nothing comes close to this place in the morning. i'm so glad i can still come here. you see, i was diagnosed with obstructive hcm. and there were some days i was so short of breath. i thought i'd have to settle for never stepping foot on this trail again. i became great at making excuses. but i have people who count on me so i talked to my cardiologist.
5:28 am
i said there must be more we can do for my symptoms. he told me about a medication called camzyos. he said camzyos works by targeting what's causing my obstructive hcm. so he prescribed it and i'm really glad he did. camzyos is used to treat adults with symptomatic obstructive hcm. camzyos may improve your symptoms and your ability to be active. camzyos may cause serious side effects, including heart failure that can lead to death. a risk that's increased if you develop a serious infection or irregular heartbeat or when taking certain other medicines. so do not stop, start or change medicines or the dose without telling your healthcare provider. you must have echocardiograms before and during treatment. seek help if you experience new or worsening symptoms of heart failure. because of this risk, camzyos is only available through a restricted program. before taking camzyos, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including current or planned pregnancy. today with camzyos, i don't lose my breath as often. my symptoms have improved, helping me go from expecting less to experiencing more. my name is mike. and this is my camzyos moment.

there's a lot of cloud cover rolling over us. low high clouds and with any sun breaks, maybe on the muggy side here, especially santa clara valley. i mean, it wouldn't take much. we're sitting in the mid 50s here for some even upper 50s under cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, that moisture coming up from the south, that's adding a little different. a little humidity to the factor, but just a cloud away here. lots of clouds, mild lows with a south breeze. so cloudy to mostly cloudy. but if you can get that sun break or two, you might pop up to about 7060s on most of the temps. all right, sal is here 6:00. he is starting with i think i'm going to start with the tried and true favorite steve. >> and you know what that is i don't have to tell you. let's go to our triple a traffic camera. that's right. the bay bridge toll plaza. when that's going well i think the rest of the commutes are as well. this is a look at the commutes backed up for about ten minute delay, maybe before you get on to the bridge. we don't see anything on the bridge itself. and there have been no problems in the east bay so far. this is a little slowing on highway four

6:03 am
team said they are working closely with arizona's democratic governor, katie hobbs, a strong stance on abortion and abortion care is nothing new for newsom. it's been a major focus of his. he's run ads all across the country, specifically in states where abortion bans have gone into effect, like in the south, and they are being paid for by his campaign for democracy pac. >> yes, i'm going to need you to step out of the vehicle, take a pregnancy test now. >> on sunday, newsom appeared on msnbc and said not enough attention has been placed on the fact that states are criminalizing women's access to reproductive care, but also on their ability to travel. since roe v wade was overturned nearly two years ago, a number of conservative states have started to limit access to the abortion procedures, while other states like california have taken steps to protect those rights. now, according to governor newsom, people seeking reproductive care in california is up 17% since

thing that i found out about the san mateo bridge. there is a stalled car that was just reported. now the traffic is not slow yet and it may never get slow. hopefully they'll get it out of the way, but if that is your commute, we'd like you to get out there soon. sooner rather than later. just to avoid any possible long delays. yesterday we had a long delay on the san mateo bridge for the same reason it wasn't a crash, but once there's a stall on this bridge, it usually gets, you know, it gets pretty slow. so if you want to avoid the san mateo bridge, 880 doesn't look too bad . you can see for a traffic camera here that traffic is moving along very well. and at the bay bridge we have a very typical delay that is backed up for about a 10 to 15 minute wait. no trouble on the bridge itself. as you get into san francisco right now. 626 let's go back to the desk. >> thank you. sal, a local man fighting for his life after being hit by a car while riding his scooter to work. we're going to hear from coworkers who are

passed a huge bill. it includes a possible ban on tiktok, and president biden is expected to sign it. ktvu allie rasmus is here now to explain what it all means and why lawmakers are doing this. good morning allie. >> good morning dave and pam. well, 170 million americans have accounts on tiktok, making it one of the most popular social media apps in the us. and while tiktok's parent company bytedance has satellite offices all over the country, including here in san jose, bytedance is headquartered in beijing, china, and according to us policymakers and lawmakers and national security experts, the company has very close ties to the chinese government, and that's why they are concerned. they're worried that foreign government will have too much influence over tiktok's millions of us users. last night, the senate approved a bill bipartisan support that would give bytedance, the parent company of tiktok, one year to sell the app to a non-chinese company. if it doesn't, tiktok would no longer
6:34 am
be accessible to update or to download on us phones after that year. >> while this bill is not a ban, it's about a divestment. and it's not really about tiktok. it's about bytedance, the company that owns tiktok and is indisputably controlled by the chinese communist party. >> the main thing i feel is, is conflict. i feel conflicted because on one hand, i've built a brand on there. my company's able to work with a lot of big brands on there to help them get their message out. it really is a way to get messaging out that can be positive, but ultimately it needs to be sold to an american company, i think so that we can at least have some regulation on it. >> now, this tiktok ban idea was tucked into and passed as part of a larger bill that passed last night to give foreign aid to ukraine. israel and taiwan. the one year deadline would go into effect as soon as president biden signs the bill, and the white house says he is expected to sign it today. now in response, tiktok hasn't yet made
6:35 am
any official statements, but an internal memo to bytedance employees was leaked earlier this week and first reported by the tech and business site the information. and it says that the company does plan to challenge this bill if it becomes law in court on the grounds that it's a violation of the first amendment. live in san jose allie rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. >> all right. thank you, ali. well, that same foreign aid package included billions of dollars in war in aid for ukraine and israel. >> now, the senate overwhelmingly passed the bill days after the house passed it as well. the bill provides $61 billion for ukraine, $26 billion for israel and $8 billion for taiwan to counter threats from china. the aid for ukraine comes at a time the country says it desperately needs new weapons to hold off attacks from russia. >> every day you can say you made the world truly a better place, but i think the senate
6:36 am
can say that tonight. >> now, president biden told ukraine's president the new air defense weapons will be on its way as soon as the legislation is passed. the president is likely to sign that bill later today. time is now 6.35. here at home, a group called save west portal is fighting transit improvement plans in that neighborhood. the proposed plan calls for banning left turns on busy west portal avenue. the group claims that this plan will put family run stores and restaurants out of business. the sfmta's conducting its last poll with the public at 4 p.m. this afternoon, right outside the west portal branch library. the plans to redesign streets were sped up after the deaths of a family in a crash at a bus stop near the west portal muni station open. it's now 636. a man who works as a baker in san francisco is in critical condition now after he was
