>> hey, dan hit it. well, a little chilly, but hey, that's a good football weather, right? you know, philly does have a reputation for being, shall we say, less than welcoming to opposing fans. but plenty of 40 niner fans made the trip and put on the red and gold and we even found some local philly, 40 niner fans who just wanted to save space to wear their true colors. the team put on what they called a 40 niner fan invasion. it was a restaurant and bar in south philly called xfinity live just across the street from the stadium. not only did they enjoy some time with fellow fans, but there's a dj. they're playing bay area, hip-hop and songs like california love. there was a photo booth and plenty of forty-niners swagg to go around. we spoke to a lot of fans from the bay area and other parts of california made the trip. also, like i said, some philly locals and they'll just said they wanted to show their support for their favorite squat. >> i got support the all ready to first time coming out to a

not that's not been taken from an east coast are not bad at all right, kate, thanks a lot. well, coming up in sports, we'll have much more on the forty-niners nfc championship game happening tomorrow, including. >> some good news and some potentially bad news coming out of their backfield. >> we do want to get your check of our 4 zone forecast talking about how cold it is out there. taking a live look at the embarcadero tonight. and the bay bridge lights. everything looking beautiful in this twilight yes, i love it no fog either. we saw a lot of fog earlier today. however, a yeah. it was definitely a cool start this morning. that cooling trend going to continue. not just for the 2nd half of the weekend, but even into early this upcoming week. so let's take a look at golden gate bridge and we're tracking smooth sailing, clear. but cooler temperatures out there right now. pacific already at 49 degrees as timber on fairfax at 48 degrees with widespread low 50's for most of the bay area and gusty winds will be in the forecast by your sunday afternoon.

mainly for those of you in the north bay mountains and s% valleys. that's going to continue through monday. 1 o'clock in the afternoon. we're tracking calm wind speeds out there right now. but we're expecting gusts 50 miles per hour or less. so howling winds for those of you in the north bay. and we're going to see not only that, but chilly overnight lows starting tomorrow night sunday at midnight through monday morning. we could see subfreezing temperatures and yes, that's actual rain that could make its way into parts of the bay area. find out when and where they track this week. storm hour by hour, my full forecast in just a few minutes. back to you, dan and well. >> reset. thank you. new at 6 police in the south bay are investigating a pair of armed robberies at 2 jewelry stores. the first was in milpitas. it happened yesterday afternoon around 2.40, at the milpitas small shopping center on landis avenue. police say one of the suspects shot a gun toward an employee in the store. no one was hit police say suspects then ran off in a

black four-door sedan and a burgundy suv. anyone with information on this is us to contact milpitas police and mountain view. police say they're investigating after 3 armed robbers took over a jewelry store on layton avenue. this happened yesterday morning just before noon. >> investigators say the robbers took money from the cash register and also stole personal belongings from employees and customers. the robbers then left the store and drove off a witness told police one of the robbers shot at them and a bullet hit their car. no injuries were reported, though. those suspects are still on the loose tonight. >> developing news tonight, the memphis police department's now infamous scorpion squad has been disbanded 2 of its members were arrested in connection to tyree nichols death. the team was originally tasked with writing the memphis streets of gang activity in violent crime. but in response to nichols death and the thousands of demonstrators calling for sweeping police reform. the department has dismantled the squad. the

police department says the officers assigned to the unit agree with the decision saying the, quote, heinous actions of a few has cast a cloud of dishonor on the unit. >> 3 people are dead and 4 others are injured in an overnight shooting in los angeles. this is now the latest mass shooting in california just this month. it happened in the beverly crest neighborhood. him at a short term rental home early this morning. police say 3 people were killed inside a car. 2 of them surviving are in critical condition. 2 others also recovering in the hospital tonight. investigators are right now trying to figure out what kind of gathering was happening at the multimillion-dollar rental. no word on any suspects at this time. >> coming up, it's going to get cold in the coming days. how one south bay city plans to keep its residents war. >> and forty-niners fans picking up some gear while meeting a super bowl champion today along the peninsula. today after the videos that were released yesterday showing the brutal beating of tyree nichols by 5 memphis police officers. nichols later dying from his injuries. the now former officers all face second-degree murder charges. reporter alex caprariello has the very latest in the investigation. >> but we do want to warn you the video you're about to see is graphic and disturbing. >> thousands of americans are once again protesting police brutality following the video released of the beating of 29 year-old tyree nichols 3 weeks ago in memphis. the close a body cam footage paired with bird's-eye video from an overhead street poll reveals the graphic and intense assault. 5 now fired. memphis police officers laid down on the 29 year-old. the footage begins midway through the january 7th traffic stop with guns drawn. you can see police officers pulled nichols out of his car and wrestled him to the ground. one officer would later claim he tried to pull

nichols over after witnessing him driving into oncoming traffic after a brief struggle, an officer attempts to tase him, but he gets away on foot. nichols is later discovered in a nearby neighborhood overhead cameras capture several officers using their fists, boots and batons to strike nichols across the head and body by at least 2 officers deployed pepper spray. you can hear nichols called for his mother as the beating continued for another 3 and a half minutes until other help arrives. >> saw the police not respect that man as a human to have that much power as a police and utilize it in that is a polling. >> following the video release, the reaction across the country was swift from coast to coast. protesters called for sweeping police reform. most demonstrations remained peaceful, although several people were handcuffed in new york city after

smashing in a car's windshield. this is something we see continuously. it's something new to us, but it's still going on. and for them to do something. and the fallout continues in memphis. the shelby county sheriff, after watching the tape says he recognized 2 of his deputies on scene. they've now been relieved of their duties while an internal investigation examines their role in the arrest and to memphis fire department emt's who provided the initial medical care to nickels are now under investigation. despite staff arriving immediately with medical equipment, it took more than 20 minutes for nichols to receive medical attention. >> that was alex caprariello reporting for us tonight. as for the 5 police officers who face charges of second degree murder, they have all now been released on bond. all right. we want to get you a check your 4 zone forecast tonight. lots of traffic heading into san don't know what's going on is if they were trying to see karl, they missed him by several hours. call the fog

with intense earlier today present i know and very widespread to. let's take a look at radar for because as you can see, he's nowhere in sight. we're tracking. >> very dry, clear conditions out there right now. but that's going to change for the 2nd half of the weekend, especially for areas in the southern part of the bay area. by around mid morning, we could actually see some light scattered showers, mainly just south of downtown san francisco into san mateo and even san jose parts of concord as well as parts of not also the north bay valleys could see some light scattered hit or miss showers continuing through your sunday afternoon, but then drier, clear conditions and a colder air mass will be in place after this week's storm exits. so not going to be a big drought buster. just tracking about a 10th of an inch of rain or less highest amounts for those of you in san jose and mountain view. but we are tracking from now. until then cooler temperatures that cooling trend going to continue through the 2nd half of the weekend. temperatures

out there right now, widespread mid to upper 40's along the coast with low 50's as you make your way inland. dublin in livermore in the east bay starting to cool down into the upper 40's. no frost or freeze warnings in effect for tonight. but that's all going to change. one sunday storm sweeps through the bay area by sunday night, starting at midnight through monday morning. we're not only going to be under freeze warnings, but frost advisories as well. we're tracking subfreezing temperatures were coldest inland valleys could dip below 32 degrees and high temperatures tomorrow we're going to cool down into the low to mid 50's. so about 5 degrees below average temperatures, though, not really going to change all that much cooler air mass in place tuesday morning as well. so expect those frost advisories and freeze warnings to stay in effect. but then we will see a slight chance of showers on friday with partly cloudy skies returning in the 60's by next saturday, 2 chances or rain and this coming week. that's not that little storms will take it there you go. >> all right. well, get ready

for the cold temperatures cause frigid temperatures are expected to dip into the low to mid 30's. the national weather service issuing a freeze watch for many inland areas that prompted santa clara county to open warming centers for anyone who needs them starting tomorrow. kron four's gayle ong has more. >> after days of warm temperatures, cold weather is expected to arrive sunday night and continue into wednesday morning. the national weather service is anticipating frost and freezing temperatures. santa clara county libraries will be available as warming centers to help residents cope with the cold. the county will have several locations open during the day where people can go to warm up, including libraries in cupertino, gilroy, los gatos, no peaches and morgan hill business hours very thankfully, i have. >> for heat so. i'm good. thank you, josh. raja have been enjoying the dry weather and is now preparing for the coal. i our you know, it's who's not right now, but normally when it's cold, the chilly temperatures can make for hazardous conditions for
