and into san francisco we are around average for pacifica more warmer the more inland we go. is this record breaking? by no means but we are close by let's get into this morning's stories. a health advisory has been issued in martinez over a mystery mercury spill at an amtrak train station. traces of the chemical and initially they said it was a small amount. now we learn it was a lot more. contra costa health wants people to avoid walking on certain streets in downtown martinez. the amtrak station is closed until further notice. stay away from the parking lot and nearby streets. in san francisco, there are more calls this morning for district attorney brooke jenkins to release video in the banko brown shooting case.

brown supporters showed up at city hall to say that they are not going to stop protesting until the d.a. releases the video. brown was shot and killed by a walgreens security guard while allegedly shoplifting about $14 worth of candy. the oakland teacher strike is in day five. teachers are returning to the picket lines at dozens of schools. yesterday they were at 80 schools and held megarallies at four spots across the city. always the strike drags on, parents are calling for a seat at the bargaining table. during the 9:30 stream, hear the union's response to parents input. police in oakland are investigating a shooting near castle month high school. two people were shot yesterday. they did not confirm whether the 17 and 18-year-old victims were students at the school. police say it happened before 5:30 last night on macarthur

horses have a forgiving help. >> there is stress. if you go to see your horses, it's like -- it ends. >> reporter: the hands on equine experience led by trained professionals through we ride, too, helps kids learn how to touch, feed and groom horses before lessons on horseback riding. it has been a good ride for 11 year old francis. >> fun. you get to build a relationship with the horse and it's just fun to be with them. >> reporter: his mom says thanks to we ride, too, horses are building responsibility in francis. >> they built my confidence. >> i like coming and seeing miss pat and her teaching me stuff. >> reporter: miss pat says horses help kids deal with trauma that is not always visible. she wants every kid to have a place, a belonging.

editor. let's start with google io event. it's less than an hour away. what kind of updates to you expect to see? >> there are three things we want to see google land in the io developer conference. the first is a statement of some kind about ai. google had a string of controversial press regarding ai with the leading ai researchers resigning in order to speak more freely about the technology. we expect google to make a statement and the pixel fold, a foldable phone is making a comeback and google will talk about a pixel tablet. we are expecting it to debut in the conference. >> some stuff to look forward to. tweeter ceo elon musk will purge inactive accounts on the platform. are there benefits to doing something like this? >> the purge has begun officially as of his tweet

monday morning announcing that purging inactive accounts, accounts inactive for several years has begun. there are concerns that even though he has been talking about this since december, there isn't an option to memorialize accounts. some are concerned that there may be an impersonation issue that arises as a result of this. twitter is a primary source, where original information took place. purging accounts that might lose the information. up to 1.5 billion account names, handles will become available. if you had you're on a handle, this might be your opportunity to get it. >> movie pass was a revelation at the time but bankruptcy forced them to close. now they are back. you got hands on with the beta experience ahead of its release. what are your thoughts of it? tell me about it. >> one of our senior editors is beta testing the movie pass

golden gate bridge and san rafael. today is the day to head to the park or a nice stroll around the neighborhood before it warms up into saturday. saturday the temperature peaks. well above average conditions throughout the bay area when it comes to our weather. we will be in the 90s in our inland areas and we will see upper 60s on the coast. on average throughout the bay area, temperatures above average 9 degrees in oakland. a warmer trend in the east inland hills. high pressure will dry us up. plenty of sunshine into the weekend. if you have mother's day plans this weekend, here are the temperatures. saturday, one of the warmest days of the year. but to add to that, into sunday, similar to this. hydrate properly ahead of the weekend forecast and to add to that, make sure that you are enjoying the day this weekend but have sunscreen, too. today we are below average. compared to this weekend, we will be
