entire bridges fall into the harbor. >> mile and a half long. that bridge and there were cars and construction crews on it when it crashed in baltimore. so let's get to the very latest on all of this conference reyna harvey here in studio with what we know about this developing story ran. yeah, just a tragedy. so the crash happened around one 30 this morning. >> officials issued a state of emergency calling this a developing mass casualty event. so take a look. you can see the ship right there appearing to hit a support beam of the francis scott key bridge authorities say construction crews working on the bridge at the time. the collapse plunged the crew and several vehicles into the dangerously cold waters in seconds. so rescuers so far they pulled out to people. one has serious injuries, but 6 others from the construction crew are still missing at this hour. we want to give you a live look. what is it a listen, but what you think that you would. >> physically see the key

were driven by nature brothers, an avid outdoorsman, talen and wyatt brooks enjoyed hunting and fishing together. almost every day and searching for deer. antler sheds near skid row. and kelsey on saturday a past time, they've always done together this time of the year. they would literally fight for their lives together when a healthy 90 pound male mountain lion attacked them. the family shared details of the brothers deadly encounter with the lions. they say talen and wyatt. 21 in 18 years old first spotted the mountain lion walk up a dirt road and immediately raise their hands to look larger. they yelled at it and why it even through his backpack at the lion to try and scare it away. but instead it charged at wyatt and bit him in the face, taking him to the ground and talen out of. that love for his brother began to. the line to try to get it the line and then turned its aggression to talen

biting him in the throat and forcing him to the ground. wyatt fought for his brother. >> to a point where he was to any further they fought for each other. they did what everything that they could severely injured. wyatt ran to an area where he could get a cell signal to call 9-1-1, around. >> deputies soon after found talen with the lion crouched down next to him and after they fired shots to scare the lion, it took off sadly talen had already died. the actions they took were what we advise people to do and that type of a scenario. and unfortunately wasn't enough. 3 trackers and search dogs responded to find the mountain lion. these are dogs that are specially trained for this and they

than 3,000 registered nurses who work for santa clara county's health system are planning to walk off the job next tuesday over a contract dispute. they've been in negotiations since fall with the focus on salary benefits and patient care. >> we've exhausted all measures at the negotiation table and we feel that the county's negotiation team is not being serious and they don't want to be collaborative with us. we're facing extraordinary a structural deficit at the county. >> and we have committed. we continue to be committed to a fair contract for nurses. >> meantime, knowing this is coming, the county says that they have taken steps to fill the positions for the strikers. but certain services may be unavailable for those 3 days. if you are a patient, you're going want to call ahead. >> well, happening today, the san francisco firefighters and city officials are going to be holding a rally at noon today at city hall. this comes as officials want to ban cancer,

causing chemicals in firefighters. protective gear. a recent study shows that all 3 layers of firefighting gear as it's currently manufacturer today contain a class of florida chemicals known as forever chemicals which have been linked to cancer and other serious health effects. now, this exposure leads to higher rates of cancer among firefighters. and according to the study since 2006, more than 300 active duty and retired san francisco firefighters have died from cancer. some san francisco board of plan to introduce the legislation after the rally for free chemical turnout gear and retire the old guild old gear. well, the price to drive across the iconic golden gate bridge is about to go up starting july. first to most drivers will see a total increase of about $0.50. so currently, it's 9.75 that will go up to 10. 25 fast track drivers will see their current 8.75 told go up to 9.25. the toll will continue to increase by $0.50 each and every year.

police have arrested a woman for starting a fire at a home over the weekend on sunday afternoon, a home on alameda de la aloma caught fire. and authorities say that amy lewis is the one who did they say she lit something on the upper portion of this home and the fire caused significant damage to homeowners were not home at the time and they don't know. lewis. and now she has been arrested on suspicion of felony arson. >> internet is buzzing after the department of homeland security raided multiple homes. >> of music mogul sean diddy combs. the raids happened yesterday afternoon in los angeles and miami beach and are part of a possible ongoing trafficking investigation. investigators reportedly took several electronics and other things from the home in miami and at least 2 people were arrested at combs, beverly hills mansion.

>> the fact that you see federal law enforcement rating to of sean combs as homes indicate that they think that there's evidence of potential wrongdoing at those residents in recent months. he was accused of abuse in 4 cases. >> he has denied any wrongdoing. >> well, 10 26 is the time and a news story for your health this morning. number of bars in california could become safer. a new bill announced yesterday by the california department of alcohol beverage control requires bars and nightclubs to offer kits now capable of testing drinks for date, rape drugs commonly referred to as ru fees. the new bill goes into effect in july on july. 1st, it's an effort to protect anyone from being drugged while out at clubs. the law will impact about 2400 businesses throughout california. the test kits coming in for forms from test strips to stickers to straws or other devices. so keep an eye out for him. 10. 27 is the time we're going.

incident, a gatos man was arrested and accused of was back in 2002 and 2003, s -- he's been identified as sean thomas police say that he was working as a track and field coach at los gatos high school when he was arrested last week. but before that. when these allegations when he's accused, he was a teacher at lee high school at the time. the last assault, the san jose police have a message for anyone who is a victim or survivor. >> we here j p to want to let survivors know that it is okay to come forward to detectives. we're here to hear you. we are here too. make sure that the suspect is held accountable and put behind bars so that predators don't go after children. >> in a statement kron 4, the campbell union high school fistrict says they're cooperating with the investigation and the safety of their students is of paramount importance and in a statement to kron 4, the ace empower academy said that the employee was put immediately

on administrative leave the same day they were informed of the improper communications and the employee resigned on january 10th. >> now the latest in the case of a 3 year-old girl who died while her family was performing an exorcism on her. prosecutors call their final witness yesterday and now a judge will decide if the family will stand trial. >> the mother, uncle and grandfather of the girl are all accused of killing her and a horrifying exorcism ceremony in a backyard church in san jose. the coroner says she died of suffocation and smothering and they all have pleaded not guilty to charges of felony assault on a child causing death. >> the judge again now deciding if the da has enough evidence to put all 3 on trial. that decision is expected in april. all 3 defendants are being held at the santa clara county jail without bond. and if convicted, they could face 25 years to life in prison.

antioch police are trying to figure out how a body ended up in a creek. that body is that of a 38 year-old man who was a resident of antioch. they found of just below the highway for on-ramp there behind the slatten ranch shopping center. police say foul play appears to been ruled out. right now. they're still looking for the exact cause of death. however. >> very do you find someone in a in the area that's not heavily populated regular foot traffic. what regular vehicle traffic, where you where that someone might. frequent on a regular basis. and it's kind of out of the way, obviously, to the coroner's office. they're going to wait for the toxicology results and take a deeper look into. any existing medical history that this individual might have that. >> officials say that man has not been reported missing. it's 10 35 and in the north bay, a homeowner shaken up because somebody painted a swastika on one of their ukrainian flags. 2 flags in

total were targeted over the weekend. novi police think this is a hate crime. and kron 4 sarah stinson shows us why. >> police say someone spray painted swastikas on ukrainian flags at 2 homes in mill valley. the affected neighbors already replaced their flags. i spoke with the owner of this home. he says he's deeply disturbed, especially as a jewish man. >> but to see it as watch the got your front lawn is just something that. that is beyond terrible. it's the motion. i'm sorry, it's it's emotional. can walk tell got choked up when talking about the vandalism that happened. >> at his mill valley home on saturday, was out of town when he got an e-mail with pictures showing a swastika spray painted on the ukrainian flag on his property. nothing can. take that from my from my mind. wachtell has lived in this home for 40 years. he has previously served on city council and as valley, he says

you can help identify the vandals. i'm sara stinson reporting in mill valley. back to you. >> governor newsom made a major announcement today about drugs being seized at the southern border. we have kron four's reyna harvey here the studio with details on what was sees. good morning right and are in james. so last month, california national guard sees more than 1 million fentanyl pills in the state. about 592,000 pills at the southern border. governor newsom is urging republicans in congress to act fast on border security, bipartisan border security deal is currently being blocked by republicans in congress. the deals include funding and new mechanisms to track down fentanyl trafficking. so last week president biden signed a bill into law that includes about 10 million dollars in funding for cal guards. counter narcotacs operations as well. last month governor newsom visited the california mexico border and that with president biden and senior white house officials talk about key issues impacting the state, including immigration

recovered a large amount of illegal cannabis crystal meth and flavored tobacco products. the bust was part of the department's special investigation into smoke shops. the u.s. department of justice wants to seize property belonging to sherri papini for failing to pay restitution back in 2022. was sentenced to 18 months behind bars and ordered to pay about $309,000 in restitution after being convicted of faking her own kidnapping in 2016. but as of last week, she had only paid up about $600. now the justice department wants to add a 10% surcharge. what would make the total amount she owes more than $340,000. >> what east bay congressman mark this on is leading a communitywide effort now to protect air quality and the community's health. he hosted a town hall monday night in martinez to hear from residents about their recent safety incidents at local refineries. martinez refining company, for instance, had 21
