these lines that we would need to cut carry anywhere from 2 to 20,000 riders per day. >> transit agency said hope the governor's revised may budget proposal would include transit operation funding. >> well, it didn't. senator wiener remains optimistic saying that 1 billion dollars a year can be reached without pulling more than 20%. >> from the state's general fund and time is running out to reach an agreement. that budget has to be printed and approved by june 15. that gives lawmakers and the governor about 2 and a solution. >> dan kerman kron, 4 news. >> said developments out of the central valley tonight. the body of a 4 year-old boy has been found the day after his sister's body was also recovered from the same fresno county river. authorities say the siblings entered the kings river with their mom yesterday around 2 o'clock. when the river's current carried the children away, neither had a

life vest or any kind of flotation device. the kings river is closed and has been closed for more than 2 months now because of dangerous conditions from the record snow melt. >> this is exactly why we tell people stay out of the water. you know, this, this really you just have to use common sense. you should not have children anywhere near this water today under any circumstance. >> the identities of the 2 young victims have not been officially released. flooding at yosemite is closed areas of the park. a park spokesperson says that. >> snow is melting really fast and the gushing water is pouring into the river. overflowing the banks. flooding is expected to the next few days and could be on and off for the next couple of months. housekeeping camp, lower pines, campground and north pines are closed until at least tomorrow night. the park is warning of water on the roads and cautions everybody to stay away from the waterways. 17 national park has received a 17 million

dollar grant to help fund about 50 projects throughout the park. that includes restoring multiple trails, which will add new signage to reduce injuries. there. funding research projects to understand why park salamander back and pacific fisher populations are decreasing also to help grow the junior ranger program. >> the 7 states that depend on the colorado river have reached agreement on cutting water use over the next 3 years. according to reports, representatives of the state's reached the agreement after months of negotiations, california, arizona and nevada are the 3 states that have committed to reducing water use by about 13% by the end of 2026. they'll get money from the feds in return. this comes after the federal government laid out options for preventing the colorado river's depleted reservoirs from reaching dangerously low levels and threatened mandatory cuts. if a deal was not able to be reached.

>> well, the time now to get a live look been told that that is out try to trez into the the clouds are sure you can see it just kind of gleaning. >> yeah, little rock down there, not crystal clear like it sometimes is a is he%e with a look at the forecast. yeah, guys. so we've got some changes ahead as the temperatures go to start to drop around the bay area. probably good thing. we've seen some warm weather now and a lot of melting of that snow pack over the weekemd and again today. in fact, we've got flood watches up and down much of the sierra nevada. you see the one area there with a flood warning that's in yosemite valley. that flood warning now has been extended until thursday at 09:00am across the spine of the sierra nevada, though there is still a ton of snow yet to melt. and so with the warmer temperatures now, this going to be a continuing problem. more flood watches extending across much of the sierra nevada watching for a flood warning now in the western port of the carson river. also parts of the walker ever and

the west walker's, we're going to see more the flood waters work through that area into nevada as well. all right. get it back out here. a little hazy out there tonight to some patchy, low clouds beginning there for the bay. right inside the coastline. you've got some cool weather for the fog is kind of camped out there much of the day tomorrow becoming mostly sunny after some patchy fog. i think cooler midweek here. and then i think slowly warming as we head in toward the weekend. pretty gusty winds out there right now. look at san francisco. we just had a gust this past hour of 37 miles per hour. so it's gusting that onshore breeze blowing outside right now. and overall, we've got high pressure in control, but i see that fog just along the coastline and eventually some things rolling over the top of that ridge. you see some lake clouds beginning in to the state and well, those are a sign a weak system that's kind of moving on in and that little trough is going to carve itself out for tomorrow. what that means for us is not a really huge change in the weather. just some cooler temperatures probably running a little bit below average as we head in toward

the middle of the week. thank you, lawrence. governor newsom is unable to run for another term in office. terming out and the list of people now looking to succeed him could soon be growing. yeah. in addition to the lieutenant governor, state attorney general rob bonta now says that he's seriously. >> considering a run for governor. our capitol correspondent wallace has details on what bonta had to say. when asked about this today? >> well, we're not even at election 2024 yet. but here in sacramento, a lot of attention is turning to the gubernatorial race in 2026. and here at the sheraton in downtown sacramento, attorney general rob bonta did not shy away from addressing that could be in store for his future. ronald reagan and arnold schwarzenegger, jerry brown and gavin newsom. those names make up just a handful of the 40 people who served as california's governor since the state's founding in 18, 50 looking ahead. questions in sacramento are turning to who will be california's 41st governor. one possibility,

california attorney general rob bonta over the weekend. he indicated he's interested in the job telling the san francisco chronicle he's quote, seriously considering a run during the next gubernatorial race in 2026. during a q and a today with the public policy institute of california for ppi see for short, he was asked to elaborate. is there anything you care to share with ppi c? >> before we go into the audience. >> well, thank you for that question. glad you asked that. while the question initially drew some laughter from bonta and the 100 plus people in attendance, he did ultimately offer a serious response. i am honored. grateful to say that quite a few folks have reached out to me because you need that to run for governor. >> i will make a decision at some but the point is not now with the law. school professor jessica levinson says while botta has not provided the concrete yes or no. >> his answer to the question are ready, gives political scientists subtle hints

suggesting he's very serious about a gubernatorial campaign. you can always tell when people are seriously looking at a run because they don't just say. >> i'm seriously looking at it. they also say people have talked to me. i've been asked about it and that's kind of the tip off that it very likely will happen. remarks come less than one month after california lieutenant governor eleni kounalakis formally launched her campaign and after former controller betty yee confirmed to inside california politics co-host nikki laurenzo. while she has not formally mounted a campaign, she very much intends to run. but as democratic political analyst and strategist and emerson points out, just having name recognition with the d next to your name is likely not enough in a race that could be one of the most expensive in state history. the question can you raise 20 million dollars? can you raised 30 million dollars? >> it's a tough haul. no question. but for the time being bonta says he's focused on his current job. now is the time to be the best age. i could be in fight for californians in every way i

the most since 2018. the higher numbers take places more and more people are back on cruz's after the pandemic. at least 1500 passengers and crew members have come down with some kind of stomach bug while on cruise ships that have docked in u.s. ports so far this year, the cdc says 3 of the outbreaks were norovirus. all were gastrointestinal nor virus is known to spread fast on cruise ships thousands of people share take orders and buffets an open dining areas where the virus can easily spread. it can also live on surfaces for months. no i'd still ahead. republican senator tim scott officially launches his presidential campaign where the gop presidential race.

>> you can have the conservatives without the baggage of trump. i think that's probably the message that he's going to emphasize as the field continues to take shape. florida governor ron desantis is also expected to jump into the race later this week in washington. i'm hannah brandt. >> as president biden embarks on his reelection campaign, the associated press conducted a poll to show his ratings on the economy, guns and immigration. just 33% of american adults say they approve of the president's handling of the economy. just 24% say the national economic conditions are in good shape. public approval of biden's handling of the economy remains low in a time of high inflation that difficult housing market and concerns about a potential u.s. government debt the fall. only 31% say they approve of his efforts on guns and immigration. overall, 40% say they approve of the way biden is doing his job. >> the governor of nebraska has signed a bill banning gender-affirming care for minors and abortion after 12

weeks of pregnancy, the abortion ban takes effect immediately while the ban on gender-affirming care takes effect in october. just last month, the bill to ban abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy failed by a single vote. the hybrid measure ties together. restrictions that republicans have pursued across the country. >> the man accused of killing 4 students at the university of idaho has entered a not guilty plea. bryan kohberger appeared in court this morning for his arraignment. but coe burger refused to speak when asked what he was pleading. so the judge entered a not guilty plea for him. he's charged with 4 counts of first-degree murder. one count of burglary and last november, stabbing deaths. kohberger was a student at nearby washington state university. but prosecutors have not said why they think he killed the idaho students. his trial is set to start october second and he could face the death penalty. >> jeffrey epstein reportedly

threatened to expose an affair between bill gates and a russian woman. according to the wall street journal apps teen used that information to try to convince gates to take part in a multi-billion dollar charitable fund. gates reportedly met the woman in 2010 and epstein threatened to leak details of the affair in 2017. now the fun was never created in gates. previously said he did not have any financial dealings with epstein and believed it was a quote, mistake to have ever mct him. >> house speaker from california kevin mccarthy says he believes the fbi will now release the document reportedly alleging that president biden took bribes from foreign countries when he was vice president. this comes after the fbi met with the house oversight staff today to discuss the gop led investigation into the whistleblower allegation. the house oversight committee had originally given the fbi until may 10th to hand over the document. the 2 sides are now negotiating. what can be

going to be cooling us down here the next couple of days around the bay area today. these temperatures running well above the average outside is high pressure really kind of a built-in today, strengthen a bit, said those temperatures well in the 80's in many spots away from the coastline, the interior valleys, air quality, they'll have suffered a bit. you can see a lot of yellow out there right now. a little hazy inside the bay this evening through parts of the north bay, the east bay and the south bay. as we've got high pressure strengthened today overhead. that was just an out. but tomorrow return of the stronger sea breeze. and we're going to see good air quality all around from the north bay, the coast, all the way east bay and the south bay again. but these numbers today, how about that? 80 degrees in santa rosa. 86 above the average in concord. 86 10 degrees above normal. in livermore, 81 in san jose, 70 degrees in oakland and 66 degrees. very comfortable even in san francisco. but that sea breeze starting to blow out there. we've got a couple of patches of fog along the coastline now more than all the way overnight tonight that you watch the models pick up on a start to fill in a little bit overnight. fairly patchy

out there, then start to slide in a looks like a weak frontal system tries to push through overnight tonight with a couple high clouds by tomorrow morning. watch what happens in the afternoon. >> healthy sea breeze kicks in some cooler air aloft. and all of a sudden we start to mix out a lot of low clouds and the fog. so what that means for you as looks like a nice day tomorrow but will be breezy along the coastline. it will be a bit cooler, too 15 60's in san francisco about 57 im 70 to 60 degrees in half moon bay. 61 degrees. nice day in burlingame. a little bit below the average 64 degrees in san carlos. 71 and warm as you make your way in about do lot of 60's 70's in the south bay by tomorrow afternoon, some mid 60's instead of those mid 80's in spots. well inland tomorrow. so the numbers are going to be warm but much cooler than what we had today. if you want the real warm stuffy toward the central valley to start to see some 80's popping up there. but otherwise the numbers are going to cool off specially approaching the coastline. those numbers in the 50's and the 60's with that sea breeze out there. so looks like over the next couple days. here we go. we're going to wind up this weekend around it looks

video of. >> it's cool. a colorful art installation that just went up in timber on this. is that the south of know, park along the old rail trail right by the ocean where the bay it's called collaborative nature lightweight fabric attached to fiberglass poles, replace there to pick up the sea breezes and pick up the life. well spectacular. the installation is the work of photographer and former marine resident. >> thomas jackson, it's all part of bronze plan to bring in visitors from across the bay with public art projects just like that's that's i guess you can run it. somebody's neck early going that, well, the city is inviting everybody to give their suggestions about what other kinds of public art the town should feature beautiful.
