have made are unfair to them, that sentences that criminals have been given are excessively lenient and that perpetrators are favored over victims. what' your response to that? >> i feel definitely, my heart goes out to people who have los loved ones in this community. some people aren't able to appreciate the work we do. >> the work of price has been focused on reforms including alternatives to incarceration and not charging juveniles as adults. now paper work has been filed. families of victims believe price has been pushing for the shortest possible sentences. price has argued tha adding enhances

disproportionately helps people >> 82% are black, any time we can divert people from the criminal system, that's a goal. because the criminal system has been shown to be racially bias. >> it is favoring perpetrators over victims. is that correct? >> that's absolutely not true. often what studies have shown and it's true in alameda county many times people who are perpetrators are labeled as perpetrators were actually victims. >> data shows oakland is experiencing record crime rates car rates are up 50%, burglarie 40%, and robberies 22% year ove year. >> police officers that i represent are out there struggling to keep one the pace of vie lint crime. i would really like a district attorney

it on our website kpix.com. we're learning that pamela pric has filed a criminal complaint against one of her former prosecutors. these are screen shots of an alleged all star e-mail where price wrote she filed a misdemeanor complaint against butch ford. price alleges that ford shared confidential work information with an attorney about a prior case. ford who has been a very outspoken critic of price told me this is political retaliation. he said he filed a complaint about price's office to the county back in april saying price targeted him after he spoke out against her. we di reach out to price's office about this tonight but we have not heard back about this issue >> new video tonight of an ice cream vendor being robbed at gunpoint in oakland. this happened around noon. the man was pushing his car down east 18th street when two people as you saw jumped out of this car and held him at gunpoint. they both robbed him. then casually got back into the car and left.

the ice cream vendor was not hurt. it is hard to find a walgreens store in san francisc that does not have their products locked up to keep them from being robbed. but one is going as far as chaining up the freezers. store workers told us before then shoplifters were clearing out the pizza and ice cream every single night. the workers say they see over 20 shoplifters a day. if you live in the south bay, maybe you saw this smoke over the san jose skyline. ther was a good bit of it. turns out it was from a small fire that torched the brush near lake cunningham park. we don't know yet how it started but we do se fire invest investigators of the scene and we also saw

level. you might see that smudg of haze. we'll keep you updated right now not seeing the end of that fog just yet. temperatures down to 69 in the city. inland temperatures a mix of 60s and 70s. we will see that fog tryin to spread out early tomorrow morning. inland is not going last too long. the fog is going to burn off very quickly in the inland valleys, backing up to around the bays mid-morning and backing up to the coast by lunchtime. which is normal for the middle of july. high temperatures tomorrow here's a change from the past few days. little below average. near 60 along the coast. below 60s in the city. inland temperatures a mix of upper 70s and mostly low to mid-80s with the warmest spots far inland in the delta making their way up to around 9 degrees. temperatures will warm up later this week. a very modest warm up near the bay. upper 60s and low 70s in san francisco through the weekend with mid- to upper 70s for
