louis encephalitis in clark county. the southern nevada health district says the patient is a man over the age of 50. another man contracted the virus last week. he was treated and released from the hospital. the virus is transmitted to humans through mosquito bites. some parents at droal red rock elementary are getting a lesson in behavior...from the school's principal. a letter went out to parents yesterday-- after one parent's extreme behavior left a staff witnesses say... multiple pareents cursed and threw rocks at staff because they were upset about the silent dismissal system which releases the students in waves. the principal's letter reads in part.. quote: "how are we supposed to teach our students... how to behave ....when the parents are behaving this way in front them?" it's been a year and a half

the court says the hoa owes him, for sandbagging and defying court orders. it's almost unheard of for an hoa to pay you, the homeowner. but jonathan friedrich got ten-grand from the rancho bel air board after filing a lawsuit, accusing them of fraud. 3:13 jonathan: they violated state, federal and municipal laws. and i've called them out on it. the board was forced to pay sanctions for being evasive and disobeying c friedrich's ongoing case. he started the fight after discovering he's not part of an hoa... even though he lives in a guard-gated hoa community. 13:10 darcy: you believe rancho bel air belongs in the hoa hall of shame? jonathan: you betcha, because they have lied, they have cheated, they have deceived people. they tried to take my home away from me! they tried to foreclose! they had no authority to do that! to understand why the hoa had no authority to do that even after friedrich stopped paying his

expected to celebrate "labor day weekend" here in las vegas. if developers of the proposed nfl stadium get their way... those same tourists will be helping pay for the $1.9 billion dollar project. so we decided to take a look at... how much money would be generated for the stadium over this weekend if the .88 percent room tax increase was in place. let's assume all of the 307,000 tourists are sharing a room with someone. that means 153,500 rooms b on an average $109 room the increased room tax would add an extra 96 cents. that would generate $147,360 dollars a night for the stadium... if those tourists stay three nights... that number jumps to $442,080. some have said the increase could deter people from coming to las vegas... so we took that question to the streets. mos: when it comes to big cities... las vegas is currently on the lower end when it comes to room

texas has forced prosecutors to dismiss 142 criminal cases. the harris country district attorney's office says evidence related to the cases, which were mostly drug related, was destroyed... the alleged mix-up took place when two deputies, decided to clean out the property room at harris county precinct four. the district attorney's office says it didn't know about the overhaul until it was too late. and it nearly cost her -2- thousand dollars. 13 action news anchor tricia kean has her story ...so you don't make the same mistake. < liz lane: how can somebody be so lacking in compassion? liz lane is at a loss. she and her kids moved into this 37- hundred square foot rental home last september, and were looking to move out at the end of their lease. liz lane: i followed the protocal of sending them a but what liz did her lease runs through september. liz lane: i reached back out to her and i said i'm really sorry. i thought it was august 31st, instead of september 30th. but this email shows, her management company quote "decided to accept and enforce the notice" liz had sent them. they expected her out by the end of august, and to pay a 2-thousand dollar fee for breaking her lease.
