bloodiest day in american history, the battle of... where 23,000 americans were slaughtered. there was weight to lincoln's words. he was honest abe. in 1941, franklin roosevelt articulated america's four ascension -- essential human freedoms. freedom of speech, religion and freedom from want and fear. fdr urged americans to defend democracy in war-torn europe. these presidents use their words , not to scare americans for political gain, but to mobilize americans to meet the moment. last night, president biden didn't tempt occurred -- courtesy to arrive on time to the state of the union and once inside the chamber, he milked the political affection, inching ever so slowly to the podium, refusing not a single selfie from embarrassingly childish politicians. stopping and entertaining long conversations and basking in the

pageantry and attention. there is something grotesquely pathetic about grown men and women of the president's own party pawing at him as if he had a real talent. it was as if the democrats never spend time with their president. like he had come out of hibernation and showed proof of life. they don't see him at the christmas party or the easter egg role? they don't meet with him about legislation? may be they wanted to capture the moment on camera when they met the greatest president of all time. because that's who joe biden compared himself to. the combination of abraham lincoln and fdr. biden declaring himself a wartime president, saying he is saving democracy at home and abroad just like america did in the civil war ended world war ii. >> franklin roosevelt came to this chamber to speak to the nation. he said i address you in a moment unprecedented in the

he was interrupted again when he blamed trump for his border crisis. earlier, marjorie taylor green handed biden a pin with laken riley's name on it. this happened. >> i'm told my predecessor called members of congress in the senate to demand they block the bill. he feels political... political loser for him. it's not about him, it's not about me. i would be a winner not really. laken riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal, that's right. how many thousands of people have been killed by illegals? to her parents eyes say my heart

hero and says anything to survive. even made up estate -- fake civil war to scare the country and stay in charge. the real civil war inside his own party. last night was a cannon shot to signal he has the gunpowder to wage a brutal battle for what he calls the soul of the nation. who knows were that gunpowder came from. we warned you, biden believes he's a wartime president and is ready to take whatever action necessary to defend the country from you, the enemy. bringing former speaker of the house kevin mccarthy. that was a pretty vicious political screed. >> it was. you want to know why? they wrote this speech, they practised the speech and what did they want to achieve? he wasn't speaking to the nation went -- what he was doing is speaking to his party. this is more about a convention. i think he was worried about

democrats removing him for the nominee. that's why he came out and tried to show every democrat... you have to be tougher, stronger. all he did was look mean and angry. that doesn't bring in more votes he is really playing worried that the democrats were taken off the ticket, worried about what's going to happen in chicago and trying to solidify that instead of govern the nation. >> jesse: what about saying that trump is the enemy of the state? he's fdr and he was victorious against hitler, he is lincoln, pretorius -- victorious against the confederacy. he's framing this as a military campaign. i don't think anybody sees it that way. they see the economy stinks and we need the old guy out. what is he thinking here? >> there's three big issues. he's trying to distract from the border, the economy and his foreign policy. that's the tough part for him. he wanted to distract his predecessor how many times, blame him for stuff that wasn't

even there. he cannot move away from the only war that's happening in america is on our borders. these cartels are the ones that are the strong enemy out there. these cartels are the ones that bring fennel, the number 1 killer of our youth from 18 to 45, our economy. he's complaining about these companies that can't put enough inside a bag because of this inflation that he created. americans are hurting more. and foreign-policy where he has america looking weaker than we have... this is the challenge. he's trying to deflect and be angry so you can't question him. somehow they show that he started through the speech, and a bone issue out there to americans is his age and the border, the economy and foreign policy. i think he failed on all of those last night just by the way he delivered it. he sounded almost like an angry old man. get that ball off my yard. no playing in the neighbourhood. >> jesse: why don't think he

killer and illegal? he has not yet been asked if he regrets letting the illegal killer into the country glenn. >> i do think that it gets to a point that there is a really significant danger to the biden presidency which is a lot of people that he relies on and the party relies on to go vote for him are saying that they won't in part because they are extremely angry that he has chosen to stand by israel and finance the war in gaza, he did very little to talk to those people who are swearing that will not vote for joe biden because of it. you have a lot of people who do care about things like his vow to try and close the border or do more to the border, pretending that he wants that bill to be signed and is angry that trump said not to sign. is a lot of people are alienated by that. a lot of liberal pundits are using glee over what they saw last night, it was like written for a liberal pundit, the vast majority of the country that has all kinds of doubts about him found nothing in the speech that would have convinced them to be

more supportive. i think that's a huge danger that they are listening to the tv all the time, to the greenroom's and not to the american people that they need to vote for him. >> jesse: it's as if this was written for the greenroom's of msnbc. it wasn't delivered to the large portions of the country that have doubts about his competence and his performance. why do you think he is so tightly tailored this to the media? >> i think that the media thinks that the reason americans believe he is too old to perform the office is because republicans or the media have been telling them that and they need a way to help give the media a weapon to say look at biden, he is actually capable. the reason americans thank biden is to walter, just like stephen smith said is because they've been seeing for themselves his brain deteriorating and he looks like an old man with dementia. the fact that he was able to stand on his feet and not droll for an hour had no chance of overwriting that judgement.

high school in oklahoma where they were filmed looking peanut butter off each other's toes for a fundraising event pick the video was so shocking it triggered an investigation from the state superintendent but it turns out that was just the tip of the iceberg. other schools in the exact same town are coming under fire for the exact same reasons. these high schools are facing heavy scrutiny after similar footage going all the way back to 2015 resurfaced. the disturbing video shows students looking peanut butter, chocolate and other sauces off of each other's feet and armpits just like deer creek high, they were doing it for charity. admin public schools has it was part of their philander p. event. they... soon whistleblowers from the school said they weren't just licking pits, they were swapping spit to. >> it would consist of four students and the first student
