9:01 am
cleared in in here and out in morning. james and ari, good morning. good morning, everybody. a mixed bag of some sun and clouds. how your friday will be written. cool temps, though, you know this little bit below average. that's all right. 60's. >> for much of the inland it will make up for a little bit this weekend as we warm up, particularly into early next week. here's the beauty shot that we have the golden gate bridge. we're joining you this morning. there's drizzle going on. the road was wet when you can see how nicely that's cleared out. but notice the onshore winds around all day today as we have this big area of low pressure in the west coast, not delivering much in the way of precept does not much moisture which to play with that will drive some winds for the in southern california and actually be a severe weather maker later throughout the weekend and early next week. and the rest, the country onshore winds out of the teens. for now, we'll see him pop in the 20's and some locations, particularly along the coast. our ratings are in the 50's and near about 60 already. hayward, you pop 60 61 up to nevado. 59 meanwhile for san jose and 64 antioch. so for today, again,
9:02 am
that mixed bag, a sun and clouds and lots of 60's for of more in your weekend forecast coming up in a bit right now. reyna standing by with a traffic update right now. all right, dave, thank you for that the best we've look so far this morning. we started off. >> even in the 5 o'clock hour delays bridge right now, 14 minute ride, no longer seeing traffic building at the toll plaza that sticks like dave mention. we got a lot of high winds out there. so our san mateo bridge has been blowing back and forth throughout the morning, not impacting the drive times. right now, 13 minute ride was earlier, though, richest ever feel bridge. 14 minutes. golden gate bridge around 20 checking on some of those other high was a for it to their right a good time. 15 minutes, antioch, to concord, terry jones, back to you. thank you. rain. it's breaking news from overnight. san francisco firefighters have put out a massive fire. >> in a building online and clay street luckily it wasn't occupied. this is in the presidio heights neighborhood and that's where kron four's will tran is for us from the scene. will. >> the fire is out. but the

windy. the fire created all kinds of smoke that it was like thick fog. not to mention it was misty at the time. so it made them, they say hard to hold on to some of their equipment, but they were able to pounce on it. short time after that, they knocked down the flames. but in the meantime, they did tell their everybody nearby, stay inside. close your windows. don't even step outside because breathing would be very difficult. i did talk to one woman and she didn't want to go on camera, but she said it wasn't the fire. it wasn't the commotion, but it was the smoke that actually woke her up inside her home. she's very rattled by what happened as far as this particular place, the age of the building actually save the building because it's much older they use redwood and redwood is very durable. even during intense fires like this one, which is why it never collapsed. that allowed
9:05 am
investigators to go inside as early as about 2 and a half hours after the fire was knocked down. so they're going through there right now. the fire department did such a wonderful job that the damage was contained only to the front of the building. no damage to either buildings on the left or the right side. and again, everybody moving about right now. but this is multi million dollars worth of damage to this house. back to you. >> ok, well, thank you for that update. and another big story that we're following. an east bay community is mourning the loss of the whole family that died in a car crash. test. a gators say this family of 4 was in a car when it crashed into a tree and caught fire. kron. 4 sarah stinson explains. >> people continue to drop off flowers here on foothill road where a mom dad and their 2 kids died in a car crash. neighbors of the family say they were headed home from a friend's house when the crash happened. >> it's sad and tragic.
