>> that breaking news at 11 o'clock emergency crews on the scene of a crash in san francisco's pacific heights neighborhood. look at the video here from the citizen app. you can see a car flipped over on its side. this is on jackson street near the house of prime rib san francisco. fire department says the driver of that car rolled over and crashed into these parked cars. the driver had to be taken to the hospital for their injuries. the cause is still being investigated. tonight, we've just learned from the san francisco fire department that one driver was injured. he overturned his car. he crashed into 3 to 4 other cars. the driver apparently was the only person that was injured here. but you can see it's a really brutal looking crash there. they were transported again to the hospital for their injuries. we don't know the extent of what they went through. reaching out to the san francisco police department get some more information on this. but really rough day on

the streets in san francisco. i'm good evening and thank you so much for joining us tonight for kron. 4 news at 11 dan thorn. this is the second serious crash that happened in the city today earlier in the west portal neighborhood. a driver crashed into a bus stop killing 2 people, including a child and that crash. it happened just after noon today. a car striking the bus shelter near the west portal muni station. 4 people were in the bus stop at the you lawyers, street and lenox way area when a car slammed into it. 2 people in that shelter dying at the scene. the other 2 had to be and the in the shelter in the vehicle's driver also had to be taken to the hospital walk. san francisco, pedestrian advocacy, nonprofit says a man and a toddler were the 2 that were killed and a woman and a baby were among the others that were injured, who also had to be taken to the hospital. >> it's a whole bunch ambulances hear sirens going

fire trucks. it was simply >> chaos here. a bunch of crowds. everything was nothing like this has ever happened. >> san francisco mayor london breed stopped by the area today to pay her respects and she posted on the social media site acts that today there was a tragic collision. westport 2 lives were lost, including a child. 3 more are in the hospital. i've just visited the scene. it's heartbreaking. we're going to share more information when we can. but now our focus is on the victims and their families and police are telling us tonight that they're still not sure what caused this crash. that area has reopened after being closed for several hours. these are now the 5th and 6th pedestrian deaths of the year. more than double what it was this time last year. san francisco streets could soon have speed cameras going in to monitor drivers. transit officials are looking to install them at 33 spots that

include school zones in areas that have seen sideshows. officials say that warning those notices will first be sent out to those who are speeding within the first 2 months of operations. and then after that fines will be sent to those that are caught speeding. transit officials say that this is not about collecting money. >> we would be very happy if this program earns no revenue. what we're trying to do is change behavior. >> the locations for the cameras will be further discussed at a meeting next tuesday for the sfmta take a look at this. a car slams into a city national bank in oakland during an apparent attempted burglary. this is the city national location on broadway and 12th in downtown oakland. police say 4 or 5 people were in the car when it drove into the bank just before 6 this morning, the car was used to get into the building. but once inside, police say the would-be burglars, able to gain access of anything of value. so they ran away and left their car

behind. no injuries are reported. police are still looking for the people who are responsible. and san jose, a man walking onto 80's hit by a drunk driver and sent to the hospital. this is the scene on 2.80, north of vine street around 11 o'clock last night. the chp says they're not sure why this person was walking on the interstate when they were hit head-on by a man driving a white bmw when the highway patrol arrived, the victim was unresponsive. they were taken to the hospital. the driver was arrested. no word on how that man is doing tonight. well, it's saint patrick's day weekend and chp says they're going to be out in full force and they're reminding everyone to celebrate safely. authorities are going to be on alert for impaired drivers. there's going to be dui checkpoints all throughout the state and here in the bay area. chp impaired driving task force typically gets deployed once a month, but it is already been deployed 5 times this year and there have been 140 dui arrests and saint

patrick's day can be brutal, according to the national highway traffic safety administration there were 50 deadly alcohol related crashes across the country in 2021. all right. let's get you a check. your 4 zone forecast tonight taking a live look at coit tower. a nice day out today, but we saw some clouds moving in just a little earlier, gayle ong. get a look at what we can expect a deal. >> yes, we have those low clouds usually in the evening and it will linger into the morning hours. so just keep that in mind. typical to our summer pattern. you can already see it moving in here. and this shot here of san francisco. but we warm. we're still warm, not as warm as yesterday, but we were in the 60's along the coast. little cooler with that sea breeze, but 70's elsewhere. so still about seasonable averages. we are staying relatively quiet for the time being with all that unsettled weather to our south and southern california, las vegas. even big bear has a winter storm warning until 08:00am tomorrow. no winter storm watches or warnings for the sierra. so it's a great weekend to travel there.

temperatures out the door were on the cooler note here, low 50's and mid 60's and hayward and san jose. 52 in livermore and we're cooling down just a bit with that sea breeze kicking in this evening. and right now the winds are relatively calm, a little breeze in fairfield and point rays. now we are in luck with the weather, though. have a nice day. time highs tomorrow as will still be in the upper 60's low 70's. so just enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. and we will have a similar weather on monday, but we have changes coming later on next week. would rain next weekend. we'll time that out for you in our future cast model coming up. back to you. all right, thanks. a lot of 3 people are dead after a shooting a standoff in pennsylvania. >> and tonight we're learning about the connection between the gunman and the victims news nation's drake. clark has the latest. >> police here in trenton say they want a peaceful surrender and that's exactly what they got with. the way it happened is what took many people by

surprise trenton police officer spotted andre gordon junior just casually walking down the street a few blocks from here. the officer approached gordon gordon confirmed his identity and he was taken into custody. meanwhile, police surrounded this home. you see here behind for more than 5 hours believing gordon was inside on saturday afternoon. now, police say gordon was here at one point, but he left here long before police officers arrived and set up that widespread parameter around this community this entire ordeal began saturday morning just after 8 o'clock when police say gordon stole a car here in trenton and drove across the state line to nearby falls township in bucks county, pennsylvania, where police say he broke into a home and shot and killed his 52 year-old mother and 13 year-old sister with an ar 15 assault rifle. police say there were at least 3 other people inside the home when the shooting happened. but they hit from gordon in a separate room effectively saving their own lives. police say he then drove to a second home in the same town and

murdered the 25 year-old mother of his 2 children and then beat her mother nearly to death using the same gun that he used to kill the victims. gordon, then carjacked a 44 year-old man at a nearby store and roll back to a home in trenton. there were people inside the home when they see gordon rushed in. they ran upstairs and police were able to get them out through a second-floor window for hours. local and state police as well as federal agents surrounded the home waiting for gordon to peacefully surrender. only to find out he was not inside the home. here's more from trenton's mayor explaining how the situation reached a conclusion. 2 blocks away. >> seems to be walking down, fit the description they approached surrendered peacefully. and the mayor says he's happy. the ordeal ended peacefully. but heartbroken knowing 3 lives were taken since lee. meanwhile, police were still here >> outside the seeing several hours after gordon was taken into custody. investigators

working inside and outside the home. >> the key question for investigators right now, they say gordon was homeless. so they're trying to find out how he was able to acquire that ar 15 assault rifle that he used to shoot and kill those 3 victims earlier in the day. meanwhile, he is in custody facing both murder and weapons charges. >> oakland police are investigating 2 seuarate overnight shootings. the first happened around 10, 30 last night on 100nd avenue. not far from international boulevard and esperanza elementary school. police say they arrived to find a man from san francisco who had been shot and died by the time paramedics got there. a man cuody for the shooting. but police did not share any details about what happened. the identities of both the victim and the man in custody are being withheld at this time as the investigation is ongoing. the second shooting happened just before one this morning on international on the corner of 8th avenue near

clinton park. police were called there because of the shot spotter, which is a gun detection software officers on scene say they did see evidence there was a shooting but did not find a victim. it was later discovered that the person who had been shot took themselves to the hospital for treatment. police are still investigating what happened. they should police arrest 2 men after exchanging gunfire and 7.80, last night. police say started as a chase around 09:20pm, after a car spotted in connection a robbery took off on the freeway. one of the suspect shot at officers before crashing the car at the bottom of the eastbound off-ramp and military west. one of those suspects was arrested right away. but the other took off on foot and continued shooting at officers who returned fire police eventually arrested the second suspect after they were found hiding in some bushes. investigation shut down 7.80, in both directions between columbus parkway rose drive and southampton road for several hours. no injuries were reported. happening right now. caltrans officials have shut down a nine-mile stretch

of 6.80, southbound through early monday morning. it's for a painting project that was meant to start in january but got delayed because of rain d between the 5, 86, 80 connector in pleasanton all the way through highway 84 in sunol. caltrans says getting it done in one weekend will help them finish the project much sooner. also happening this weekend in the east bay stretch of bart between richmond and the else del norte, a station will be closed through tomorrow for major track work. all redline services canceled in the area. free buses are available for commuters between the 2 stations. grant and facebook help facilitate and profit off of illegal drug sales online. >> and investigation is reportedly under way. we've got the details. still ahead tonight at 11.

this. a nerf gun caused the school to be put on lockdown in nevado the place farm. and there was called the sinaloa middle school on friday on reports of a student with a handgun on campus. the report came after classes were over for the day, but there were still people on the school's grounds. police found the teens involved in fountain with these nerf guns here. this was a part of a high school senior challenge. not really sure what they're doing to guns, though. it's unclear which school the involved students came from. but there at least 2 high schools in the battle. tonight, social media giant meta is under investigation. according to a new wall street journal report, authorities are investigating to see if the company helped facilitate or

even profited from the sale of illegal drugs on its platforms. that report claims that federal prosecutors and the fda are leading a new probe investigating for its role in facilitating the sale of illegal drugs and other substances throughout like facebook and instagram. in a statement the met a spokesperson said the sale of illicit drugs, its against our policies. and we work to find and remove this content from our services. but investigators are not so sure prosecutors in the fda yet to comment on the report. the met is president of global affairs push back against the ellegations friday highlighting the company's partnership with the alliance to prevent drug harm and their efforts to stop the sale of drugs on line. well, this is not the first time that we've seen a social media company come under fire for drug sales just 2 months ago. a california court ruled with the families of 11 children who overdosed on fentanyl, which they apparently bought on snapchat. now the platform is going to face those families in court after a

judge found the company could be liable for exposing minors to drug traffickers. all right. let's get you a check. your 4 zone forecast tonight taking a live look at san francisco international airport. maybe a nice night to catch a flight was beautiful day all across the bay area today. gayle ong joining us with a look at the forecast hello. yes, we lucked out with the weather during this holiday weekend. >> we have mostly clear skies out there, but we will be seeing the return of the fog and those low clouds just like we typically see during the summer months. you can see it here at the golden gate bridge. but the daytime highs will be another round of really gorgeous sunshine. you can see we're relatively quiet. all the unsettled weather is happening in southern california and las vegas. so here's the future cast model. you see those clouds here. it is rolling in overnight and then it will linger on into the morning. so visibility might be tough in places like san francisco hayward in livermore, the usual valleys and coastal areas that get that coastal drizzle and fog in the morning

and then we start to clear out. and then this is a monday morning. monday morning. overnight you'll see that same pattern. but then we'll see. mostly pin may be partly cloudy skies on monday. another day of sunshine monday, a sunday. and then mostly cloudy, mostly sunny skies on monday. and then we see a change in the weather pattern later on in the week. so this is fast forwarding to the long range models to thursday morning. that's when we're going to start to see that shift because rain is back in the forecast. this is friday. so far it looks to be beneficial rain. we'll keeping an eye on that forecast that temperatures were in the 50's and upper 40's wind speeds are calm. we will see a pop in the winds late afternoon and evening tomorrow. so just keep that in mind. you'll be waking up to the 40's and low 50's and once again, we'll be enjoying some nice upper 60's and 70's. so that's pretty much it for the rest of the weekend. nice weather on tap. and then just keep in mind for this change is coming up next weekend will be a di ferent story with the rain. here we

hosting their annual saint patrick's day. pancake breakfast, fire crews and people who live in the area sharing the most important meal of the day with a lot of green and a lot of music. all the proceeds from this event benefit the lisa and rock burn foundation, which is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of burn survivors and promoting burned prevention, education. the city of sausalito is celebrating a culinary excellence in just a few days hosting its first ever restaurant week, starting on monday. well, this morning crop or stephanie lin talked with the owner of some restaurants and the publisher of marine magazine to get a preview of what to expect. >> we have everything i'm from from mediterranean and 2 italian i mean, the list goes on and were very excited to see get some of the locally. you know, people come from all over the world to visit the area, but sometimes it gets a little forgotten for people

>> and now kron 4 sports. >> it was the night all of nation has been waiting for after missing the last 3 games with an injured ankle. steph curry made his return to the court tonight in las vegas for las vegas. los angeles against the lakers in prime time. and of course, just in time because the warriors, they lost 2 of 3 without steph. they knew tonight's game was a big win against the lakers. and lebron james, of course, and it would not only important for to get back on track, but to set a tone is their final drive into the playoffs continues. so the lakers they took the early lead. lebron was actually possess in the 1st quarter, hitting all 4 of his shots, including that 3 pointer right there from the wing and then staff. on the other hand, when scoreless lebron, he was on a mission, though, and the lakers. they were up 6 after the 1st quarter. but klay thompson, the other splash brother coming off the vents.
