reportedly when overnight and continued early this morning. a deal is closer than ever to either being reached or not. word got out quickly, though, causing twitter stock to climb is climbing as we speak. twitter's board met yesterday to discuss musk's 43 billion dollar bid to buy the company. bloomberg reported this morning that twitter is in the final stretch of negotiations. they say twitter is working out the terms of the transaction for its shareholders. last week musk said he secured funding for his unsolicited bid to buy the company for $54.20 per share. musk is an average twitter user and believes the company should be transformed into a private company so it can become a forum for free speech on twitter. now. rest in peace, twitter and elon musk are trending topics. people are sounding off about musk potentially owning it. but we're soft isn't seen dead at all. just checked twitter stock is up over 4% selling at

will tran has been to many of them. he says this is definitely the biggest in the noisy as well. what's going on? >> there are thousands of nurses and you might be able to hear and see them. obviously right behind me. the horns are blaring. they're getting full support from fellow staffers as well as the community. you can see them all lined up here. this is just a sliver. it is stretching down the block. several blocks were talking 5,000 nurses who instead of being at work. >> instead, they are on the picket lines. they went on strike officially at 6.45. in the morning. they gave stanford ample time. they told them for a couple of weeks now, if we do not reach a deal by today, we will go on strike. stanford has called in replacement nurses. but if you have an appointment today, call ahead because it is a tall order to get 5,000 nurses in sight, the facility and all through the system to take care of all of the patients.

and that is why your schedule could be pushed back. it canceled altogether. got a chance to talk to a lot of nurses. they say this is not about them. it's about the patients. >> we're trying to make things better for patients. that is why we're out here today. >> why are the patients not getting what you think they should be getting? >> because we don't have enough staff. we have staff leaving daily and we need them to be here. we need to incentivize people to come here and to stay here. >> stanford did respond to us. they say a union work stoppage is a serious event that is disruptive to our patients. families and colleagues. the impact can be deep, long-lasting and costly. we have worked diligently to reach a mutually acceptable contract agreement and have made meaningful progress at the bargaining table so far, obviously not meaningful enough as they are on strike. it looks like they are

prepared to go on strike for as long as it takes for them to reach a new deal. here's some good news for all. 3 parties were talking stanford, the nurses as well as the patients. we do know that both sides will be back at the bargaining table. >> tomorrow, so hopefully that will reach a deal. if not. we'll be right back out here tomorrow. and for the days ahead. all right. thanks a lot. we'll >> 9, 0, 6 on the clock. and it was a busy weekend for san francisco police. they ended up and having to investigate multiple shootings. the first one involved an argument that broke out at a memorial service. police say one man was shot. there is right near harriet and howard streets and then another man was shot the tenderloin. and this is video that scene investigators say the victim and the shooter ended up fighting each other near the hnl mark on geary street. they think maybe it was gang-related. they're still looking into it. the conditions of both victims still unknown. we're trying to track that down for you. meanwhile, police on the peninsula are investigating 2 separate, but very similar

robberies. the first one happened just after midnight sunday in redwood city where police say the victim was coming home and he was targeted in his garage. the next one happened about a half hour later in foster city. and in that case, the gunman to also rob this person in their garages. he was parking his car. fact, the robber fired a shot into the driver's side window after demanding the victim's wallet. police say the person wanted in both of these robberies is described as a woman driving an suv. >> it's 9, 0, 7, in the east bay. people who live in danville, some of them found antisemitic flyers in their driveways in the danville police went to facebook to say they are aware of the flyers that were less yesterday morning and that they are investigating who put them there. police say that the leaflets go against the town's values and they do not condone violence or any hate in any form and that they're committed to inclusivity 9, 0, 7, is a time right now. and this saturday is a chance for to get rid of your unwanted pills and medications. because you don't want to just throw

congressman michael mccall says the surge of migrants in the midst of a pandemic puts a border patrol an the border communities at risk. this is the absolute worst i've ever seen. but massachusetts democratic senator elizabeth warren said on cnn state of the union that she supports getting rid of title. 42 because she says it's not consistent with american values. the biden administration is putting plans in place to deal with people who are asking >> amnesty and humanitarian relief at the border. the biden administration says they're working on a plan to ramp up security at the southern border. that includes relocating agents and adding more processing centers, staffed with medical officials. >> today president biden will meet with members of the congressional hispanic caucus about his immigration plan. also happening today, a group of republican lawmakers are scheduled to take a trip down to the southern border where meet with local leaders in eagle pass for now in

fremont street exit san mateo bridge. let's check on conditions. there will first stop of the richmond. sandra fell bridge but a 15 minute drive tolls to one o one. we started off the morning with a hot spot there. thankfully, conditions are clear traffic moving along nicely while 1, one, 85 into the low park around. 34 minutes for you and crockett down towards the maze. about 20 minutes. tara, james, back to you. thanks lot. rana. >> so to the breaking news this morning, police in the east bay in pittsburgh are looking right now for a shooter who opened fire on a man inside of a truck. see the bullet holes on the side of his truck. and kron 4 has been following this all morning long. sarah stinson has the latest. sara. >> that's right. talking with police. they say a man was shot multiple times while he was sitting in a truck and he said in the hospital recovering. but police are still looking for the shooter right now. take a look at the map on your screen. you can see where the shooting happened on kirker pass road in pittsburgh at castle would drive that's across from the castle kids center and woodland hills apartments.

video shows 2 bullet holes in the driver's side door of the truck with the window shattered. this happened around 11, 30 last night. it appeared to be a road rage incident at the scene. but police said they're still investigating. they don't know exactly what unfolded. a sergeant told me that they do know is a man was sitting in his truck when the shooter. arrived and shot at him. multiple times. no one is in custody right now and that at least at last check what they told us. but they're going to be talking to the victim in the hospital to try and figure out what happened. did the 2 know each other was his random was there in fact, a road rage incident before the shooting. a lot of questions remain. i did leave a voicemail with the investigations department hoping to hear back soon. hopefully they have some kind of idea of who the shooter is because at last check, they're still trying to identify that person for now. i'm sarah stinson reporting live in the newsroom. back to you. >> thank you very much, sara.

time now is 9.32. and san francisco supervisor matt haney is headed to sacramento as the assembly member elect for district 17 after the special election last week, the state assembly seat was held before by david chiu. he is now city attorney as a district. 6 supervisor haney represented the tenderloin and he's going to continue. he says, to serve that area because he says that they're struggling with homelessness. an illegal drug use. in fact, he says it goes beyond that neighborhood. he says that's why he ran for the state assembly. we need state leadership, state resources, every city and county doing their part on this. you can't expect to solve homelessness or fentanyl epidemic in one neighborhood as hard as we're trying. >> so we need to have consequences for affective consequences for people were selling fentanyl. we need to stop the flow of these drugs into our state and into our communities. and he says the state has the money, a sizable budget surplus next year. but 23 billion dollars more than previously expected. haney thanks. the money should be put towards homelessness and mental health services. make

currently is the division commander overseeing the santa rita jail in dublin. sanchez says her candidacy will focus on rehabilitation and jobs training for incarcerated people, racial justice in law enforcement holding the sheriff's office accountable and connecting with people. >> number one priority is to be president and accessible to our community members. that's what's needed to build trust and for them to be able to give me some critiques on how the sheriff's office is providing service. >> the primary election is on june 7th and we'll see where the candidates he goes. well, there is some relief available now for restaurants that have been hard-hit by the pandemic restaurant owners across the state can now apply for money from the california restaurant foundation. the foundation says it will be offering $3,000 grants to small restaurants to help them get by. they can use that money for everything from equipment upgrades to employee bonuses. applications are being accepted until april 30th. but you have to submit one online. so to find the link, just head

to website at kron 4 dot com. >> it's 9.35. and airline officials say they're trying to work with passengers who are afraid to fly. now that face masks are not required. remember, a federal judge in florida struck down the nationwide mandate for airports and airplanes and some airlines like united americans say they will offer options, including refunds in some cases for passengers who are worried about flying. doctor john swartzberg, professor of infectious disease at uc berkeley. he thinks that getting rid of them and it was the wrong call. he says it's now going to be up to each person to weigh the risk of going maskless. >> if you're elderly, if you've got. conditions that would really predispose you to have outcome like being immunocompromised or even things like diabetes or obesity or chronic lung or heart disease. those are some examples of people who, you know, need to really weigh the pros and cons more.
