see more snow as we head into this weekend's forecast. but not only them they're going to be dealing with active weather. we're going to be seeing our fair share of it too from the same system. rain returning into the bay area into the friday, saturday and sunday forecast as an area of low pressure sitting well offshore right now in the pacific is still forming. and as it forms it's going to create a large system of rain that's going to build into the bay area. and all throughout california as we head into sunday, monday and tuesday of next week as well. now the reason why i want to bring that up is temperatures are going to drop significantly and we are going to see about an inch of rain on average leading up into the monday forecast. so it's not a huge washout necessarily. we're going to see off and on showers in the next couple of days but that's going to be the case up in the north bay all way down into the santa cruz mountains and they can see over an inch of rain there as well. so lots to talk about with that cold front moving in. like i said temperatures will drop and we're going to see gustier conditions and of course that rain right around the corner but that's friday. we're not even close to that yet. by the way it's only tuesday. good morning by the way. as we wake up and head out the door, it's

crash. you are looking live at one of the caltrans cameras. this is at westbound 580 connector as you head over into the maze. getting towards westbound 80. maybe heading towards the bay bridge this morning. you can see there's only one lane available for traffic to sort of squeeze through there into that oakland area. if you are in those left lanes those are completely shut down at least a couple of them. and this has been out there for almost an hour now. it happened at about 4:30 this morning. three cars involved in the crash and tow crews are on scene but still a lot of activity there and there's an investigation because this is a deadly crash where one person did die. so unfortunately, it's going to be -- take a little time for all lanes to open up there. still quite early for the morning commute and that will ease up traffic as you head through there. lanes are open in some spots so you are bottlenecking as you work your way on the westbound side of 580 but in the meantime see some brake lights at least from 980 as you head through there. so a bit of a slow commute this morning as you work towards the bay bridge. because of that accident. we will keep an eye on that and
