got some beautiful weather to look forward to the next several days. >> and this is before a big change of pace into the end of next week. that will bring the return of rain falls. that means you have to savor this weekend. a whole lot extra now. right now, the east bay hills camera showing you the clear skies. we have not looking at a foggy start, but another cold start. we're in the 30's for areas like san mateo, redwood city, down through mountain view, fremont on inland over to livermore and dublin and even half moon bay at the coast. also up in the north bay petaluma and santa rosa down at 35 degrees right now. sonoma all the way down to 33 degrees. so definitely a chilly start. not quite cold enough for frost advisories and freeze warnings, though, breezy out of the delta as well as at the coastline. most of us are on the calmer side of things this morning. we do see some offshore showers resulting in just a few sprinkles right along the coastline in sonoma county on up into mendocino county. these are going to skirt right past the bay area, though. so we're not really looking at the potential in the bay area today. that

system just traveling too far to the west for us. so what we've got is increasingly clear skies by the afternoon, mostly sunny, nice conditions. daytime highs pushing upwards into the low 60's. i'm talking more about this weekend's forecast and next week's rainfall. all still to come. rain, right, john, thank you that. let's check on those bridges into the city. we go about 7 minutes maze. >> to that fremont street exit about the san mateo bridge for 81 12 minutes there traveling across towards the peninsula. if you're hopping on the richmond center fell bridge is going to take about 8 minutes and the golden gate bridge. 37 to the tolls about 19 minutes on this friday morning. i have a we have a story we're following because health officials in san francisco say a street drug popular on the east coast making its way to the city four's. dan kerman reports the drug is actually frequently mixed in with fentanyl. in san francisco. fentanyl is the primary driver for drug overdoses.

>> and now that drugs circulating the streets may be laced with something equally dangerous. our office of the chief medical examiner has identified for over students who died between the middle of december and the middle of january of 2023. >> for over students whose toxicology tested positive for a drug called silence. >> known by its street name trank xylazine is not an opioid but a veterinary tranquilizer that's often mixed with fentanyl without users knowing it doesn't cause the same degree of euphoria that sentinel might. but it's often times added to a sample of tunnel to extend its son has a very short duration of action. so people may have added, as i was saying to the sample to extend its effects up until recently, trank hasn't been seen in san francisco, but that's not the case on the east coast. i spent 6 years in the philadelphia department of public health before moving to san francisco and we now have a drug supply and philadelphia

were taken to the emergency room but will be ok, the cause of that fire still under investigation. police releasing this sketch get a good look at the suspect. this is the person that a woman says sexually assaulted her. and san mateo county. she told police it happened on the stairwell leading to gray will coast a beach. police say the suspect was wearing a dark navy blue spanned next be sure baggy jogger pants. no socks, no shoes. anyone with any information is asked to call the san mateo sheriff's office. well in the east bay, dublin, police say a theft of about $1500 in merchandise from the ulta beauty store. let them to uncover an organized crime ring happened in oakland with the investigators found more than 1 million dollars in stolen merge and also an ar 15 ghost gun. no details on the suspects have been released as of this morning. creek police have arrested an 18 year-old man in connection with a threat made at las lomas high

school. the campus was put on lockdown last friday after staffers got a phone call from someone threatening to shoot at that school. police said everyone shelter in place while they searched the campus. no weapons were found an 18 year. all the money costello from san joaquin county was arrested. he's being held at the martinez jail. well, governor newsom and his wife, jennifer siebel newsom teamed up to highlight california's investments in education toward and preparatory high school in sacramento. they met with students and staffers there and they say they are pleased with the progress they've seen following the pandemic periods. when most schools closed, in-person instruction. the governor also pointed out, governor, that they're more than 100 billion dollars set aside in the state budget just for education. one of the features of the campus, a 9 hour school day. >> getting 9 hours of enrichment. i mean, how many decades was that debate in the

state of california? and we're doing. >> well, the governor says they're going to have more details in may on how much of the state budget we'll go to education. it's called, but it's getting people in the east bay. it's a little bit worried because teenagers are hunting shooting each other with nerve style guns. some cases the shooting game is apparently happening at a school rovers. dan thorn reports from monta vista high school in danville. >> it's called assassins senate's where seniors are broken up into teams and the shooting each other with nerf darts and and whoever gets the most points wins. some parents tell us it's just for fun, but others say it sends the wrong message considering the country's rash in mass shootings and they're hoping the school district will help put an end to it. it's these darts and nerf that are being used for a shooting game among seniors at monte vista high school in danville. >> the game is called

assassins and the team with the most kills and fewest casualties ways. i just don't see anything positive coming out of this at all. blackhawk president andrea parnas says students should not be playing this game because it promotes violence. the blackhawk police chief responded to her concern by sending out a notice in saying there have been just to non-criminal calls involving players. part nasa is worried the police and the school are making light of what she considers a serious issue with all of the school shootings that we're hearing about and actually becoming numb to. i don't see. what good can come from this. jesse stock is a senior at monte vista and he's a player in the assassins game. she says it's not supposed to be played at the school, but some kids might be breaking the rules. stock also money prize. each group has to pay 20 bucks. each person who enters the game. >> $20 and our whole senior class is playing a san ramon

valley unified school. district spokesperson says they are not aware of the shooting game being played on campus. they do not condone this game and tell kron 4 we do not allow weapons on our campuses regardless if they are real or not. toys, nerf guns and lookalikes are not permitted in our monte vista parents who did not want to show their face on camera, says the game is just harmless fun. no concern for me and my kids. we talked about it. they think it's fun. doesn't scare anyone. but for others, it's very scary to be doing a game. >> called assassins and to be racking up kills. to me is just appalling. >> the school district says they will be monitoring for any bad behavior that may result from this game. but for now, there have been no reports of any issues at monte vista high school reporting in danville, dan thorn kron. 4 news. >> and el dorado county mom says her daughter has been suffering from years of racial abuse in school. school officials have actually turned

against el dorado union high school district and 40 minutes traitors essentially saying they were negligent and acted with deliberate indifference and failing to protect the student from being attacked and beaten despite various mornings, the attack she alleges happened on the eldorado high school campus by students. the complaint says the school administrators downplayed the threat and behavior. they told >> that she should run scream for help or find an adult if she sees those girls. that's not a school environment. she doesn't need to be going to school feeling like she has to run and scream for help. she also said the school did not address the use of racial slurs. >> alleging a school resource officer told her daughter it's free speech and that unless it's directed in a threat. and i'll kill you, then there's nothing is going to do about it. but she could be called the n word all day long. >> well, classes remain suspended through the weekend and michigan state university after a gunman shot and killed 3 students and injured 5 others on monday.

after you get off of work. and it's nice that these days are getting a little longer to see could actually see the sunshine the for a little bit. once you get home golden gate bridge looks good. we're off to a mostly cloudy start right now. we do have some passing clouds across the bay area as part of a storm system that's just clipping right past the bay area. have a couple of sprinkles out there. and northepn sonoma county up into been the county. aside from that, though, this is not doing much for us. aside from that increasing cloud cover you yesterday are still seeing this morning today, though, gradually clears up more and more and really by the afternoon, we're looking at mostly sunny skies all across the bay. so really pleasant finish to the day. and if you like that saturday and sunday are going to be even more enjoyable. lots of sunshine, most mild weather of the forecast really enjoy saturday and sunday because next week is changing for the cooler and the weather. so that means that this weekend as want to take full advantage of before winter returns 50's to 60's for san francisco and at the

coastline today. most of us today, though, are in the 60's for your daytime highs. this making it a little bit more mild than yesterday was palo alto and mountain view at 62 san jose. our warmest spot today at 64 degrees. well, free might union city and hayward at 62 degrees. same for you in oakland and berkeley. north bay temperatures pretty much the same but the napa, 62 santa rosa among our warmer spots at 63 tomorrow and sunday will be our very warmest of the forecast along with monday. really, really pleasant days ahead of us. after that, we will reverse course and cool down quickly. by next thursday, we're barely making the 50's chances of showers increasing late next week and likely to take us through that. following weekend and the following week after that siya get the picture, enjoy the sunshine while we've got it rain. all right, john, i'm going to enjoy that sunshine. as you said, 2. >> all right. if you're traveling this morning, a 7 minute ride into the city live are keeping a close eye on our bridges. to 101 san mateo bridge about 12 minutes. our
