degrees later today. as i mentioned, we still have that chance of an isolated shower. i'm not ruling it out, but we will see plenty of sunshine, too, and actually a pretty favorable day before tomorrow's very rainy conditions. i'll talk more about that as we go as for our roads right now, things out there just wet as i mentioned, but no active rainfall for most areas. and that is going to be a bit of good news is you do get to the roads and the morning commute begins to kick up. of course, watch for those slick spots after some pretty decent rainfall last night up in marion, north of the golden gate, many spots over an inch of rain over the past. 24 hours. great. all right, john, thank you for that. in the south bay, san jose's alum rock school district facing some pretty serious money problems. >> this could cause some schools to close leaving students in limbo from four's will tran live in san jose with the details on that. so will what he learned. >> well, the administrators right behind me, they will show up in a couple of hours

from now and they have to put their heads together because they have to ratify the new budget for the next year come june. but they're already seeing that they are about 20.8 million dollars in deficit. and that means tough decisions. now i can tell you this school district has 22 schools. 8,000 students, they range from kindergarten all the way to the 8th grade. so everything is ok for this year. they projected into next year. they will have to make tough decisions because they are not getting as much money from federal state and local tax tax breaks and other initiatives that should be going their way. that to help them meet the budget deficit, whether or not just getting as much as they did in previous years. and that means they have to make the tough decisions or their bosses from the santa clara county board of education. they will step in and take over this operation. so take a look at your screen. these are some of the things that are on the
5:33 am
table. they will have to do a hiring freeze for 48 positions, cut benefits or at least freeze benefits and services and the toughest decision of all. and that impacts a lot of parents and students, of course, they have might have to scott close some schools and that means a lot of students will have to be rerouted to schools, not near their location. now, if you're a teacher here as well, you are staring at possible layoffs. all of this because they are trying desperately to close the gap. so this school district like a lot of people out there, they just don't make enough money to make ends meet. and that's why they are facing these tough decisions. fortunately, reyna, they have about 2 or 3 months left to make these tough decisions. hopefully it will not be painful, but it looks like right now. 21 million dollars approximately 21 million dollars will have to be closed as far as that gap. >> back to all right. well, this is something we're going

5:35 am
for hours before the game. but the oakland a's decided this year they're going to be opening up those gates only 2 hours before the game. the game starts at 7. so this will be around 5 o'clock essentially throwing a wrench in the boycott plans, but also causing a traffic jam near the coliseum as it sits right off 8.80, oakland city officials have publicly asked the a's to open up the gates earlier as traffic could be a safety concern. and not only is the game happening around that time, but also singer-songwriter kesha cool is hosting a concert at the arena, which is right next store at that time. right now, local officials are asking the east public transportation if they do expect a large backup during that traffic jam hour. officials from the a's have yet to make any changes in organizers for tonight's boycott say they do plan on lining up as early as possible. and we did reach out to the oakland a's media team this morning to ask regarding that time. so right now it's set to open up the gates at 5 o'clock. the game starts at 707, as to what the crowd's going to look like. well, organizers say they're
5:36 am
