at a town hall yesterday new york city mayor eric adams said the city's migrant crisis is a national crisis and once again criticized the biden administration for not providing any support. at multiple events yesterday, mayor adams ultimately said he blames republican texas governor greg abbott and former president trump for the crisis. >> we turned this city around in 20 months. then what happened? start evidence with a mad man down in texas deciding he wanted to bus people up to new york city. trump republicans created this mess and we need to fix this mess with real immigration reform. >> more than 110,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in new york city since april of last year. but according to governor abbott, about 13,000 or just 12% of that total were bused by his administration up to new york

from texas, i know i don't have you for long. senator, first of all, when you hear eric adams here in new york, the mayor, and other democrat-led city leaders saying they're feeling the pain and we're a sanctuary city but, but, but, what do you say? >> it really is astonishing hypocrisy. you have eric adams, the governor of new york, the governor of massachusetts, you have the mayor of washington, d.c., the mayor of chicago, the mayor of san francisco all of them are discovering the burdens of joe biden's open borders and illegal immigration. they are seeing thousands or tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and they are discovering it drives up crime rates, it drives up -- it drives up the burdens on the city and overcrowds the schools, overcrowds the hospitals. and i have to say coming from texas, it is amusing. we have had 7 million illegal
8:13 am
immigrants under joe biden. so seeing eric adams complain about 100,000 is cute but he still doesn't bother to put the blame where it belongs. this is a political decision by joe biden, by kamala harris and by the way by chuck schumer. if eric adams wants to talk to someone chuck schumer lives in new york city. he says illegal immigration is destroying new york city. he could pick up the phone and tell chuck schumer to stop fighting for open borders and stop protecting the biden administration as they lawlessly opened the borders. >> harris: talk to me on the focus of the dissolution, the deg regags in new york, that focus was never on texas. you didn't hear governor greg abbott. i have interviewed you, him, others from that beautiful state where i have family many times have heard how they are crushed under the weight of illegals coming across the border but no one ever says it will change us to the point where we cease to

exist. is that desperation or true coming out of the city's mayor? how bad do you think it will get for them? they aren't handling it well. >> i think it's both and it is utter hypocrisy at the same time. the order of magnitude is really different. listen, this was stark last year. you look at a community like martha's vineyard. it has a population between 20 and 30,000 people. and when governor ron desantis sent 50 illegal immigrants to martha's vineyard they freaked out. called in the national guard and deported them within 24 hours. to put that in comparison i want you to compare it another town the same size as marta's vineyard. del rio, texas. it has a population of 30,000 people on the rio grande river. i was there in del rio when on one single day there were between 10 and 15,000 illegal
8:15 am
immigrants in a single day, 50% of the population of del rio all gathered under a bridge right there invading the city. martha's vineyard says 50 is an emergency. eric adams says in new york city 100,000 is an emergency. we've got texas towns where half the population is coming in illegally and yet the democrats still refuse to do anything about it today. joe biden is releasing more illegal immigrants, is enriching more human traffickers, allowing more and more illegal drugs and fentanyl to flood across the border that is killing americans across our country. >> harris: wow, senator i'm glad you are with us. i will get to this now because we just found out about the court documents. the sweetheart deal is gone. it shows david weiss is planning to indict president biden'sson on gun charges. everyone will recall the

if the biden d.o.j. goes after hunter biden and bring a gun charge or a drug charge or a tax charge that is limited just to hunter biden's own conduct it is important to understand what that is. the biden administration wants to give hunter biden a slap on the wrist and have him be the scapegoat. the objective of the biden department of justice is to protect joe biden. harris, look, the reason we're talking about this, the reason this matters, it is not hunter, not that he is a troubled soul with substance abuse problems. that would not be a matter of public concern. what makes this a matter of public concern is the central allegations against hunter biden is that he sold for millions of dollars favors from his father, from joe biden, to foreign oligarchs, ukrainian, russian and senior chinese communist officials and that joe biden solicited and received millions of dollars of bribes in exchange

mandate has no scientific justification and nothing more than an unwarranted intrusion on individual liberty. as more school districts consider forcing children to wear masks for seven hours a day, statesmen should act quickly to protect them before these mandates become endemic. the president could have just said that. steve hilton, fox news contributor. steve, your take on this. >> i mean, of course it is laughable the biden aspect. everything with biden is laughable. it is really serious and infuriating, harris. we never had what i and many others called for, a completely objective, independent assessment of the covid policies that were implemented to see what worked and didn't. we never had that. as a result we are now back to these absurd kind of witchcraft
8:50 am
and voodoo masquerading as public health from the fascists with authoritarian ace many. we have to resist it at every level as j.d. vance is doing at the federal level and at the state level and local level. the individual level. we cannot let them go back to this madness. >> harris: we were told that covid has become endemic. it will be with us just like the flu and other viral diseases and that we have to find ways to protect ourselves moving forward based on the science. why are we the only ones who are willing to follow those rules? we, the people. >> exactly. that's what is so ridiculous about it. none of it makes sense. actually, this is what i always find when you have the politicians who break the rules. they are inadvertently revealing how stupid the rules oh in the first place. we see it with biden. so many examples. i remember the london breed, mayor of san francisco when she
8:51 am
was at a video at a club and taking it off. she stood up in front of the cameras and said i was at a club and feeling the spirit. i was drinking. i'm not going to be taking a sip and putting the mask on and taking a sip. that is what we were told to do. she realized it is stupid. biden realizes it is stupid and we can't go back to this. it makes no sense. >> harris: i worry about what our kids think when we can't figure out one thing. we'll move to this. a california judge freezing one school district's gender transparency policy saying the chino valley unified school district can no longer require schools to notify parents if their children identify as transgender. schools can now keep secrets from parents about their own children. here is a quote from the judge. whatever the class of protected students are, students are

students. it strikes me that you are singling out a group that is exposed to a clear and present danger. that's the end of the quote. in new jersey, my cobalt blue state. parents protesting a similar ruling now because it is the first day of public school today. middletown is one of those districts fighting to tell parents about their children's gender identity decisions. their school board president with this today. >> what we're trying to accomplish here is protect and make a safe place for the children and get them the help and services they actually do need and that's just, you know, their whole narrative is we are outing children. that's just not the case. what they want us to do is out children. these children cannot get the intervention and help they need unless the parents are involved in the conversation and where the problem lies. >> harris: i wish they would intervene when kids are going hungry. maybe visit some houses and do
8:53 am
some good that way. this government wants our kids. we already knew that. >> yeah, this is a massive issue. a huge issue. new jersey many, many school districts in california becoming an issue. across the world a big issue. in the u.k. you know what's terrible about it. the way you have politicians wading into this and bureaucrats wading into something that should be incredibly and obviously a personal, individual matter handled at the family level with the parent and child. these politicians and these bureaucrats are exploiting the issue. trying to rile everyone up for political issues. it is serious and get worse and worse until the politicians show some restraint and understand there are some things that are really sensitive and belong in the family at the human, individual level. not as part of a political battle. >> harris: and as i was just suggesting with the food issue, the hunger issue for millions of
8:54 am
american children, we learned about this really in covid when things were locked down and those feed programs were shut down. in new york city you see a few lines outside places where they could feed some children in desperate need of that. i mean, they have politically flexed but are they willing to take care of all these children in the long run? >> and you can add to that list. the food issue, exactly as you identified there. incredibly fundamental, of course, to life and health. then you look at the education issues that are not being dealt with. we aren't talking about that because we have these political battles are ridiculous. the fact that you are 30, 40, 50% in some school districts of kids who can't read or write at the basic level we expect. as far as i'm concerned any school that doesn't have 100% of the kids reading at the right level is a failing school. that's what we should be talking about instead of all this. >> harris: that is so well put.
