4:02 am
this as texas' drop in illegal border crossings is greg abbott's strategy working? i think so. >> ainsley: you are looking live at gobbler's knob on groundhog day. it is like a rock concert there. those guys on stage have been singing. now they are making the announcement because it's coming up soon. will punxsutawney phil see his shad co? we will tell you. grab the kids. wake them up early. they have got to see this. the second hour of "fox & friends" starts now and remember mornings are better with friends. >> brian: get dressed. >> lawrence: straight to a fox news alert. a growing number of new york democrats are on board with deporting the migrants who walked free after attacking two nypd officers last weekend but there is one problem after flipping off reporters outside the courthouse by the way they are flipping all of us.
4:03 am
>> ainsley: america. >> brian: some of them on the run already. >> ainsley: madeline joins us with the latest. >> the new york's office of court administration does not know where the suspects are telling fox news the court is not aware of the defendants' whereabouts but they are obligated to return to court on their scheduled dates. five of the people arrested and prosecuted in this attack against two nypd officers outside of a migrant shelter in times square over the weekend were released without bail. a sixth person was arraigned on thursday. he is the only one who is being held on cash bail a 70 person arrested has not been charged. we vigorously condemn assaults on police officers and prosecute those responsible. the question here is whether the person arrested was even involved. at this time there was not sufficient evidence that he is one of the people who committed this terrible act. the d.a.'s office also says prosecutors didn't seek bail for
4:04 am
five of the suspects because its team needs more time to investigate and specify each person's role. critics, however, are outraged this guy flipping off the camera is basically flipping off all of america. we we are there, we did that we assaulted a police officer, we don't care. we will do it again. what emboldened them even more is being released with a no bail. >> the nypd not only looking for more suspects, sources tell fox news think are also investigating whether some of these migrants who were arrested and released use fake names to get tickets and board a bus heading west. d.a.'s office says it's investigating these allegations. brian, lawrence, and ainsley. >> lawrence: unbelievable. the judge should have hauled their tailback into the courthouse after they saw them doing the big flip-off to them. >> brian: they don't care. i mean, they don't care. thanks so much, madeline.
4:05 am
>> ainsley: thank you so much, madeline. lawrence, we were all talking while she was putting up the report full screen of what the administrator said. they are object galgted to return to work. do you think they will? they are sticking up their middle fingers to the court. we are not coming back. they are saying blankety blank to you america not appreciative for the food and shelter all the free things they get that's how they thank america. >> brian: how you go up to the border go up to any port of entry or caught they say i feel under threat in my country. do you think this kid feels under threat in his country and only thing he could do is flee to america for a chance at the american dream? see his tongue sticking out at all of us. is he laughing. they are laughing at us lawrence lawrence they are probably part of the country they are fleeing. part of the criminal corruption. >> ainsley: nikki haley and dodonald trump use that for your campaign ads. >> lawrence: ubecause of what
4:06 am
greg abbott has been doing. getting new numbers. it looks like they are down the border numbers are down by 76% right now. and when it comes to the total there has been increase when it comes to arizona. this may be part of greg abbott's strategy. but we know, based on the numbers. >> brian: look how dramatic that is look at the difference. >> lawrence: during the winter months, brian, they typical see a down trend anyway. >> ainsley: what is he doing differently in january than december. >> lawrence: there was pressure on the governor because he had already deployed national guard on that. people in texas are like you have got to start sending these guys back. texas passed that law. they started putting the razor wire there. they were inviting border patrol to come in there to kind of break up some of this stuff and process them. and border patrol wasn't -- they were taking down the wire and not telling the people to turn around. now border patrol didn't want to do that but the administration forced them to do it. so greg abbott is like have you
4:07 am
got to get out of here then. you are not helping the situation. border patrol union backed the governor of this. and essentially texas is not letting them. in they are saying go back. >> brian: i mean look at the numbers. can you just put those numbers up for a second. total apprehensions, if you look at january 32809. arizona and california, 23,000. you know we don't hear much about new mexico a democratic governor. that's probably a mess as well. >> ainsley: is biden going to take credit for those numbers? >> lawrence: i am sure he is any time he brings up texas he knows he is losing that. 66% of the country sides with texas in their showdown with the federal government. and is he too afraid of this matchup because you know the border is -- is he rating so terribly at the border. his policies are solely responsible. the more he talks about it the worse he looks. he knows that texas is right. he know what texas to do what they're going to do. he knows why 25 separate states have sent down national guard. it's all because of him.
4:08 am
when he looked in the camera and said give me the power to act. that's what people are on the fence on should this new border reform be something they embrace. they say, wait a second. is he pretending that he doesn't have the power right now that he didn't reverse everything that kept the border numbers down. kept the -- kept the fbi most wanted list almost down to zero. that his list has quadrupled, the whole remain in mexico. whole reversing when did you go into one country where you apply. the app. that lets you get parole. you show up with app. and iphone i'm in for 10 years. all this stuff he is responsible for. >> lawrence: i'm source, ainsley, go ahead. >> ainsley: the lady you interviewed a when was that, yesterday? >> lawrence: that was yesterday. >> ainsley: the lady standing outside the recreational center my kids come here to play, this is not the most affluent neighborhood. this is where they go to after school programs. if you ever go to the boys and girls programs. they are wonderful. that's where kids can go after school because mom probably

works three jobs to put food on the table. so they go to the rec center. they will can't go there to play anymore. because the migrants are there. >> lawrence: that mom was so frustrated. >> ainsley: she was so good. >> lawrence: wasn't just that mom, everyone i spoke to this week. here is a little bit of that. >> how do you think the mayor is doing right now? >> oh my god, don't mention. don't mention. don't mention. he is note doing -- he can't handle. it he can't handle it. >> lawrence: he can't handle this job? >> no. this job was not cut for him. >> currently 100 students over projection just at my middle school, so you can mall the crisis across the entire district. we had seven new students arrive just monday, and we don't have the funds to make sure that we have resources for all of our students. >> it was a place for our children. our children. i have four children and it's
4:10 am
sad you know, i have four boys, you know, and we really don't have nothing in the community that's free for us. >> don't get me wrong, it's great that they want to help the immigrants. but what about the americans that are already here? >> ainsley: that's exactly how everyone feels, you have compassion for them of course they are goddens children. what about the people here paying in the system, who are taxpayers, who are americans and did it the right way. >> lawrence: if you look at the president and look at twitter page, doing minority tour. going into different minority communities and talking to families. is he not talking to these people though. these are choreographed things where the administration wants to talk to people. act like is he doing something for the community. if you talk to the bulk of people in urban america. they feel just like these people do. >> put them in greenwich connecticut and beverly hills. we will solve that problem right away. in a few hours president biden is expected to be in attendance for the dignified transfer of three american soldiers killed in an american back terror attack in iranian backed terror

4:12 am
>> the white house and defense officials blame the attack on the islamic resistance in iraq. that's umbrella group of iran-backed proxy strikes against targets in iraq and syria are currently being weighed. here is defense second lloyd austin yesterday. >> they risked their lives and lost their lives to keep their fellow americans safe from global terrorism. the president will not tolerate attacks on american troops. and neither will i. >> but the u.s. strikes have so far not offered any deterrence in the region. as for the dignified transfer today, this marks the solemn return of these troops back to american soil. you have flag-draped transfer cases that will be seen carried out of that plane where they will then be reunited with their families. brian? >> brian: all right, alex, thank you so much. here to react is retired four star jack keane, this is never easy, especially when you feel in your that's right could have
4:13 am
been prevented. what are your thoughts this morning? >> well, certainly there is three phases to every operation, the planning, the preparation, the execution. the plan something likely mostly completed and the president approved a suite of targets and locations as well. certainly. but, given the nature of the targets that can be moved like rockets, missiles, launchers and, obviously, if we are going after leaders, they can be moved. so, some of that may still be going on. the preparation, i think, is two fold. one is to make certain our penal are protected. and we may actually move some of them to get that kind of protection if they don't have harden sights where where they are located. we know full well there will be a reattack of some kind. then there is also -- we have to make certain that the ships are in the right place, surface and subsurface ships. i think the airplanes likely are already there.
4:14 am
but, there may be some movement in the preparation phase. hopefully this is a comprehensive strike. multi piered as they describe it. and that would involve a number of ships to be able to execute the cruise missiles and the fighters as well. so that's, i think, where we are and also helps to explain why there hasn't been a strike up until this time. >> so i understand that we are dead set on sending a message to iran and looking at some of their assets outside their country. do you think that that's the right move, looking for the irgc sites of the iranian guard outside the country and not go -- do what reagan did and blow up some oil wells and maybe taking out their navy? >> well, i think certainly taking out the people who did the attack and as much as we possibly can from that is very appropriate. if there are iranian irgc
4:15 am
leaders out of iran and we can acquire their location. certainly take them down. but they have likely moved all of them, i would imagine. but if we can get to them, certainly. i really believe the main target here should be the irgc capability that iran has inside of iran. i don't think we have to, you know, go to the capitol in any way. >> we should avoid any kind of civilian casualties here. but irgc capabilities, a lot of it is on the coast. and we can deal with that and also focus on their leaders as well. they are the ones who arm them, train them, fund them and supervise them. the irgc leaders are in hezbollah and lebanon hezbollah regular basis. they were just reported to be with the houthis were on a regular basis and in there just recently they visit hamas on a regular basis. all of them go to their training center in iran, which i think
4:16 am
should be a target that should be on the list. so, yes. you have got to go after iran and hold them accountable. >> i would reset the whole strategy with iran. stop the appeasement negotiations. get international partners involved and begin to really isolate iran. some of the europeans want to trade with them. i got that, just put it on the table here. that's over. we have got to isolate this country. economically go back to the maximum sanctions and really strap these guys. they are flush with money right now that will all take time. hold iran itself accountable here. they are behind everything. the more we avoid that frankly, the more this is going to continue. there will be reattack and we have to make certain that our people are properly prepared for that. >> brian: that would be nice. you know what would be good to know there would be a grand strategy rather than just a reaction to an attack because it's been 46 in the red sea on our troops in the houthi rebels and even though we are hitting
