campbell police shot and killed a man early tuesday morning. >> it was like boom, boom, boom, boom, and that's what scared me. her cell phone. as more officers arrived at the apartment, i woke up. >> it was around four in the morning. i went to the bathroom. i come back and i hear like gunshots and i'm like, oh my god. and i hear, no. and i'm like, oh my god. like i get goosebumps. i'm like, what's going on? i won't open the door, but i say they received a 911 text message from spa woman describing a domestic violence incident about 3 a.m. the woman said her two children were in the apartment with 31 year old miguel augustine nava gomez. police say, after gomez refused to comply with commands to exit the apartment, campbell policeúsay officers then entered the unit, the suspect unknowing to the officers, had armed himself with a handgun and he te direction of the officers inside the apartment at just outside of

the apartment, there was damage to the wooden awning that looked like bullet holes, and the neighbor next door says police came to his unit to ask if anyone had beenúhurt. >> so they did tell us, like, make sure it didn't come through your wall, because there was gunshots. i was like, okay, so i just checked out real quick and everything was all good. >> police say they also discovered gomez had an active spwarrant, and the woman restra. neighbors say for the most part, the building is fairly quiet, and this level of violence is unusual. >> i was kind of shocked, too, to be honest. >> why were you shocked? >> because it never happens around here that much. youúknow, like i've never seen that, especially in my apartments. you know. no one else was injured in this incident, but the policet& chief did tell me that the woman involved was also arrested. >> he didn't give details, but he did say that there was evidence that the children were

put in danger while in her care. protective custody. lamonican peters ktvu, fox two news tonight, the city of oakland approved a measure meant to address excessive false alarms involving home alarm systems. ñ> the ordinance wouldúrequire alarm companies to confirm a crime has beenúcommitted or is being committed, before police are actually dispatched to the area. the president of the california alarm association verified response, would, calle- jeopardize public safety. but city council member rebecca kaplan saidc the ordinance is needed because of the high percentage of false alarms that are draining police resources between 96e and 98% of these alarms are turning out to be false alarms. choose to divert a police officer away from fighting a real crime, to go to something that has a 90% to 98% likelihood of being a false alarm reduces our public safety. >> after feedback from the community, the ordinance will not require people with existing

systems to change them to verified response unless they oy members who were killed now at a bus stop in san francisco's west portal neighborhood overúthe identified today as 40 year old diego cardoso de oliveira and 38 year old matilda moncada ramos pinto. their toddler son died it crash. the couple's six month oldúson, kaweah, is still being hospitalized tonight, treated for his injuries, which are critical. the family bus stop oy afternoon when they were all hit by an suv. police say the driver, 78 year old mary fong lao, also remains in the hospital and is facing vehicular manslaughter charges. her attorney says sheúis cooperating with the investigation. and as the west portal community struggles tocúcope with this deadly accident, san francisco transit officials are now considering where to place 33 speed cameras across the city.

one spot under consideration is fulton street, running alongúthe north side of golden gate park. a man who lives nearby says it can be dangerous at times, and he's hoping theúcameras will encourage drivers to slow down. >> you constantly have to be, paranoid or have your head on a swivel. the cars go super you wg to get hit on a daily basis, especially with the young one. i have a two year old daughter. >> the speed camera sorted city install 33 cameras along the some of the city's high injury corridors. the sfmta is expected to give its final approval onúthe locations for those cameras. the hope is to have them up and operational by 2025. all right, now to get to some developing news in san franciscon two people have been sent to the hospital tonight after a bikeúaccident. fire officials say the victims were

going toútake away parking spots. >> there is also a question of equity, making sure that all neighborhoods get equal treatment in the bayview. there are plans already to use state funding to build an eight unit fast charging plaza. they hope they will get some curbside charging stations with us in all communities, especially with us, especially communities like ours and the bayview and chinatown, where there are less electric vehicle users. the city says after they've completed their study, they plan to ask for community input before they implement any of these curbside charging stations in san francisco. jana fox two news musicians of the san francisco symphony are urging the board to keep music director esa-pekka salonen from leaving. >> salonen announced that this will be his final season, saying he does not share the board's goals. today, the musicians released an open letter calling the departure a great loss fort& the organization. they said the symphony's decision to cut programing and cancel touring

president joe biden is on a big campaign trip out west as he and former president trump swept tonight's primaries. >> and this story beginning tonight's west coast round. the president flew into phoenix early tonight. president biden's visit comes as his administration launched its first latino focused ad, latinos, with biden. harris. its purpose is to target bilingual audiences in battleground states. the president also went to visit a mexican restaurant where he spoke to voters. tomorrow, biden is expected to announce a multibillion dollar grant for santa clara based intel to expand its chip production right here in thet& united states. >> in washington, the university of washington's famous cherry blossoms have reached their peak
