"eyewitness news". >> new at 11:00 o'clock tonight, lured on facebook. a web of lies on social media ends with victims robbed at gun point. good evening, i'm chris may. >> i'm jessica dean. it is a crime that police admit they haven't seen a lot of before, and for that reason, they're telling people to be extra vigilant on social media. >> our nat is brown is live at southwest detectives with the details and the people that police believe are behind this unusual crime. natasha? >> reporter: well, we can tell you that this is apparently a boyfriend/girlfriend team and both of them are current until police custody at this hour. after police say they used something as innocent as a social media site to lure and what about their victims. >> i was scared. i just kept -- i just kept thinking oh, man, i hope this don't get my last night. >> after being robbed at gun point, this victim had chose in the to be identified knew it could very well have been a night that ended tragically.

after briefly meeting a woman on august 1st, he was lured to the 200 block of south allison street where the female suspect's boyfriend lie in wait. >> i park on the corner and she said meet me inbound under the tree. ooh call her back and asked her, i'm coming out the gun cocked back when i turned around, he was -- took everything my wallet, driver's license. >> little did this victim know it was a set up. police say 27 year old mariah harris had pulled the same stunt on two other men after trolling facebook scowering the social media site looking for victims. >> boyfriend girlfriend liked like the see nair yo they had had troll, find guys, have her meet her in this area which is pretty dark reasonable not many possible out. and then the boyfriend would lie in wait. >> it was setup. >> it was a setup. >> harris and her 26 year old boyfriend tyreece gibson have been arrested and charged with three separate robberies on this same block in southwest philadelphia. this victim wiser now and more weary of meeting anyone in an

area he doesn't know. >> have them meet you at a place where there's a lot of people or especially like where there's lights and stuff. >> social media is a good thing but it is over used and very dangerous if you don't take precautions. >> right now police don't know if there are possibly other victims out there. they do want you to come forward after seeing this story if you have been victimized. meantime this boyfriend girlfriend couple the two suspects currently behind bars facing three counts of robbery and related offenses. we're live at southwest detectives to night natasha brown cbs-3 eyewitness new. >> natasha, thank you very much. two people in our area have contracted the west nile virus. today we learned that a 49 year old from gloucester county and philadelphia man were both infected. but are recovering. health officials say this is prime time for west nile. they say the best way to avoid it to use mosquito >> the number of mosquito pools that are infected with west nile virus is rather high this year.

and it's continuing to increase. >> the risk of getting west nile will increase over the next few weeks because there are so many infected mosquitoes in the area. a day of summer fun went terribly wrong today for three children at a philadelphia public pool. they went in for a swim and ended up getting shocked. electrical current somehow got into the water at the o'connor public pool at 26 and south. todd quinones talk with one parent had says this may not have been the first time this happened there. >> reporter: trip to the pool her turned into a trip to the hospital for those three children. in the meantime maintenance workers here here are trying to figure out what went wrong so they can fix it. >> electrical current in this city pool shocked three childr children. they were rushed to children's hospital. they are said to be 13 years old and younger. it all started as a perfect summer day at the pool. that suddenly turned serious and scary. this woman's daughter saw it happen. >> she said one of the concern was about to get out of the pool, and touched the ladder and

was immediately shocked. and then his sister came over. i guess, maybe to help him, and then the sister was shocked. >> reporter: dougherty says her children were shock at the same ladder in june here at the o'connor pool at 26th and south streets. >> we were climbing up the ladder and it shocked us. >> it was just like a little shock. and it was like -- if you were a foot away you could still feel it. >> reporter: that came as a surprise to the park's and rec department. >> this is the first time that we've heard that there was an incident that there were shocks to our young people or adults that use that pool. >> reporter: dougherty didn't report the incident in june. >> i didn't because i really thought that were crazy, because they weren't holding on to the latter. they were just swimming in the water. >> late friday afternoon if he company workers were back at the pool testing the ladder with voltage meters. the kids were shocked at the ladder and around 1:15 friday. >> draining it, refilling this pool will not be open until we find out what the cause of this incident were today.

>> the parks and rec depth indicates that workers were out here earlier in the day working on the motor the pump. there were a total of 12 children in the pool at the time. as fourths three kids who were shocked and taken to chop, they were last listed in stable condition but i'm being told they should be just fine. reporting from 26th and south streets, todd quinn nope cbs throw "eyewitness news". >> new tonight a young mother killed in a deadly carjacking is remembered at a vigil in north philadelphia. 34 year old keisha william died last night. she was in critical condition for two weeks after she and five others were hit by a carjacked suv in the tioga section of the city. three of her children were killed in that crash. one woman from the northeast stopped by the crash site after hearing of williams' death. >> i felt she had passed away just like florred me and i just picked my granddaughter up from school and let's go by. let's go by and just -- we have to go.

>> keisha williams death means the suspects jonathan rosa and cornelius crawford will now face four counts of second degree murder and conspiracy. new details tonight in the tragedy that left two drexel hill boys orphaned. police say the boys father keith bella jonas shot and killed their mother christina yesterday before kidnapping the boys and taking them to staten island where he killed himself. those boys are now being cared for by their grandparents. tonight their aunt tells "eyewitness news" they have not talk much about what happened. >> they're young. they are aware of what happened. how much they actually comprehend. keep the kids in your prayers. they need all they can get. >> investigators believe the violence unfolded in front of those two boys. they say it was an argument that prompted that tragic chain of events. >> there's new information in the murder of a jogger near penny pack park in northeast philadelphia. the reward for information

leading to an arrest in the murder of connie murray is up to if you have tee thousand dollars. the ppa and diss truck council 21 added a combined $15,000 at the reward fund today. mcclain murray's brother was long time ppa worker. >> we've gotten a lot of tips and like i said we're running on those tips right now none of them have panned out as of yet but we'll continue working. >> mcclain murray was found dead tuesday morning. she had been strangled police have no suspects. few leads and they say they need the public's help. >> developing now at 11:00, just a short time ago, the u.s. conducted a second air drop of food and water to thousands of people still strand on the mountains in northern iraq. they're threatened by islamic militants the target of air strikes today. on the other side of the world here in philadelphia one young iraqi can't help but think of home and family.

money and resources to stop the spread ofha disease. the latest ebola outbreak in west africa is the largest and longest on record with death rate near 50%. at least 961 people died from the virus in that part of the world. >> hawaii is cleaning up from its first tropical storm in 22 years. iselle brought down trees and power lines and flooding. residents are keeping a close eye on hurricane julio. meteorologist kathy orr, what's the latest track? >> this is what it look like in oahu right now. rainy foggy conditions. and, yes, julio is going to ride to the north of the high want islands that's the good news much eighths category two storm. it will head north of the islands by sunday afternoon as a category one storm bringing some waves and also some strong winds but that's just about it locally our big concern and our big

>> investigators in delaware are trying to figure out why this plane crash landed today near the town of wyoming. authorities say that the pilot landed the single engine piper on the grassy runway of jenkins airport. but the plane then skidded across the road and stopped in that front yard. neither the pilot nor the passenger who were both from new jersey were injured. >> gm is urging owners of seven models of suv's to park them outside because they could catch fire even if they're not ru running. power window switch in the drivers side door can cause an

electrical short and overheat. possibly causing smoke or even a fire. today's recall affects noorly 185,000 suv's. among them the 2006, 2007 chevy trailblazer and gmc enjoy. owner took this video of the part in question. now there have been no deaths connected that this problem but there have been dozens of fires and hundreds of complaints. gm recalled the suv's for the problem twice before but the previous fixes simply did not work. gm issued a recall for keys that could fall out of ignitions for some saturn bue suv's. for complete list of all these vehicles, just go to cbsphilly.com. the death of former white house press secretary james brady is officially ruled homicide. brady was shot in the head in attempt on president ronald reagan's live in 1981. according to an autopsy, the gunshot wound and its health consequences are responsible for his death on monday.

in addition to partial paralysis brady suffered short term memory troubles, slurred speech and constant pain. >> the suspect in the deadly shooting at the mercy fitzgerald wellness center in darby is now behind bars. richard plots was released from the hospital thursday and taken right to the delaware county prison. he's charged with the murder of his social worker theresa hunt and the attempted murder of his psychiatrist dr. lee silverman. silverman suffered a graze wound but returned fire with his own gun striking plots. >> security concerns are growing he. just blocks from music fest stages. that is festival draws million visitors from across the nation each year. now the mayor of bethlehem is vowing to ramp up security as are festival organizers. >> we have our community police, county emergency management department. state police. we have the state, lancaster and bethlehem police on horses forces throughout the community and even the presence of the fbi. >> music fest which is

looks like that's the way it is going to stay for the weekend. philadelphia 75. our warm spot in the city as usual to the north 65 in allentown. 58 in the poconos, a cool night. crack the windows and get that fresh air while we have it. 67 in millville. and 68 at the airport and that is in atlantic city. in ocean city on the 71. stone harbor 71. cape may 70 degrees. ocean water temperature is warmer than the land this evening with those clear skies and light winds. fair weather high pressure brings in the sunshine. the dry conditions. temperatures will be the 80s for saturday. it will be quite warm. sunday, temperatures once again in the 80s with plenty of sunshine. there's a chance of a few clouds sneaking in during the day on monday. warmer conditions with high humidity. we'll watch that storm move offshore and and that our next weather maker is hanging off screen with this cold front. we're talking about few showers and thunderstorms by tuesday and then a few on wednesday. but that will be little bit of a blip in the seven day forecast much that's just about it as far

as rain is concerned. overnight it will be clear and moonlit. comfortable as well. the low 64 in the city. cooler in our suburbs. saturday sunny and pleasant 86 degrees with low humidity. and if you're going to be out in the evenings sunday you have to take in the super moon. it is expected to be the biggest and brightest of entire year ats closest point to the earth. thus making it an extra super moon it will be 14% closer but at left 30% brighter. enjoy the view it looks like the viewing conditions will be excellent poconos looking great for the weekend into next week with plenty of sunshine. on the seven day forecast. saturday, sunday and monday perfect. then some clouds and a few storms possible tuesday and early wednesday we dry it out again, 81 on thursday. 82 friday. shore temperatures staying in the 70s. but when you're at the beach, it's still quite warm. uv index will be high. >> put on the sunscreen. um-hmm. always. >> kathy kathy thanks. >> welcome back to the
