a little too late. three years into the administration it. should been done day one. >> todd: biden's border chief saying we are in a big pickle. kamala harris said we are still trying to get to the root causes. disconnect whether it's intentional or not american lives are at risk. 1.1 million migrants encountered at the southwest border in this fiscal year 180,000 of that just last month, the highest number february has ever seen. and those 140,000 got-aways. you heard maddy say that's what keeps border patrol chief jason owens up at night. is he doing this work as are you, i imagine you have the same feeling about those got-aways, chris? >> absolutely. that's one of our main concerns arrests a state agency in texas that we are focused on those got away. that's why when governor greg abbott launched operation lone star three years ago this deploying national guard to the

border we are focused on the threats because we know border patrol is tied up processing and that does create more vulnerabilities along the border and with that more criminal activity. more drugs, criminals, cartel members, suspected terrorists, criminal gangs. that was our focus from day one to focus to go after the smugglers and drugs and most importantly the ranchers, impacted in rural texas where have you illegal immigrants trespassing on the country trying to evade capture. the real question is what is the intent behind it? why do people go to that extent it pass to vehicle or truck to make it further into the interior? what are their intentions behind it. we share both of the same sentiments, border patrol, these are threeats we need address. goes back to the federal government and their complete inaction for the safety and security of our country. >> todd: meantime in your state two migrants have been arrested for human smuggling, two got away after a wild high speed car chase with dps troopers ended in flames. we are going to show the video.
