it happened yesterday between highway 84 and woodside. in all, five buses were attacked . for from apple and one from google. no other vehicles were harmed. the buses were unmarked and the shuttles are well-known for transporting high tech workers and protesters have targeted them before. an internal memo on the incident says coaches are being rerouted and detours could result in longer route -- commute times. so far there are no suspects. >> usually they are full of employees. it could be something that prevents casualties. >> we have new information, they have reported another incident that took place on friday. these attacks started on friday and apparently continued yesterday.

whether or not they will happen in the future remains to be seen. they are investigating in this case.>> the perpetrators in this, are they out? do they have some vendetta against people in the tech industry specifically or is this vandalism? are employees avoiding buses now because of this? >> we do not know the reason for these attacks but there have been protesters that have targeted these buses with picket signs because they are unpopular when they going to people's neighborhoods especially in san francisco. as for employees on the buses, no way to tell. we did see an employee get on the bus, lining up video that was shot a few minutes ago for the evening commute. people are riding the buses unable is mike and i am unable to tell you whether the numbers are down or up at this point. some scary collisions this afternoon. in antioch, a man driving a

stolen pickup caused a nasty wreck on summersville road. two's moral -- two small children are among those injured. they were inside of this great pickup. the passenger side, completely caved in. this started when a deputy spotted the stolen truck and followed it. witnesses say, the driver floored as he exited highway for. >> it looked as if his lights were on. he didn't hear screeching or anything but the boom. it went up on its side. it went all over the place. >> the suspect was taken to the hospital. his or her name has not been released. the children harmed appeared to be in critical condition. a fremont undercover officer was hurt after a chase involving two women in a stolen vehicle.

police officers blocked the area off. they say the suspect crashed into an unmarked police vehicle. one of the women made a run for it on foot and the driver tried to escape but she ended up slamming into her own friend and the police officer. both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be all right. two shootings linked to the same gunmen. the first outside of a starbucks store on lincoln avenue. 90 minutes later, a shooting on the west side of town between linda vista avenue and barber road. emily turner is live in napa were police are trying to determine the motive.>> reporter: they are trying to connect the dots to figure out exactly why he pulled the trigger. the good news is he is behind bars and those he shot are expected to be all right.

>> reporter: a cup of coffee turned into a crime scene for several starbucks visitors this morning including amanda mclean. she was there when police say a man pulled a gun in the parking lot and chartres -- and shot another patron before running away. >> there was a guy with a long beard. he got shot in the back. a green expedition ran off with probably four people in it. >> reporter: the shooting triggered a lockdown at nearby schools. students took cover under desks while the alarm rained. police believe the two men know each other but do not know the reason behind the bullets. an hour and a half later they struck again in the northwest is mike and -- in a northwest napa neighborhood. >> a 66-year-old napa resident was driving through his neighborhood and saw a person looking over a fence and acting suspicious. being a good citizen, he asked the person what they were doing.

the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him.>> reporter: the suspect was a -- the suspect was arrested shortly after. >> we went into survival mode. she immediately went inside and i began to administer first aid. she got some helpful items to prevent any loss of blood. some saran wrap over the wound.>> reporter: as police say they do not have any prior interactions with the suspect at this point, they are trying to figure out exactly why he was here. he is not a resident of napa but he has ties to the area as well as to the lodi area and will likely be charged with two counts of murder. emily turner kpix5. a plan to funnel $350 billion in overseas cash . because of the president's new tax law.

they will invest at 350 billion in the u.s. economy. this includes a second corporate campus possibly outside of california. apple says they will create 28,000 new jobs and most apple employees will get $2500 in stock awards as a bonus. according to bloomberg, the restricted stock units will be given out over the coming months. most employees worldwide including retail workers, will be eligible. after the announcement, apple stocks shot up more than 1 1/2%. the dow closed 26,000 points for the first time in their 121 years history. the dow jones industrial average was up 320 points. a one .3% gain. the best in 14 months. investors are optimistic over what corporations will be doing over the coming year. large -- in large part due to

the scots -- to the tax cuts. another big plus for the stock market.>> the s and p closed above 2500 with the 26 point game. nasdaq closed up 74 points. lawmakers in washington have only a couple days left from keeping the government from shutting down. a long-term budget deal is not possible according to some. they are focusing on a one- month fix. this means for now, no separate deal for daca. >> reporter: house speaker paul ryan put more pressure on democrats to support the budget deal but didn't give much in exchange when it came to immigration which is something democrats say have to be resolved for -- before or at the same time. that's the same message that more than 100 demonstrators sent this here -- here in this

building.>> reporter: protesters filled the senate office demanding that lawmakers protect daca. karen, a 23-year-old daca recipient from los angeles would not give us her last name because she is scared of becoming a target. >> they have our information, where we live, we've lived here all of our lives. we have nowhere else to go. >> reporter: daca is not part of the short-term spending proposal. it would keep the government open through february and extent the children health insurance program for six years. >> i find it hard to believe that my colleagues would shut down the government for american citizens and vote down a reauthorization for american children all over illegal immigration. >> reporter: some democrats are demanding a daca fix be part of a short-term spending bill and some republicans are

threatening to vote no for other reasons. >> we want to rebuild the military. >> reporter: the president says he will sign off on a daca fix as long as the bill includes money to build a border wall. john kelly the president's chief of staff met with the congressional hispanic caucus. >> if anything else i hope the general got a clear view that they will have to have more in the center if they truly want it fixed. >> reporter: congress has until midnight on friday before the shutdown begins. a group of bipartisan senators introduced a new immigration bill that would give docker recipients -- daca recipients illegal -- legal status for three years and provide border security. it would include money for a wall. today, majority leader mitch mcconnell said part of the problem is that he is not

exactly sure what measure the president would sign. live on capitol hill. kpix5. >> the attorney general is urging daca recipients to renew their applications while they can. calling on the dreamers to take advantage of a recent court order that requires the u.s. government to accept applications for daca renewals. the window is expected to stay open until the supreme court weighs in on the president's attempt to cancel the program. a san francisco nonprofit is helping dreamers pay for their application fees. they are giving grants to docker us -- to daca recipients who need help paying the $495. checks are made directly to the u.s. department of homeland security.>> it's our effort to step up to counter the negative message we are getting from washington. we as a community, we see them and hear them and we are here

sexual violence and harassment. >> some of the questions asked people if they've ever experienced that kind of harassment, stalking, partner violence, sexual violence. some questions asked people if they are aware of centers on campus like the title ix office or the office we call the care center which is a confidential resource. >> reporter: the information will help the university create a safer environment. >> i've actually had a teacher that has included it in the syllabus. including links for sexual- harassment websites and places to get help. >> i think it's important for more awareness. i've heard things in the dorms. things that have happened. i do not feel like you could be too aware of this issue. >> reporter: of the system and berkeley in particular have

received negative attention in recent years of reports of professors sexually harassing students and other staff. and that administration was slow to protect victims.>> we've been dealing with this for a while. the moment, it's certainly right now to do the survey. find out on the campus what people's awareness and attitudes around this are. >> reporter: this is an online survey. it's been conducted by an independent research organization. other universities have done a similar survey. it will rollout on monday and we will keep you posted. kpix5. seven university students say they were drugged at a frat house in stanford. the suspect is not even a student there. >> reporter: the alleged drugging's that took place during an open house to -- during an open house reporting that the victims were male and female showing effects similar to xanax or the tranquilizer

known as benzo. according to an email from the staff, five members of the sorority blacked out even though they had not had alcohol. two male members of the stanford rowing team went to the hospital and at least one tested positive for benzo. the person who brought the drug to the event was invited by a member of the rowing team but not a stanford student. >> he should have had is id -- his id checked at the door. that the normal procedure. >> reporter: the independent publication, the fountain hopper, said in its report that the suspect is a member of the dartmouth college men's rowing team. >> it seems like it's a safe community, i hope this will be

that for myself. >> reporter: the department of public safety and the universities title ix office are investigating. according to the stanford daily, staff at the houses waited until late on sunday to report the alleged drugging. kpix5. >> officers searched a southern california home. 13 siblings were being held captive. investigators had to suit up in protect deer, facemasks and booties before going into the home. some of the children who ranged in age from 2-29 years old were found shackled to furniture and in filthy conditions. their parents have been charged with torture. a deputy is facing charges in connection with an assault on an inmate. 28-year-old joseph bailey turned a blind eye and allowed a small group of inmates to assault another inmate. this happened at the santa rita jail back in october. >> this is an isolated incident. not something we've seen in regards to a deputy using inmates to actually,

physically, assault another inmate. >> bailey was placed on leave during investigation -- during the investigation. a chp officer is on the mend after being struck by a drunk driver. martin lynn way said he had successful surgery on both of his legs. the incident happened two nights ago on highway four in concord. the driver slammed into officer len ways motorcycle. the driver is facing felony dui charges at the martinez county jail. social media executives were grilled on capitol hill about how they are combating extremist content. twitter says they have suspended nearly 300,000 accounts promoting terrorism. youtube says they've gotten rid of 160,000 videos and suspended 30,000 channels. facebook says that 99% of isis
