we will see showers lift in our southern most zones. portions of southern new jersey and south delaware as well throughout the the overnight hours that rain fills in 2:00 a.m. from mount pocono all the way down to sussex county and rain continues to come in waves in the early morning hours, 4:00 a.m. heavy rain in the city, seven, eight, 9:00 a.m. is worst of it, kind of saturday morning if you can getaway stay inside in bed for an extended time, for glummy wet start to the saturday. good news it moves out quickly and by 1:00 o'clock we are dealing with lingering showers throughout the afternoon hours, we will see some clearing from the city north and west, plus sunshine just in time for sunset and nicer weather as we get into sunday. what to expect, through saturday morning especially cloudy and chilly with rain, half inch to the north and west, one and a half inches to the south and east, highest amounts to the south that rain does taper saturday afternoon and i have better news for sunday coming up as we move into the seven day forecast but i want to tell you about

>> reporter: andy waller stood before the media bravely telling the story of his four year-old son's lie, one of his trip let who died from the enterovirus d68. >> he was really excited about the first day of school, my new star wars backpack and lunch socks and new outfit. >> reporter: within days of eli's death that inspired the waller's to create the first day of school foundation, to help children with special needs like eli. >> eli was involved in dance, soccer, and when those things cost money. i'm determined to make something good out of this tragedy. >> reporter: first day of school foundation web site is up and running and ready for donations, with pictures of eli to inspire and word of a first halloween event, halloween, something that eli just loves. >> we sent eli, we sent eli off with his halloween costume, it is a special day for him, thinking of maybe howie lie is looking at me right now i think he would be

that. over 200 people on that flight and he almost ruin vacation or where ever, other reasons people were down here for what he thought was a stupid joke. >> reporter: health officials in the dough minute can new say passenger in question does not have ebola and never been to an infect area. meanwhile local groups are joining worldwide effort to help ebola victims in west africa. e nan tabernacle baptist church will host heart for liberia service day in germantown tomorrow. volunteers there will collect supplies, including food, medical gloves, and cleaning supplies, plus money. for more information on how you can help, just head to our web site at cbs philly.com. new at 6:00 tonight police in bucks county nabbed some thieves whom they say stole from rite aide. falls township police got a tip call early yesterday morning from someone who said they saw a pickup truck behind a rite aide trailer tractor at a warehouse and items were off loaded into that pick up.

police have now charged three people including driver of the tractor trailer, who police say sold the rite aide merchandise to the other two suspects. >> we're still trying to figure out how rite aide didn't pick up on this right away. we're suspecting he was taking small portions to the the different stores so it wouldn't be noticed as quickly but we're unsure how he did it. >> police say scam appears to have been going on for some time as much as $50,000 worth of merchandise may have been stolen. smiling and wise cracking with reporters quick mob boss joey merlino made a very public rhea experience in philadelphia today. it was in federal court to challenge new allegations that could land him back behind bars. here's "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter. >> how do you feel to be back in philadelphia. >> i miss mummers parade. >> reporter: cameras and reporters were waiting as convicted mob boss joey merlino made his first hometown appearance in 14 years returning to answer charges in federal court that

while living in florida, after serving 12 years in prison for racketeering, he violated provisions on have his supervised release. >> his association with convicted felons and members and an associate of organized crime. >> reporter: merlino made it clear he didn't think much of the allegations or the prosecutor. >> this guy is mental. >> reporter: while prosecutors claim merlino seen here prior to his 1999 arrest is still very much a mobster he had these word when reporters asked if he thought prosecutors had a vendetta a against him. >> what do you think. >> time they spend chasing joey merlino might be better spent fighting isis or dealing with the ebola out break. >> reporter: after listening to arguments during a 90 minute hearing the judge said he will rule at some point in the future about whether or the not merlino, in fact was in violation. as for merlino's possible future plans. do you plan on opening a restaurant joe. >> no, not at all.

i don't work at a restaurant. >> reporter: those plans depend on the judge's ruling which could lead to merlino serving as much as serving three more years behind bars. walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, right now police are searching for a suspect wanted in 14 robberies in northeast philadelphia, latest happened just this morning. this is surveillance video, between august and this month, police say this suspect has hit different bars and restaurants, liquor stores and convenient stores including five, 7-elevens. the man pulls a gun, demand money and then takes off. so far he has made off with thousands of dollars. two men who were caught on camera stealing bicycles in philadelphia are now and rest, and facing charges. police alleged that robert, and john starson, stole four bikes, at a garage on 18th street in rittenhouse square last weekend. the two were arrested yesterday allegedly while trying to steel two more bicycles at 33rd and market. he has also been charged with

stealing a 600-dollar mountain bike at 32nd and chestnut, on wednesday. well, search is underway tonight for robbery suspect who punched a victim in the the face, in south philadelphia. police say that the suspect attacked a 47 year-old victim, at bigler and darren and tried to take his bag. that happened back on september 15th. victim was able to fight off that suspect. if you know who that is you are asked to call police. president obama is intervening to avert a septa regional rail strike. the president has created a second emergency board to mediate labor dispute between septa and locomotive engineers. the the president's order requires septa to continue operating, as usual for a 120 days from the effective date of this new panel, that is monday, that is also when the the term of the first panel expires. members of the philadelphia federation of teachers spent part of this morning rallying outside public schools across the city. kelly elementary school in germantown this morning where teachers gathered for what they called a turn up for the truth rally, teachers handed out information countering what they say are misleading statements from the src. >> our members are willing to contribute to health care, at negotiations, we have made a proposal, saying that we will be willing to contribute, and that the src is indicating that we have not. >> the school budget crisis is getting national attention, the president of the american federation of teachers visited philadelphia and had this to say about the src's move this week. >> i have never seen this kind of reckless, manipulation of a political situation by a sitting governor, three weeks before an election. >> wineguard up says src refusal to bargain in good faith will only hurt children of philadelphia.

center in tacony and will be located on 20 acres of land next to its headquarters. new distribution center will replace dietz and watson warehouse that burned down in delanco, new jersey last year. this project will bring 158 new jobs to the city. >> we will our kitchen is here, distribute center, transportation hub and our corporate headquarters, they will all be located right here, that is almost, too good to be true. we're just thrilled. >> the expansion project will cost 50 million-dollar. a burlington county town has voluntarily shut down two wells, and a industrial solvent and cleaner classified as a likely carcinogen has turn up in the water from those wells. it was first detect in march of last year. carol erickson has more from moorestown. >> reporter: veronica jones hughes, and, and in the township of moorestown a much deeper and more difficult

clean up is needed, 400 feet deep in the ground in the township's water supply. >> one, two, three try clear propane and it is a solvent paint thinner type, contaminant. >> reporter: neither moorestown utility superintendent or anybody else knows exactly how the the one, two, three, got in the water, that comes out of the faucets in moorestown, but township didn't wait to, completely shut off, down to three, two big wells that pumped it up. >> and we are doing so voluntarily. >> reporter: that left outside well number nine and inside well number seven completely closed down since monday, no roar of the motors that normally pump half of the town's water, moorestown other unaffect water sources will keep picking up the slack to fill up the the short water glasses and the tall water towers. >> talking to our engineers is that there is several different, treatment options. >> i trust that they will be vigilant and make sure a water

time but app can be and track where the rain is, it is coming in and coming in fast and furious overnight and into tomorrow morning. lets look at how things are shaping up, just cloudy in the city, dry for now even though as we will show you, it will look like green is moving through mostly not reaching ground. not a horrible evening. it is on the chilly side. even though sun has in the gone down it is close but we have lights already up on the ocean city boardwalk because it is dark, gloomy, cloudy but looks festive right now, bundle up, head down and take a ride on the ferris wheel. we have a few people on the beach here in margate not the best beach day but still no bad for an stroll on the sand here on the live neighborhood network looking glummy as well. just gray across the region. been a very gray day but so far rain has not been a problem, steady rain off to the south, and showers moving through portions of eastern maryland and richmond, virginia but what we are focusing on is this area of rain right here lifting towards us and it will get here overnight and into early

saturday morning. lets time out the rain between now and midnight it is cool, light rain and drizzle here and there, should not preclude your evening plans. heading out to the fair or din are grab the umbrella but you will not need hard core rain gear here through midnight. after midnight all bets are off, rain intensifies, heavier rain looks to be early tomorrow morning, steady rain between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. half inch to a inch and a half, rain then tapers afternoon time tomorrow. so you can see heavier of the rain seven or 8:00 and then moves off the coast and we will try to clear things out as we head into saturday night and sunday, sunday is your better day to get on it side. how much rain? heavier rain from the city southward. these are spots that will get an inch of rain heading up to the north and west you'll still get in but not quite as much half inch to three-quarters of an inch for cities like reading and allentown. overnight forecast keeps it damp and chilly, steady rain developing late 51 degrees and if you can maybe stay in bed

you to look at a disable vehicle on 422, this is coming off of the 202 ramp here westbound you can see that pulled over in the right-hand shoulder causing a backup earlier but you can see brake lights as they moved past it but it seems to move past that rather well. over on the ben franklin bridge as well, really pretty much jam, having a hot date in the city tonight you'll be stuck. it will be earlier from the toll plaza westbound over in the city we are losing those two right-hand lanes due to that ongoing construction where we hit a mess. but 476 for turnpike lansdale, really clear. we will head up here north bound from the schuylkill, pennsylvania turnpike heavy trip there two minutes. on the pa turnpike eastbound from valley forge in the bensalem about 60 minutes there as well. now an accident on the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound at bensalem, left lane completely blocked and another accident bristol township new you portville road, aim stay there,
