5:53 am
san francisco. but the trend throughout the week, and you're probably already seeing it on the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen, is for those numbers to come down a few degrees each day. so concord tomorrow afternoon will reach 73, still pretty warm and well above normal. then we see it coming down a few more degrees, even more on wednesday, as we get more cloud cover. but it won't be until the weekend when we're expecting some rain, so we're seeing all of the clouds and the rain being blocked by high pressure. but once that high starts to break down, we'll make way for the storm systems to at least move just to our north. rain chances ramp up for the bay area, starting on friday, and continue throughout the weekend. so this upcoming weekend will not be as nice and sunny as what we just had. if you are planning to head to the sierra, a lot of snow coming that way. anywhere from 14 to possibly 36 inches of snow this weekend for those upper elevations. it's going to be a lot more, but

definitely some difficult travel. and we're going to see some rain here, so when we take a look at the changes in walnut creek, we're going from highs in the 70s to upper 60s, to only 60 degrees for the weekend. we're back to having to wear the heavier jackets and lug around the umbrellas. we know that also helps with all of the greenery we're seeing out there. we know that it will hold on for a little while longer with more rain in the forecast. so we're looking good, a cooldown as we head through the next few days as the sunshine continues, and then for san francisco we're going from 64 today to upper 50s for saturday and sunday. mike, you're saying that it seems like it's a smooth monday morning commute. >> it does seem like that. again, we were watching the toll plaza, because we need to get another update. the backup formed pretty quickly over there. we did have 680 southbound reopen about 90 minutes ahead of schedule. we look at the whole map, bay area wide, you do see a new incident that just popped up in the last two minutes. i haven't gotten any information there.

5:56 am
no surprises here into concord out of bay point. out of vallejo, highway 37 westbound, the build is on around the mare island bridge. the bay bridge built up about five minutes it took for the backup to start showing and suddenly in the last seven minutes we've seen all of these lanes fill in, including slowing off the 880 over-crossing. i think the metering lights are on slow, but we saw the sensors across the span getting into san francisco are showing slowing across the span. volume may be a little heavier. the maze is clear. back to you. >> thank you so much. happening now, silicon valley based chipmaker nvidia is capturing the attention of wall street. the company is showing off new technology at its gpu technology conference. it includes its latest inroads when it comes to ai, nvidia shares were up more than 2% in premarket trading ahead of that event, which got under way yesterday at the s.a.p. center in san jose.
