wait a lot of time and that the time that this ben here they're not making money. i learned that they plan to go on strike for the next seven days. they do not plan to pick up any cargo at the port of oakland. some of the truck drivers were caught off guard and many of the protesters stood in front of the truck drivers and that would not allow them to step in. the police is now patrolling the area. i had a chance to talk to one of the truck drivers of this would have to say. >> i cannot stand to strike a day. i cannot do that. and it all depends on how long this continues. it may be a week. i cannot even stand a week. >> you can see right off hymie if the their standing in front of these drivers.

he stated that they had nothing to do with this and that they're free to comment. he stated that he was afraid for his safety and he will like the police to come out and help. >> they're standing in front of this terminal but all the terminals of the port of oakland. >> ac transit workers have voted to reject a tentative contract agreement reached with management last week. union officials say members of the amalgamated transit union local 192, which represents nearly 1,800 bus drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, clerical and other workers, voted saturday 576 "against" to 257 "for" the proposed contract. the tentative agreement included a 9.5 percent raise and increased employee contributions to medical benefits, as well as improved health and safety provisions. the union's negotiating committee will meet soon to review next steps. >>authorities have wrapped up

their investigation into the cause of the limousine fire that killed five women on the san mateo bridge. a full report is expected to be released today. in the limo at the time of the fire was a group of friends heading out to celebrate a recent wedding. the newly married bride was one of the victims who died. this is video from our helicopter partnership with a-b-c seven news. four passengers did managed to escape along with the limo driver. at 9:30 this morning we'll hear from state senator jerry hill. he will discuss his "limo safety bill" and the need for limousine safety >> we have an update now on murder of sandra coke. a criminal and sex offender who was at the last person to see her alive says of the two of them planned to get married. her family is stating that he is a line.

coke samoset's said the two of them briefly dated 20 years ago, but he was ordered by the court to stay away from our. coker disappeared august 4th. her body was found later near a vacaville. >> the san francisco fire chief has now banned helmet cameras after footage of the asiana airline crash was posted online by a local newspaper. the video was captured by battalion chief mark johnson's helmet camera and was published in the san francisco chronicle. that led to questions about whether the department is liable in the death of a 16- year-old girl who survived the crash but was run over by a fire truck. at the time, the victim was covered with fire-retardant foam. police, the coroner and the national transportation safety board are reviewing the footage. chief hayes-white said her 2009 ban on video cameras in facilities was meant to include fire scenes. critics say that restricting the use of helmet cameras shows a lack of transparency by the fire department. >>

>> welcome back. we're keeping our eyes on wall street. the dow is now down eight points. it was at 550 drop from where we were earlier this month. the s&p 500 is up by two. this is a indication that the markets are beginning to grow. a lot of investors are looking for some rocky weeks ahead.

>> banks, bond insurers, employee pension systems and others who believe they are owed money by detroit, are up against the clock to legally voice opposition to the largest bankruptcy filing in u-s history. a federal judge set today august 19th, as the eligibility objection deadline in the bankruptcy petition by detroit's state- appointed emergency manager kevin orr. it's one step in a process that could take months or years to complete if detroit is approved for bankruptcy protection. the city has until september sixth to file its responses. >> washington already has the nation's highest state minimum wage at $9.19 an hour. now, there's a push in seattle, at least, to make it $15. so far, the city council and mayoral candidates have said they'd consider it in the famously liberal city. but not anytime soon according to one official. supporters say the move would be good for the economy, by putting more money in the hands of

bridge, has no problems underneath the fog. >> egypt this morning. judiciary officials say ousted president hosni mubarak could be freed this week. that there are no grounds to hold him now. the news comes as violence continues to escalate in egypt. today, islamic militants ambushed two mini-buses carrying off-duty policemen in egypt's sinai peninsula, killing 25 of them. the killings came a day after 36 detainees were killed in clashes with egyptian security forces. today, diplomats from the european union are meeting in brussels to discuss how the e-u will respond to the violence. and e-u foreign ministers will meet later >> in the u-s, members of congress are split over whether the u-s should cut off military aid to egypt. democrats are generally supportive of president obama's approach. but some republicans, including senator john mccain, are calling for the elimination of military aid.

other republicans, such as congressman peter king, are more hesitant. >> a volcano in japan is erupting and sending a thick cloud of ash over a nearby city. this is mount sakurajima, it started blowing its top yesterday. you can see it spewing thick ash into the sky. however residents are used to this sort of thing. this is one of the most active volcanos in japan. its reported that this is the 500th eruption so far this year, and the biggest since 2000. >> an elderly woman is lucky to be alive after a pick up slammed into her petaluma home. it happened early yesterday morning on cleveland avenue near bodega avenue. emergency crews found a full-size pickup truck had smashed through the front door and destroyed the living room.

the woman was in bed in a back bedroom listening to music at the time of the crash. she was was shaken but not injured. the driver of the truck took off from the crash. c-h-p says they still have no suspects at this time. >> the time 7:20 a.m.. police in southern california pay $20,000 to a man who's pickup they riddled with bullets during the manhunt for christopher dorner earlier this year. david perdue was on his way to go surfing in february when he was stopped by officers searching for dorner. perdue filed a lawsuit against torrance police, saying officers rammed his pickup and opened fire without justification. his lawyers claim he suffered head and spinal >> the campaign to oust san diego's embattled mayor is underway. volunteers armed with clipboards and petitions fanned out through the city, hoping to collect thousands of signatures needed to authorize an election that could recall mayor bob filner. the mayor is facing more

than a dozen sexual harassment allegations. the 70-year-old former congressman has resisted numerous calls to resign. filner is set to return to work this week after undergoing behavior therapy. >> the first civil lawsuit filed against penn state university over the child sex abuse scandal involving jerry sandusky has settled. that's according to attorney tom kline, who represents the individual known as sandusky victim number five. kline did not discuss further details about the settlement. kline says his client is the first to settle with the university in the case. a number of sandusky's victims still have pending suits against penn state over the scandal. >> police in britain say they're looking into newly received information about the deaths of princess diana and dodi fayed. this is surveillance video of the couple back in 1997. the pair were killed in a car crash in paris. scotland yard isn't providing details about the

from santa cruz there was an accident and a vehicle fire. the fire has been extinguished but it is still back in upper right. >> we have an update on the murder of sandra coke. a career criminal and sex offender who was the last person to see her alive says that the two plan to get married. coke's a family, though, say that the 56 year-old randy alana is a liar. he is being held at the center read to jail on a parole violation. during a jailhouse interview, he said that he meant sandra two decades ago while she was investigating a murder case. >> these five suspects are behind bars accused of kidnapping and 18 year-old.

on friday, officers from up marino valley police a partner received disturbance calls from a hotel. upon their arrival, officers un a18 year-old girl told them she had been kidnapped. all five suspects, two from san jose and three from a deer or a, were booked into the robert presley detention center for charges which include human trafficking, kidnapping, and sexual assault charges. >> >> in oakland, a tailgate party had a a's game over the weekend turned dangerous in the parking lot of the coliseum. off saturday night, three vehicles were destroyed and three others were damaged. the fire happened about an hour after the a's games started. >> a man who sell nearly 100 ft. down a cliff in half

part of a crackdown on drunk driving leading up to the labor day >> high winds are fueling a wildfire in northern california that is threatening more than 400 buildings and forcing hundreds of people to evacuate. it's a two-thousand acre fire burning in butte county..about 80 miles north of sacramento right now the fire is about 45-percent contained but authorities are warning residents that high winds can cause the direction of that fire to change rapidly. >> in idaho, firefighters are optimistic that they're making progress in their battle against a raging wildfire. the flames have scorched nearly 160-square miles and forced the evacuation of 23- hundred homes. the fire started 12 days ago.containment is only at 9 percent. authorities have told people in the resort towns of ketchum and sun valley, idaho to be ready to evacuate if necessary. >> we will take a quick break. here is a live look

>> welcome back. bear attacks are on the rise in several states, raising safety concerns. at least seven people have been mauled in a slew of their attacks in five states over the last week. on saturday a hunter in the northern alaskan wilderness was mauled and attacked by a brown bear. the hunter had to be saved by helicopter and suffered severe blood loss. in michigan, a 12 year old girl was jogging in michigan and she was attacked by a bear that came out of nowhere. the beer kept charging and so the girl played dead because of her injuries. deep cuts that

the weekend turned dangerous in the parking lot of the coliseum. saturday night, three vehicles were destroyed and three others were damaged after a hot grill caught fire. the fire happened about an hour after the a's game started. no injuries were reported. sonoma county law two dozen people countywide in a sweep targeting alleged dui offenders with outstanding arrest warrants over the weekend. petaluma police say during the operation 19 officers attempted to serve a total of 129 dui warrants, and arrested 23 people. the sweep was conducted as part of a crackdown on drunk driving leading up to the labor day holiday weekend.

an elderly woman is lucky to be alive after a pick up

slammed into her petaluma home. it happened early yesterday morning on cleveland avenue near bodega avenue.

emergency crews found a full-size pickup truck had smashed through the front door and destroyed the living room. the woman was in bed in a back bedroom listening to music at the time of the crash. she was was shaken but not injured.
