problem with countries who want to establish independence from western hegemany, and the military effort, the political effort, the revolutionary effort that this revolution day one set out to accomplish is to bring an end to saudi and us and yemen's internal affairs and supporters of the event today, they express condemnation at the saudi led coalition and specifically the crown prince muhammad bin salman for normalizing ties with israel and for also denigrating his society, denigrating saudi society. thank you for that, so let's break some of that down,
10:39 pm
actually. the first being the fact that we saw not only yemen have endured these this war, which recently the marked the anniversary of the revolution, but also the... fact that uh they are in talks right now and our correspondent there talks about how uh yemenise wants their nation to be free of western influence of hejamons um how much of of that do you think is realistic given the fact that they're talking to saudi arabia which apparently but i think you'll agree uh somewhat supported by the west in particular the u.s. will these talks will these talks yield the results that the ye deserve and aspire to, i think this talks directly saudi arabia, it was one of the few left option to end the war, because we remember when delegation used to talk with the so-called hi government or the new formed presidency of
10:40 pm
yemen which is located actually in riyadh hotels in kuwait one, kuwait two and in geneva and stockholm, they haven't resulted actually in anything because what the saudi actually was using, the so-called legitimate government and to obstruct any any deal, that's why to talk directly with saudi arabia is the best way, you don't you don't need any middle man because we know that this for is loyal saudi arabia are just a tool and do want yemen to be stable, they do want a free government and independent government in yemen to be formed, this exactly sayid abdul malik they have said today, and as well we have mentioned that he hasn't actually what has happened in the recent talk with saudi arabia, and i believe it's clear that when he call saudi arabia immediately end the war and... and see against chairman, it's a clear message that this talk actually hasn't ended
10:41 pm
really well and i believe that if yemani will take matterers to strike saudi arabia again i believe that saudi arabia will stop all its effort and will withdraw all its forces as well the united arab emirates will continue resume attacks against united arab emirates they have no uh the only thing they can do at that time is to with uh from yemen all right uh it's a pleasure talking to you both yusuf from sunah, activist and political commentator also from sona thank to you both with that come to an end for this edition of the news review thanks for tuning in breaking news your screens there regards the uh is attack on gaza strip in this case some point war planes are attacking what they are claiming to be training centres of hamas, which is democratically elected government
10:42 pm
there of the ghaza strip, but they're attacking it um, this is occurring in the western part of the beach gaza strip, at this point, there are no reports that we have received of any casualties or damages, but uh the damage being the training center, i'm sure any developments on that story of course we'll make sure give to you. moving to the mass of fire that engulfed the christian wedding ceremony in iraq's northern province of nineva, it left... over 100 people dead and scores injured, the fight gulfed a marriage hall in the town of hamdaniah where hundreds of guests had gathered for the event, there was no immediate official word on the caught the blaze, but initial report suggest that firework of the venue may have sparked the flame. according to medical sources, the majority of injured suffered from burns and asfuxiation, adding that there had also been crowd crushes at the scene. civil defense officials reported that highly flammable and low cost building materials helped the flames spread. causing parts of the ceiling to collapse. the provincial says the death doll could rise further. meanwile

10:44 pm
10:45 pm
safety senters were not in place in the roof so it started from the roof started fire started and then immediately it spread out the whole hall and the roof laps and then we witnessed the humanitarian catastrophe as a result of which in minutes more than 100 people the statistics we have that so far they have lost their lives more than 100 to more than two 100 have been injured, the key prime minister has ordered the interior minister and the minister of health, he has dispatched the two ministers there to go and be there on the... got the reason behind the cause of the incident. the year has passed since the attack on the northstream pipelines, as perpetrators have remained unknown. investigators from around the world
10:46 pm
are still proving the incident to resolve the mystery. in late september of last year, powerful explosions rock the pipeline. the northstream network followed by massive leaks of fuel and unprecedented damage. russia and several european countries called it sabatage as the gas pipelines are at the center of an energy standoff between the west and russia. investigations by scientists from around the world are still underway. amid all the scientific efforts, distinguished american journalist hursh claimed that the us partnered with norway in a top secret operation to blow up the pipelines. he argues as russia gained so much. profit through gas and oil exports, washington damaged the northstream as a deterrents move amit the ukraine. the white house, however has rejected the claims. hershe is a celebrated journalist who uncovered the 1969 miley massacre in vietnam, helping to expose the us abuses at the notorious ubagarape detention center in 204. george samuel is a senior
10:47 pm
research, fellow at the global policy institute who joins this budapest. you welcome, so when you're on, um, this issue obviously is still uh, still hot, i should say, because you have the security council who has renewed uh who's hearing new calls to determine what the cause of this is, of course we know the stance that russia has on this, and they have blame the us uh to have carried what they have called a criminal act, uh, reading here, guided by selfish desire to consolidate is dominance in europe, uh, there are also some new revelations in terms of uh other explosions that took place other than the two uh what do you think uh in terms of what has happened along with again like cimoresh that we indicated here uh blaming the us for this? well the easiest way to determine is um when you look at uh you know who's investigating and who isn't really
10:48 pm
bothering to investigate um the united states great britain uh the the five eyes, you know, they have the most sophisticated intelligence network in the world, i mean it's a you, and the baltic sea is probably the most surveiled piece of water in the world, so they're asking us to believe that they have absolutely no idea, one year later, they have absolutely no idea that who may have done this, i mean we we see in the united states, they're still arresting people um for taking part in the january, si protest uh, which was now more than two and a half years ago, they're digging up people from alaska, hawaii and whatever, so when the government once to move, then it moves, but the government doesn't want to move, then he doesn't move, now why doesn't the government want to move? well, because they don't like where the any serious investigation would point. hey to
10:49 pm
sound like a broken record along with many us, perhaps jorge samuel, but um, need to bring in picture what the us president joe biden said before conducted his special military operation, quote, if russia invades, that's what he said, that means tanks or troops crossing the border of ukraine, then there will be no longer northstream ii, we will bring an end to it. i know many faults uh joe biden for not being uh all there in terms of his upstairs, but this doesn't sound like something that uh would just be blurted out, and many are saying the us is responsible, so is: there enough weight given to this issue that uh the us presidents and the us intern obviously is involved in this? well not enough way is the people have that news conference, it was a remarkable site, this was early february 2022 when he was there with chancelor schuls and he said that and and the reporters naturally asked um,
10:50 pm
well how can you say that? i mean, how how can the united states decide that the... that there won't be anymore gas pipeline, i mean it's not your gas pipeline, i mean it's it belongs to russia, belongs to germany, i mean how can the united states decided, he said, well, there won't be a gas, and then remember it was a month before that victoria newlin, who is the current deputy secretary of state, she said exactly the same thing, that this pipeline will not go ahead, and again you, it was very puzzling, how how can they a us assistant? secretary of state that she then was, how can it, how can she decide whether pipeline that has nothing to do with the united states goes ahead or not, so that that's that gives you a clue, now the interest. thing was that um what americans have now which is that they're trying to point the finger at ukraine um though the extraordinary thing is that they haven't been
10:51 pm
able to identify one person one person was involved one group of people one photograph of anyone so all those ukrainians were involved but who are they where are they you where did they disappear to so this is obviously a cover story will blame it on the uh ukrainians uh largely to keep um chancellor happy because the germans understandably feel humiliated what happened. thank you very much for that. george samuel, senior research fellow at the global policy institute. moving now to the us state of washington where people have gathered outside the cuban embassy in solidarity following sunday's attack on the diplomatic premises. the cuban ambassador to the us has condemned the incident as a terrorist attack. the ananis. tores rivera says mulatov cocktails thrown at the embassy was part of pattern of attacks directed at cuba's overseas missions over the last 10 years. she stressed however

molatov cocktails in the mc compound on sunday. france's ambassador to niger leaves the country and tensions between the two since the african country's new rulers took jump power back in july. nigerians have hailed the departure as a significant victory for the nation, and an embarrassment for paris. it's real very big step. we cannot say it's a complete victory yet, because we haven't seen the others leave yet, but it is a bigger step because it shows us that the nigerian authorities and the nigerian people are determined to ensure that the french live nigerian territory. the french, if there is harassment to their people, it was caused by their president himself. they left at four in the morning. because they knew that if they left in the middle of the day, i believe that the nigerian people would have accompanied to the airport, military rulers have told the

the saudi crown prince personally stressed that the negotiations between kingdom of saudi arabia and the isionist israeli entity are both continuous and good. muhammad salman claimed that with every passing day his country is getting closer to normalizing its relations with the israeli entity, but this time he never. mentioned the arab peace initiative nor the two-state solution, and he did not repeat the traditional saudi position concerning an independent state with its capital be holy city of al-quds. there is something concerning in these statements as the optimistic language used by the south prince is not insistent with the current nature of the government, comes outside context of the accelerating collapse of what remains of the political peace process. mahammad bin salman to normalization this week stream. live without industry is
